  • Hello friends! Are you feeling very 2019-ish yet? I’m not. In fact, I don’t know if I’ve ever been this unmotivated. My brain is just stuck on daydream mode. No planning or goals in sight. 😒 So... my . QOTD is: What do you do to motivate yourself to set goals and plan things for the future, AND how do you get yourself excited for them? Any tips? . . Today’s #bookstababesjan19 Photo challenge prompt is “Dead Of Winter” ~ Character death that left you cold. . . I’ve read a few of them lately, but the first one that broke my little heart of stone since I started reading again was in The Wicked Deep by @sheaernshaw I can’t give away spoilers, but if you’ve read it, you get it, I’m sure. You also might think it’s a strange choice, but I will fight you. 😆 . That one was a slow motion “NOOOOOO” for me. And I know the ending is supposed to be happy, but I just can’t accept it. Even though I get it, Shea. It IS the most realistic and logical ending. But I’m a dreamer, we will never accept reality. 🤣 . . I’m sure there are many of you readers that can relate. Have you ever lost a character that you just almost refused to accept that it happened? No? Just me?? 🤨 . . #bookcommunity #bookstagrammer #booknerdigans #bookphotography #booklove #book #bookish #bookworm #booknerd #bookaholic #bookblogger #reading #wickeddeep #readersofinstagram #amreading #yabookstagram #bookpics #bibliophile #ilovebooks #booklover #photochallenge #bookaesthetic #recommendedreading

Hey yall, so I am currently reading Wicked Deep right now as a part of the bookstacoven book club January Pick hosted by Jana @bookishwiccan over at @goodreads and so far, I am intrigued about the book and I can't put it down. I just wanted to update yall on how far I am and show how beautiful this book is. Since it's a library book I cant show the cover, but it's a gorgeous book that I will definitely get in the future. . Right now, I am currently on page 108 and that 34 % done. My thoughts at the moment are, it's a slow start in the beginning, but I believe its building up to a big finale, it seems like. There are some triggers like death, possessiveness, body snatching and more. Plus if you don't like a slow read, then this book is not for you. . ⓈⓊⓂⓂⒶⓇⓎ Welcome to the cursed town of Sparrow… . Where, two centuries ago, three sisters were sentenced to death for witchery. Stones were tied to their ankles and they were drowned in the deep waters surrounding the town. . Now, for a brief time each summer, the sisters return, stealing the bodies of three weak-hearted girls so that they may seek their revenge, luring boys into the harbor and pulling them under. . Like many locals, seventeen-year-old Penny Talbot has accepted the fate of the town. But this year, on the eve of the sisters’ return, a boy named Bo Carter arrives; unaware of the danger he has just stumbled into. . Mistrust and lies spread quickly through the salty, rain-soaked streets. The townspeople turn against one another. Penny and Bo suspect each other of hiding secrets. And death comes swiftly to those who cannot resist the call of the sisters. . But only Penny sees what others cannot. And she will be forced to choose: save Bo, or save herself. . #thebadgerarmy #magicnbooks #bookstagrammer #bookstagram #instalove #book #reading #readingislife #bookworm #booknerd #bookstalove #bookster #igreads #readersofig #reader #bookstagramfun #bookstagramnc #currentlyreading #backtowork #friday #wickeddeep #theunreadshelfproject2019

One of my favorite things about hardcover books are when they have a cool design under the dust jacket.

  • 2018 was a great year for books and BRPL staff would like to share some our favorites with you. For fantasy and magical realism readers we recommend:⠀ ⠀ Spinning Silver / Naomi Novik - Deciding to collect on the outstanding debts owed her family of moneylenders, a young woman is overheard boasting about being able to turn silver into gold by the creatures who haunt the wood, in this reimagining of the Rumpelstiltskin story.⠀ ⠀ Circe / Madeline Miller - Follows Circe, the banished witch daughter of Helios, as she hones her powers and interacts with famous mythological beings before a⠀ conflict with one of the most vengeful Olympians forces her to choose between the worlds of the gods and mortals.⠀ ⠀ Wicked Deep / Shea Ernshaw - Three sisters, drowned as witches in Sparrow, Oregon, in the 1800s, return each summer for revenge but Penny, seventeen, is determined to stop them to save the boy she loves.⠀ ⠀ Winterhouse / Ben Guterson - A first entry in a planned trilogy set in a magical hotel filled with secrets finds orphan Elizabeth Somers shipped away by her malevolent guardians to a mysterious hotel, where she discovers a magic book of puzzles with ties to her host's sinister family and a fateful curse.⠀ ⠀ #spinningsilver #naominovik #circe #madelinemiller #wickeddeep #sheernshaw #winterhouse #benguterson #bestbooks2018 #bocalibrary⠀ ⠀ ⠀

  • 5 Star Book Review! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌙 Friends, I loved this book and cannot recommend it highly enough! The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw follows main character Penny Talbot in the coastal town of Sparrow. Sparrow has a sorted history...two centuries ago, the three Swan sisters were accused of witchcraft and drowned. Now, each summer, the three sisters come back, stealing the bodies of teenage girls for a few short weeks. During “Swan season,” the Swan sisters lure boys into the harbor to drown them, the ultimate revenge for their own deaths. The book follows Penny as she meets a new arrival to town—a young man named Bo. As Penny starts developing feelings for Bo, she worries he might be taken by a Swan sister. Can she save him? Is she hiding secrets of her own? 🌙 For me, this book had it all and was the perfect spooky fall read. The Wicked Deep was a page-turner...it had suspense, intrigue, romance, deception, lies, and a beautiful magical quality. I couldn’t put this book down and cannot wait to read more by Ernshaw. 🌙 What’s your favorite witchy/spooky read? • How I have been doing my TBR for the months is having two books I really want to read and then a bonus book as my third. I WAS reading witch season but I got a couple chapters into it and only had #wickeddeep by Shea Ernshaw and “it ain’t me babe” the hades series? I believe it called. I’ve decided to go with what I feel like reading and not what’s trending this way I don’t feel guilty about my reading 😂

🤔 🦇 (🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧) I cannot wait to start Wicked Deep. Oh well, actually I can wait, just a week or so, it would be perfection to read it in the days leading to Halloween 🎃 maybe even on Halloween itself? just perfect! I can already see it, nice and cosy blanket, candles all over the place, spooky music (because why not) and a big bowl of candies, supposedly for the neighbour kids but that would somehow end up empty even before the first one show up. Have you read this book before? It's probably not scary at all, I know, but the witches and the curse, and the haunting and the drowing boys in the lake well... That feels halloween-y enough for me! 🦇 #fallintoautumn18 : Magic #octinbooks18 : Dark colors 🦇 #bookstagram #bookphotography #bibliophile #bookworm #bookaddict #bookaholic #booknerd #goodreads #livreaddict #livresque #instalivre #lecture #amreading #livres #igreads #bookporn #bookishescape #bookishglee #booknookstagram #livraddict #livrestagram #Halloween #wickeddeep #intothewoods #blogger

I got this absolutely gorgeous mug in my September @thebookiebok 😍 it's inspired by The Wicked Deep which I quite enjoyed! 🍇 Don't forget to use KAITIE10 to save on a subscription for the Bookie Box! It's such a fun box :) 🍇 Question! What's something you'd like to see more of in book boxes? Mugs for me! I know they're fragile, but I love them SO much! 🍇 #bookstagram #bookandmug #bookishmug #bookbox #thebookiebox #wickeddeep #bookquotes #shelfie
