  • My Saturday’s of organizing continue! Yes, I own a lot of books but I don’t own too many to where it would prevent me from making my shelves look appealing. I’ve had one shelf looking nuts for the past few months so I’m finally organizing it to make it look pleasant. Anyone else take time to make their shelves look good? • • #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookshelf #unreadbooks

  • [Anzeige/Ad*] . ❓ Physical book that has been sitting on your TBR the longest? . 🍁 A: The Hazel Wood. (If you can't tell, it's the one without a title on the book spine at the bottom. 🙄) . 🍁 Reading update: Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy is very enjoyable. 😄 Simon is great and I love George (and his Scottish accent)! 😍 Those two are so funny together! 😂 I'm glad I got this audiobook! Plus, my eyes can rest while listening. 😊 Still no idea how to feel about The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle though. 🧐 . 🍁 Thank you for sticking around! • How many unread books do you have on your shelf? 📚 I have...over 100. 🙈 It’s ridiculous. Wasteful for sure. A tiny bit shameful. The thing is, I’ve always bought way too many books, but I used to read at a much slower rate than I do now. (Think 10 books a year when I was in college.) So they’ve just collected at an astounding pace over the years. Some of these are from the super budget book store I used to go to with my mom, some are hand me downs. But most I honestly have no clue what they are, when I bought them, or what even made me want to read them in the first place. . . So one of my New Year’s Resolutions is going to be clearing out my book shelves. Because, let’s be real, I’m not going to go on one of those “book buying bans,” because I completely lack the will power, so I need to get rid of some of these to make room for others. So I’m probably going to go ahead and do some monthly flash giveaways in my stories for some of these gently used books. Because my trash could be your treasure. ❤️ . . What’s your unread shelf situation, and how do you deal with it? Do you see any on this shelf I need to pull off and read immediately? . . #booklove #booklife #bookish #bookworm #booknerd #bookobsessed #bookaholic #bibliophile #readersofinstagram #bookpic #bookstagram #rainbowbooks #bookshelf #rainbowbookshelf #bookrainbow #unreadbooks #flashgiveaway #booklovers #bookcommunity #bookstack

  • I saw @marcella.andherbooks do the #unreadbookstag a few days ago and thought it was such a nice idea! The tag is all about talking about books that are hyped or very popular, but that you haven’t read yet. I chose the following five: • The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry. This book has been waiting for me on my shelves for a while now, but for some reason I’m not inclined to pick it up. It might be because everyone has been singing its praise and I’m now scared to be disappointed by it. Also I’m not a big reader of historical fiction. • Autumn by Ali Smith. The same goes for this novel. And the fact that I think that you should read this in Autumn? Correct me if I’m wrong 🙈 • Grief is the Thing with Feathers by Max Porter. I actually started this book when I first got it, but didn’t like the first page and put it down again. I do like to read it some day though. • Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. I found this copy in a thrift shop some time ago. This novel seems to be everyone’s favourite and I think it might be the one I pick up when I finish the book I’m currently reading. • My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante. I’ve heard mixed reviews about this series. People seem to either adore or detest it. My mom lend me the series, but I’m still in doubt whether to dive into it or not. Have you read any of these novels? Let me now which one you think I should definitely read in the near future! • • • #unreadbooks #bookgram #bookgeek #bookgram #booksofinsta #boekstagram #boeken #boekenwurm #neverstopreading

  • Another day, another book I haven’t read yet. 🍓🍓🍓 This is starting to be a bad habit: I pick up a book because the cover is pretty, snap a pic of it, then put it in the pile of books I have on my floor and forget about it. This means that now I have approximately 2.5 million books waiting to be read in my home. 🍓🍓🍓 What is Putney about? you may ask. Great question...I can’t remember! But, you know, the cover did match my homemade yogurt parfait sooo...... 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Do you read books as soon as you buy them or do you pile them up in towers that even Rapunzel would gasp at, like me? xo Janille

  • i’m trying to set some reading intentions for 2019, because obviously i want to start strong and decided into the new year! . so here’s a general overview of where i’m focusing my attention: - the unread books on my shelves, like the one pictures above - classics, for general education, my conscience or whatever - new releases, because i’m just never up to date - all the pretty books that catch my attention throughout the year . really, though, i’ll probably just go with the flow. that has always worked for me and i’m not the strongest in sticking to (bookish) intentions. what are your rough reading plans for the next year? 🎄

