Hygge is a Danish word for a mood of coziness and comfortable conviviality with feelings of wellness and contentment. Hygge (pronounced hue-guh not hoo-gah) doesn’t require learning “how to”, adopting it as a lifestyle or buying anything. It’s not a thing and anyone telling you different either doesn’t understand it or is literally trying to sell you something that has nothing to do with the concept. You can’t buy a ‘hygge living room’ and there’s no ‘hygge foods’ to eat.
Danes created hygge because they were trying to survive boredom, cold, dark and sameness and the undefinable feeling of Hygge was a way for them to find moments to celebrate or acknowledge and to break up the day, months or years. With so many cold, dark, days, the simple act of a candle glowing with a cup of coffee in the morning or a home cooked evening meal with friends can make a huge difference to one’s spirit, and I think it is amazing ✨

💿People from Scandinavian countries were always something I’m curious about. You know a lot about Germans, Russians, Italians, people from France, but not a lot of people have at least some kind of understanding when it comes to Scandinavia. So, what is so special about them?
💿Well, first of all (the most obvious) probably the appearance. It is hard to talk about girls as they can dye their hair, do make up etc. That’s why I am going to analyze the stronger part of Danish people. They usually have a light colored hair (like a golden blonde), pretty tall and skinny. They honestly do look attractive in some kind of way.
💿They are not very talkative and load, but they will be more then happy to help you if you ask for it.
💿Another thing that should be mentioned is their accent. I am not a big fan of different accents, but my ears truly melt when they hear English language from a Danish person.
💿However their native language is another great thing. It is a well known fact that Danish is a combination of German, Swedish, Norwegian and a little bit of English. It honestly sounds fantastic: either because of this great mix of languages or just because of the way they say it.
