🇹🇭 Thailand, Krabi. 14.1.19
Swapping out Bangkok for Krabi was welcome relief. I love city life but there’s nothing I like more than being somewhere so chilled out that you can’t help but fall in to the same pace.
We stayed in Krabi Town, away from the beach areas purely because we knew we’d be heading to Kohj Lanta, Phi Phi and Phangan in the following days. Krabi is much bigger than you’d expect, with main attractions stretching further beyond the main town. For that reason, we thought staying within the old town would work for us.
My highlight of being in Krabi was when we hired a scooter and made the hour journey to the hot springs and emerald pool. The roads are smooth and traffic is okay to navigate, so long as you appreciate that people will move in to any space they’d like! We dodged cows and dogs 🐄🐶 on the roads in more secluded areas, who seemed unperturbed by our being there.
When we got to the springs and pool, we were in love straight away! We padded through dense trees and jungles and ducked under huge overgrown branches and spider webs. Tom stepped through the entire place with huge caution after seeing a MASSIVE spider at the entrance gate. 😂 It was worth it though. Stepping in to the hot springs was like getting in to a freshly drawn bath, warming and relaxing. We’d set off early in the morning to avoid the crowds and it was truly amazing to look out towards the cooler streams below and see it for what it was - an empty paradise. 🏝
The emerald pool couldn’t be more different though! Less peaceful but more social and fun.. children playing with inflatable flamingos and couples carrying each other across the water. It was nice to go for a swim after riding there in such humid heat.
We’d definitely recommend going for opening time to avoid the queues, the tour operator crowds and to enjoy some time to yourself.
Ready to step into 2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣9️⃣? I’ve been blessed with so many wonderful adventures and I hope to take you all with me into next year’s travels. Wishing my IG fam a happy, safe and wonderful new year with lots of great memories!
Here’s a shot of me with literally one foot in Tennessee and the other in Arkansas as I make my way across the Mississippi River on the Big River Crossing. I ❤️ Memphis!

Finding my groove while discovering Beale Street’s lively blues clubs on a fine December evening. 🎷 #memphis
How about *this* for decadence? A gold-detailed 1972 Superfly Cadillac El Dorado owned by Isaac Hayes. It’s positioned on a rotating stage so a bit hard to get a clear shot, but you get the idea.
Hayes took pride in cruising Memphis in this fur-lined, 24-karat gold beast. Even its windshield wipers are gold!
Checking out the extensive and fabulous artifacts at Stax Museum of American Soul Music in Memphis. 🎸 #memphis

The most famous of Elvis’ cars, the 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special, was one of the few that he kept throughout his lifetime.
Custom-painted pink, this car was first used by The King for touring. He later gave it to his Mom, calling it “Gladys’ car” since it was her fave (even though she didn’t own a driver’s licence). 💖 #elvispresley

Elvis Presley definitely had a love of crazy beautiful cars during his short life. He collected dozens of classics including this customized 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Survivor Roster. To demonstrate the color he was looking for, Elvis smashed grapes (!) on the car’s fender. 💜 #elvispresley

Its quite the surreal moment when you’re seated at the oldest cafe in Memphis at the *very* table where Elvis used to sit. Arcade Diner, #memphis 🎸

Standing in front of Graceland Mansion, taking it all in. I never thought I’d ever get the chance to visit but was equally impressed with the amazing collection of memorabilia across the street at Elvis Presley’s Memphis at Graceland! 🎸🎹 #graceland

Inside Guest House at Graceland: The grand staircase inside Elvis Presley’s Graceland. The upstairs quarters are off limits to visitors so this is the next best thing. Great sleeps here at the hotel, too! 🎸 #memphis

No trip to Memphis would be complete without a visit to Elvis Presley’s Graceland. The front gates are open from sunrise to closing time so I snapped this one at night to get the full gate! 🎼 #memphis