  • ❄ Happy Wednesday friends! It's a chilly morning & I am so glad that I have no where to go today...other than having to take the dogs out for their walks 🐶🐶 • I finally got caught up in Anna Karenina for the buddy read - I got dreadfully behind & missed last week's discussion. I have to say, now that I am halfway through the book 🙌, I am realizing this is definitely a character-driven story & I am becoming completely invested in the characters lives, especially now that both couples, Anna & Vronksy and Kitty & Levin are together...and while I might not necessarily care for all the characters (Anna's husband in particular), I am curious to see what comes next for them all. And while I do know the final outcome for some of the characters (in particular Anna) I am anxious to get to the end. • Hopefully I can stay on track or even get ahead...now that I have the momentum, I might not want to stop 😉 • If you want to follow along or see any of the discussion posts, they can be found at #annakin8 & Whitney from @theunreadshelf is hosting so look for her posts! • • • #wednesday #currentlyreading #amreading #unreadbooks #unreadshelfproject2018 #annakarenina #leotolstoy #readyourownbooks #alwaysreading #alwayswithabook

  • Werbung / unpaid Ad . QOTD: What book or series was on your 2018 tbr and you won't come around reading this year? . For me.... There are way too many books I didn't read this year. Jane Eyre for example is one I just don't find the time to read. 🙈 . • I spent so much of November reading and getting holiday sessions done (I’m a photographer) that I didn’t post much on any of my social media 🙈 . . - I loved the Fates Divide (read it in one sitting). . . - Im not exactly sure what the heck I was reading in A Discovery of Witches, or if I hated or loved it. Yet I finished, and am finding myself putting the next book on my list for this month. Because I thought it was great? No... I think because it’s my version of watching bad reality TV or because you can’t look away from an accident about to happen. Anyway. That’s that. . . - The Iron Trial was good! A fun story that kept my interest and I’m about to start the second book. . . - Ruin and Rising was great. It didn’t end how I expected but overall I was pleased with the story and I’m glad I finally made myself sit down and read the trilogy! . . - Graceling...I didn’t love it. I’m not sure why. I liked the concept a lot but there was just something about the characters or plot that had me kinda 🤨 while reading. . . - I’m still working on The Goblet of Fire (about halfway through) and it’s of course amazing. . . - The Horse and His Boy was a cute book in the Narnia series but not my favorite. . . - Bleeding Earth was good! I liked the gross aspect of the earth almost rejecting humans with human blood and other body parts. Though, it ended kind of abruptly..I haven’t looked into whether there will be another book or not but I hope so because I want to find out about a lot of unanswered questions I have lol. . . . Candles are from @librarylights and I LOVE THEM. TOO MUCH.

  • #readthisdecember Day 2: Second Book Syndrome I tried to remember the last time I encountered a second book syndrome and I know that it happened a lot in YA a few years ago. But the only thing I could think about was A Gathering of Shadows. I really liked A Darker Shade of Magic and I loved the world but it took me ages to read AGoS 🙈 and since then I wasn't really motivated to pick up the third book. I'm gonna finish the series one day, that's definitely on my to do list. I just dont know when it will happen 😌 #shelfie #bookspines #bookstagram #unreadbooks #redspines #fantasybooks #bookphoto #bookpic #fantasyshelf #booktrilogy

  • November was, to put it lightly, a bit rubbish. My reading was very much affected by what was going on in my life elsewhere + I only managed to read 3 graphic novels + the new No Such Thing As A Fish book (which were all really good). December is a fresh start + I'm hoping to get my reading mojo back! My #TBR this month is considerably less ambitious than previous months, seeing as I'm already 2/3 through #TheAlmostNearlyPerfectPeople + #Crudo. Also on my TBR this month are #TheLongWayToASmallAngryPlanet, which everyone at work has been raving about, + #Asymmetry, one of the @blackwellbooks of the Year. This copy is borrowed from a colleague who absolutely loved it + has been steadily convincing everyone in the shop to read + vote for it so my expectations are pretty high indeed. What are you planning on reading in December? #bookstagram #books #bookstack #toberead #unreadbooks #amreading #currentlyreading

