“Forgive yourself first. Release the need to replay a negative situation over and over again in your mind. Do not become a hostage to your past by always reviewing and reliving your mistakes. Do not remind yourself of what should have, could have or would have been. Release it and let it go. Move on.
You can't change the past, but you can determine that your past will not define your present, or dictate your future. Forgive your former self...for the way you may have sabotaged your present options. Recognize that the ability to create a new life lies in the ability to forgive yourself first and make peace with your past. You have GREATNESS within you!” - Les Brown .

this month is the month for me to figure out my new routines. the most important thing in my day is to wake up alive, and then roll out my mat and practice. i used to practice at sunrise around 7am in my apartment but since i don't have that anymore i signed up for a gym membership where they have a yoga room which is basically empty every morning. so i go and practice there on my own (as you know from my stories). my new time to practice is 5.30am. i pack all my stuff for the day the night before, get up at 5am, brush teeth and head to the gym to practice and do my drills, meditation and so on.
some days it is easy to get up and get going, some days it is more challenging. the thing that motivates me a lot is that when i walk into the gym at 5.30am, there is someone walking out because they have already finished their practice/workout.
when you have a hard time getting up in the morning, remind yourself why you set that alarm the night before!
what time do you practice? let me know below 👇

and found her within myself.”
How gorgeous is this Lakshmi Mala Necklace from this months @yogisurprise jewelry box???
I’m in love.
Everyone is their own biggest self critic. I say this all the time. We always nitpick little things we see wrong about ourselves when in reality most people won’t notice what we judge ourselves so hard on. When I see this picture my self critic comes out hard. I see my shoulders aren’t stacked over my wrists, I see so much tension in my body, I know I need to softer, be at ease, & I’m annoyed my left foot is flat on the pole rather than pointed which would shift my chest back and help me be more aligned. But did you guys notice all of this? I’m still learning and developing my practice so I need to learn how not to be so hard on myself. I need to be okay with being imperfectly perfect. ❤️
Come let your perfectly imperfect selves shine through while flowing tonight @prospectheightsyoga 🌟 6:30pm Vinyasa Vibes 🌟 7:45pm Hip Hop Vinyasa .
Home practice is hard.
I miss my friends and my shala. Life seems a little up in the air right now and sometimes I have a hard time letting go because it’s hard wired in my DNA to keep after what I want and not taking “no” for an answer. I like a clear path and purpose to pursue.
But I am learning to surrender and accept the things outside of my control.
Letting go is hard work. Mainly because it takes a lot of strength to get to the point where you trust yourself enough to just release.
This practice is really more of a practice in letting go than almost anything else.
It’s a surrender.
You get to a point after you pushed and pulled and tried and tried and resisted it long enough, and then finally you realize: letting go isn’t the same as giving up.
And then you can.
It’s deep work and much easier said than done. So if you are struggling and fearing what will happen when you finally release, keep going through it. Don’t force yourself to release before you aren’t ready.
It will come, you’ll find it eventually. #alliscoming

I feel of talking about boundaries today, I’m sharing a personal experience in my insta story and please if you decide to watch it, commit to all the videos or you miss the learning point of it. In a society where we get bored so easily perhaps take a chance in really trying to watch to understand a learn someone else point, this is also a training for people to become good listeners. •
Not long ago I decided to help a friend setting up a meeting (on her request) to help us get better out of a bit stressful situation. I decided to help and then went ahead and created the space for this discussion to happen to then find out that she used that space to go against everything we talked about and to shine a light on herself.
I got firstly disappointed but it has actually been for me a wake up call as I learned that people sometime close to us don’t have the strength to stand for themselves and when a situation becomes complicated they hold on to it really tightly cause of fear of losing something they actually never had in the first place. So to this person and friend I want to say you are worthy, you are loved and you are a great person that deserves more of what you are settling for. However on my side I had to come back to setting BOUNDERIES and to make sure I decide to help only if I’m in a strong emotional and physical state to avoid other taking advantage of me (perhaps they do that not knowing they are). •
So people remember BOUNDERIES are important ❤️❤️❤️❤️ don’t feel sad or worry or upset to say NO when it’s needed ❤️
Lots of love to you all x x x •
Rant about press to handstand. About abs. About flexibility. About strength. And something about 6 year old Russians who can do 20 of them and why. Too long for caption so swipe, read and comment if you are interested.
Both training for and understanding the press to handstand will be a part of the workshop in US @thebodyweightwarrior and I are doing in March. Link in bio for more info.

O P E N I N G to love, to life, feels so good
Hoarding, resentment and unkindness hurt us as much as anyone. .
Generosity, forgiveness and kindness opens, enlivens and frees you. .
Grudges are heavy, graciousness enlightens. .
I think sometimes we feel holding on to our rightness and grasping bitterness is protective. .
As if it’s some kind of shield and we’ll be exposed if we drop it. But we won’t. We’ll just be more luminous. For what we think is a shield is really a block. .
Be a lover not a fighter babe. .
Focus on what you what you want to encourage. On what you love. .
Stop talking about what you hate and complaining about what’s wrong.
Quit blaming bad moods on others.
Start directing your mind to what brings you joy. . .
We’re only able to concentrate on so much at once. Because you can’t possibly attend to absolutely everything you’ll miss the treasure if you don’t open your eyes to it. .
Spotlighting on what truly matters to you, all the rest can’t not fade into oblivion. .
How good it feels when we let love be our polestar. .
When I journal on this question my first response is yes. 💫
I live in Australia, in Gordon Park, a pretty safe suburb. I don’t usually contemplate my personal safety. 💫
I usually trust people from the outset unless they’ve given me reason not too. 💫
But when I dig a bit deeper and flip this around to how safe I feel within myself I can see it gets a little more nuanced. 💫
It’s not that I can’t trust other people but more a question of if I can trust myself. 💫
Can I really count on myself to take action when needed. Trust myself to know when to listen to my heart or my head. Trust myself to not let fear or ego take over. 💫
The more I can get present with myself on my yoga mat, in my journal and in my meditation practice, the safer I feel in myself. 💫
I’m more confident that I’ll be able to step back and create more space behind my thoughts so that I don’t react.💫
This practice helps me to feel safe as I learn to trust myself more. 💫
First trip to India Kovalambeach 1998 and last picture is from Mysore Gokulam Astanga research institute 2003. Sorry that I dont have so many pictures from my Mysore time as I didnt have money for camera. Also never was so interested taking photos of my asanas. Most pics are from the first year and first couple of assisted times when I was doing second series. As you might also notice my tattoos have been removed.
What are the benefits of a regular yoga practice?
✔️Reduced stress/cortisol release
And the list goes on and on!
Even just one class a week benefits the body immensely!
I usually recommend trying to make it into studio twice a week, and do a little at home also to gain the most benefit 🧘🏼♀️
Spaces come up daily, so if you ever want to squeeze in an extra class, or have some free time and want to try us out - just send me a message and I’ll let you know if there is room 🙌🏼🧘🏼♀️🧘🏽♂️
