Splendid painting by CA-based artist Sam Nejati in a beautiful room setting—A collaboration between Thomas Deans and Jerry Pair, ADAC, Atlanta. It only takes an imaginative designer and an adventurous client to work art of intrinsic quality into a room.

Another one from the vaults: a very late small wash drawing by Henri-Joseph Harpignies (1819-1916). Dated 1913, when the artist was 94. A drawing of similar date and media by Harpignies is the the National Gallery, Washington, DC. You do understand that ‘Contemporary’ is a state of mind, don’t you?

And now for something totally different: Photographer Forest McMullin’s first Atlanta solo exhibition opens at the gallery on 12 October. Late Harvest: On Back Roads in the Deep South. This is a portrait of Judy in Port Gibson, Mississippi. We call it “A Long Way from Downton Abbey.”
Last night we posted a video of British artist David Brayne at work. This picture shows the result. Called “Ariana” it alludes to the myth of Ariadne on Naxos. Or, it could simply represent an English summer day. Either way, Brayne’s technical mastery is impressive.
