Cuba was definitely a check off my bucket list. It’s been a goal of mine to check some things off before I settle down and become a “real” grown up. It’s been so amazing to see places I’ve only dreamed of.
What’s a place you always dreamed of visiting?
Still working on Japan, Cartagena, Egypt, and Morocco for this year ❤️

10 Year Challenge you say!? 2019 actually marks a significant time for me where I am celebrating 10 years since my first travel adventure! 🌏🤸♀️🛫
These pics are me in Santorini, back in 2009 on my first solo worldwide journey, and now (well not quite now, but last year) in Santorini. How times have changed! Photography quality is a big one too! .
Besides the obvious physical changes, most of my changes have been internal. I am so much healthier - mentally, spiritually and physically than I was 10 years ago and that, I am very proud of.
There's plenty to celebrate and be grateful for with 10 years of travel. Great things are coming this year!! ✌

Now Discovering Coromandel, New Zealand, with @nicolaiabano.
"Coromandel Peninsula is one of the best place in Northern New Zealand where you can see the coastal area and be amazed with the beauty of Cathedral Cove. Being there is out of this world, the calmness of the ocean, the stunning sunset across the horizon, and astonishing landscape." #thediscoverer#nowdiscovering

On rainy days I’m always torn between just remaining focused on the present + enjoying the soft pitter patter of raindrops on the roof while listening to moody emo music, and pining for sunnier days. Anybody else do the same? #🌤 #NeverSatisfied
🌸 [Takato Castle Ruins] 🌸
📍 [Matsumoto • Japan]
🌱 [April • Spring]
When a castle falls into ruins, new seeds grow into vibrant cherry trees.
One of the top three cherry blossom sighting locations in Japan, it’s also one of the most inaccessible. But that means fewer crowds that can induce claustrophobia and suffocation. Of course that also means better photo opportunities with one of the most pink Sakura seas in Japan 🌸

V I E W S . // By pure chance/luck (or as I’d like to think it, by God’s design), I had the unique pleasure of sitting down and having tea with an Iranian gentlemen this weekend. As my father, my brother, and I shared a snack of pistachios, dates, and fruit with him in his immaculate living room, this gentleman began to share with his story with us, a group of complete strangers.
He told me about his coming to this country, seeking opportunity in a land of promise, leaving behind his beloved homeland barely four years ago. He shared about his wife, who he painstakingly brought over from Iran through legal immigration, and how they were able to raise their son, who wasn’t much older than my own. And in his somewhat broken English, he articulated how his wife and child had gone back to Iran to be at his father-in-law’s deathbed, only be trapped in the Middle East by an arbitrary and non-discerning policy change made by a protectionist Administration. When he told us that he hadn’t seen his wife and his son in over two years, my heart broke and felt tears sting my eyes, watching as my father’s welled up in unison. •
I was made speechless by the way this gentlemen demonstrated such grace in the re-telling of his story, never blaming the travel ban, never voicing a single word of outrage or frustration. He seemed simply content to patiently wait for his bride and beloved son to safely return home. I don’t know if I was just so struck by his story, or if I’d been so taken aback by his forthrightness, his willingness to share such intimate details with people he barely knew. Either way, I wish I’d had the words to give him hope, the courage to pray for him and his family; I didn’t, but thankfully I am certain our paths will cross again.
Until then, I praise God for our little “chance” encounter and fervently hope that even for just a little while, sitting in the midst of three Taiwanese men, this gentlemen felt like he wasn’t so alone in his adopted country. It really doesn’t take a lot to change your perspective; one man’s story can completely alter your view of the world in a matter of minutes. #Perspective

🍜 [Nam Nam Noodle Bar] 🍜
📍 [Suntec City • Singapore]
In spite of being part of a chain, Nam Nam Noodle Bar maintains its delicious and authentic taste in the hearty bowls of pho they serve. Come on a weekday for lunch and you can enjoy a bowl of pho with either chicken or beef slices, along with a side of two fresh hand rolls and a drink such as Vietnamese iced coffee, for only S$10.90 after tax!

🥩 [iSTEAKS Diner] 🥩
📍 [Holland Village • Singapore]
Offering one of the more affordable steaks around, iSTEAKS Diner doesn’t compromise on taste. The Australian ribeye here was tender, done to my medium rare liking, and well marbled with fats, and coupled with the sauce, the steak was bursting with flavour on every bite. Less than S$25 for a 200g portion and two side dishes such as mac n cheese and French fries is truly a value for money deal!

🏔 [Kleine Scheidegg] 🏔
📍 [Bernese Alps • Switzerland]
❄️ [December • Winter]
Commonly known as a transfer point between Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen and Jungfraujoch to most, Kleine Scheidegg in fact offers more than just that.
A bustling ski centre with quite some F&B options and souvenir shops, Kleine Scheidegg does indeed make winter come alive.

🏔 [Jungfraujoch] 🏔
📍 [Bernese Alps • Switzerland]
❄️ [December • Winter]
After a good night’s rest in the cozy village of Grindelwald, we were ready to head up to the highest train station in Europe, Jungfraujoch.
It was a crisp and clear morning as we took the train up to Kleine Scheidegg for a transfer of trains, before continuing our journey up to Jungfraujoch through a series of tunnels. Although expensive, the steep slopes and gruelling conditions the trains have to go through is testament to the remarkable and reliable Swiss engineering involved here.
Once atop the Sphinx Observatory, we braved the -18°C temperatures and caught a panoramic view of the Aletsch Glacier, the summit of Jungfrau as well as the surrounding mountain range, before buying some chocolates in one of the highest Lindt shops in the world 🍫

🍜 [Ramen Santouka] 🍜
📍 [Somerset • Singapore]
The ubiquity of Japanese food eateries and restaurants in Singapore in recent years makes it confusing to identify the top ramen places in Singapore, but Ramen Santouka, which has two branches in Singapore with one in Cuppage Terrace in Somerset and another in The Central in Clarke Quay, promises ramen or excellent and consistent quality.
The shio (salt) ramen here (S$13.90++) has a white tonkotsu (pork bone broth) base, giving a light yet subtly flavourful slurp each time. With a generous portion of al dente noodles and soft char siew pork slices, the overall ramen experience here is to date one of the best in Singapore.
