Meet Grishma Dessai @anahat_unstrucksound from Goa, India 🇮🇳 “I am 23 and I have done my bachelors in Ayurveda medicine and surgery, and I am a hath yoga teacher.
I am a little too fond of plants and I love gardening. It grounds and connects me with nature. The love for gardening, growing flowers and veggies is absolutely inherited from my mom. When I see those pretty flowers blooming and number of hand picked home grown veggies served on my dining table, it gives me an immense sense of satisfaction. It is simply peaceful and rewarding.
We have quite a good space where we grow eggplants, tomatoes, pumpkin, Indian gooseberries, coconut, sapodilla, mangoes, lettuce, coriander, curry leaves, mint, holy Basil, lemon, lemon grass, banana, kokum, turmeric, cashew fruit along with variety of different flowering and foliage plants.
I use fish emulsion, vegetable waste, brewed tea leaves and washed rice water to nourish my plants. I prepare my own organic pesticide, by boiling neem tree leaves in water and sprinkling it on affected plants.
I try my best to convince people through my blog and lectures on why they should switch to organic lifestyle. I firmly believe that the power of healing lies in the nature and we all should go back to our roots and have a healthy lifestyle.” @humanswhogrowfood features stories of home gardeners, farmers and community gardens across borders and cultures.