  • I have had this idea for a stop motion video for YEARS, but was never sure how to execute it, and I finally (sort of) figured it out! So what book do you think I should read next? Featuring 89 of my unread books (and I still have a few more I couldn't fit in). I realize owning too many unread books in not a problem, but this year I tried to only read what I owned and tried to buy and go to the library less. Also swipe for a blooper 😫

  • Evening loves! ✨ I am back home for a couple of days. It’s not for a happy reason, but I’m excited to see my family and annoy the cat 🧡 It’s always so nice getting out of Aberdeen! Do any of you guys just need to get out of your city/town sometimes? 🤷‍♀️ • On a more bookish note, have any of you guys read this one? I saw it floating around a lot around Halloween (it’s got a skull on the cover soooo 👌💀) but haven’t managed to read it yet! It has fallen victim to my poor unread shelf! • Hope you’re all having a wonderful week! (I can’t believe that it’ll be December at the end of the week??) remember, if you’re in the UK, you have until Saturday to enter my giveaway! 🧡 if you’ve already entered, you can get an extra entry this week by re-sharing it in your story! (You can share as many times/days as you’d like, I’ll count it as 2 extra entries 🎁) • #bookstagram #thelanternsember #unreadbooks #tbrofshame

  • Happy middle of the week! 〰️ Does it happen to you sometimes that you think is one day of the week but it’s actually another one? It’s been happening me all week. Yesterday I felt it was Wednesday when it was actually Tuesday and today, for a second, I thought it was Thursday instead of Wednesday 🙈That’s how much I want the weekend to arrive. And it’s not because I’m having a bad time at work but because this weather makes me want to be in bed or in the sofa with a warm cup of tea or coffee and a book (or a film or a tv show). .. .. As per books, I found this one on the recommended books on Amazon and it picked my attention. I mean, it promises bookshop scenario and bookish talks so count me in ☺️ It looks self published so I’m afraid it’s probably only available in Spanish 🤔. I’ll tell you about it when I get to read it. Hopefully this reading slump of mine will pass soon. .. .. . . . . #bookster #mesientobookish #bookstagramespaña #bookgram #autumnalvibes #bookandsweater #bookdragon #bookgeek #unreadbooks #toberead

  • Funny story about how I got this series and why it is signed. I was wandering through Barnes and Noble for a new book when I found A Thousand Skies Above You. I thought the cover art was pretty (I know I judged a book by the cover) so I bought it. After reading the first page I was confused. So I googled the book and found out that I bought book two. So I bought books one and three online. Then my local Comic Convention mentioned #claudiagray was going to he there. I brought all my unread books and got them signed. And to this day I still have not read them. #unreadbooks #thefirebirdtrilogy #books #bookworm #toberead #bookstagram #reading

  • Books that I was supposed to read this year. Oops. There’s always 2019! 😆 I’ve a new announcement on my blog tomorrow morning. A very big change is headed to BiblioNyan, but it’s a much-needed form of self-care. Looking forward to all of the other neglected projects I will now have time to focus on! • Happy Sunday friends! It's a beautiful day outside, though I'll be spending most of it indoors. I woke with a slight sore throat, so besides doing a ton of laundry & drinking copious amounts of tea ☕, & I plan on just reading. 📖 • I am participating in a buddy read of ANNA KARENINA by Leo Tolstoy & I am a bit behind in the reading. I just finished up Part 2, which we were supposed to have finished last week 🤦‍♀️ I just got busy with other thing & this got put by the wayside...but I really am loving the book & getting to know the characters. . This section certainly brings a lot to light - there is quite a bit of character development, & Anna & Vronksy's affair has moved forward drastically. With the book being as big as it is, I would have thought this would have been dragged out a bit. I will say, I am still not a big fan a Karenin, Anna's husband...he just seems so emotionally detached. Perhaps this is why Anna is so easily swayed by Vronsky? . So now onto Part 3. • • • The buddy read is being hosted by @theunreadshelf & we are using the hashtag #annakin8 if you want to join in. • • • #sundayvibes #sundayfunday #currentlyreading #unreadbooks #unreadshelfproject2018 #annakarenina #leotolstoy #readyourownbooks #booksandtea
