This playful backbend is beneficial to the spine by increasing its flexibility. While holding the pose, it tones the arms, shoulders and chest. Wheel pose also stretches and lengthens the stomach, as well as expands the rib cage, which allows more oxygen to support the lungs, therefore, improving the respiratory system.
So, this pose is fantastic for anyone with asthma or any other breathing problems. In addition, this pose improves concentration by circulating blood into the brain, which relieves stress, depression and anxiety
The Sun will rise and set regardless. What we choose to do with the light while it's here is up to us. Journey wisely. @alex_elle

The only reason I was able to strip down for @Rosh imccartin to photograph me, and the only reason I’m able to comfortably share that vulnerability here with you, is because, after a lot of self work and perception rewiring, I love the skin I’m in 😻
I can look at myself - stripped back, raw, unfiltered - and love and accept myself, so I don’t need anyone else to 🥰
Wish you loved yourself more? 🧐 Then start loving yourself more, right now, by stopping the negative self talk and shifting the way you perceive and speak to yourself. 😘 Sure, it’s going to take practice, and repetitive practice over an extended time period in order to feel more loving towards yourself, but that’s expected - ‘the day you plant the seed is not the day you eat the fruit!’ 😉

So many ask me how I stay motivated. Some days I just plain out don’t want to workout, but most of the time I’m excited to get my workout in. Some days I even work out twice. Get rid of the mindset that exercising is a chore and start thinking of it as a positive thing. Find exercises that you enjoy! There’s so much more out there than treadmills and bicep curls ya’ll. *video sped up for time purposes*

Ayyyooo friends, it’s Day 3 of #DiversifyThePractice which is any Yin posture. 🤤 Yin is the shit. It changed my flexibility and practice in unbelievable ways. I wasn’t warm enough when shooting to get in the middle splits, but practicing super long holds and PNF stretching (contracting and relaxing muscles to create my more length and release) has gotten my flexibility to a place I thought it would never get to. I’ve loved seeing all of your posts so far! Keep all the magic coming ✨😍🙌🏼 .
1. Vini yoga :”Appropriate Yoga” -Meditative pose ✔️
2. Ashtanga: Classical Yoga - Any Primary Series pose ✔️
3.Yin: Long slow holds - Any pose you can hold for several minutes ✔️
4. Iyengar: Precise Alignment - Use props as needed to perfectly align your pose
5. Aerial: Flying Yoga - Any aerial or inverted pose
6.Restorative Yoga-Get comfy and relax in a pose!
7. Vinyasa Flow: Breath Based - Yogi’s choice

Hey beautiful people! So rag doll is absolutely one of my favorite poses in yoga, ESPECIALLY after waking up! Here’s a short sequence using rag doll as the base with different variations. I’ll explain from left to right the poses.
Rag Doll with folded arms: Bend knees softly until your belly is touching your thighs and let head and arms hang.
Rag doll with hands behind the base of the skull softly tractioning the neck downwards.
Rag doll with hands behind the head with side ways variation to get into different parts of the upper back and side body.
Interlaced hands in rag doll - Bind hands at base of spine and slowly pull away from the back. I find that squeezing my shoulder blades together adjusts the thoracic spine but you don’t have to!
Rag doll twists: Bend one leg while the other one is straight and open the chest and arm in the opposite direction of the bent leg. Use a block if you can’t get your hand to the floor or if its a struggle.
End: Roll the spine up with an engaged midsection…last thing to roll up should be the head and feel free to move with fluidity after this! Happy practicing :) -

A few variations include high lunge, hands on mat or fingers interlaced behind back with straight arms ✌️ Anjaneyasana (Lunge) term references the Lord Hanumam using his mother’s name, Anjani. He is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Shiva, often portrayed as resembling a monkey. As a vinyasa yoga instructor🧘♂️, one of my favorite parts of my job is sequencing my classes📝. In many ways, sequencing a yoga flow is like choreographing a dance 💃🏻; it's both artistic🎨 and scientific🧪 and can result in a beautiful expression of movement 🤸♀️.
I consider myself a fairly creative sequencer🤷🏻♂️and am always playing around with unique chains of postures and different transitions between them🏃🏻♂️. I have received very kind feedback🙏🏼on many of the moves I teach in my classes. And so now, I am sharing some of those moves with you🤗!

Recently started working on my handstands. My wrists are so weak and my balance isn’t great but I’ll get there soon enough 💪🏻
Completed Yoga Arm Tone with @studiotoneitupchevy in the #TIUapp ! What I loved was when we were in mountain and chair poses and she told us to reach for what we want in life, it totally resonated with what I had been thinking about all day. I’ve had enough of my bad relationship with food holding me back from reaching my goals, so I did something about it today and took the first steps to hiring a nutrition specialists. Normally, I seek a friend’s approval before making any decisions, but there are so many people out there with the wrong information, I did my own research and chose my own. I’m excited for things to come! Also, I learned I’m never coming to my mat with makeup on my face ever again 😂 swipe left 🤮 ever do this?
