Update: still working my butt off on @fly.listed with @pchareth. Haven’t gotten out to shoot for fun at all recently. There is a business to grow! If you know of any real estate agents in Maine, New Hampshire or Massachusetts, please DM me!
Composite I made of moonrise on Cadillac Mountain and a tracked shot of the stars taken off Park Loop Rd.
The Castine lighthouse! One of my favorite buildings in town & one of my favorite lighthouses. I might be biased though. Where is your favorite lighthouse?

One of the pieces that found a home today for our Flash Friday event.
THANK YOU to everyone that came out, I’m sorry to everyone we weren’t able to get to. But we will be doing these on the 1st Friday of every month so mark your calendar or set a reminder! Our next one will be on Friday February 1st open to close. It’s best to get here early and snag a time slot. Keep an eye out for sneak peaks of design in my stories or you can check out my highlights as well.
“I know you, those seeking eyes. You’re the one in dire need of time, that thing we can’t buy, what we sell of ourselves to get more of what we think we want, what we seemingly gain. They say time is money, but that’s not true. Time is life.” - Voskamp
I don’t want to sell away my days for things that don’t matter. That’s like breathing with only one lung...you’re hanging on, day-by-day, but never really able to take a full breath. I’ve felt some emptiness lately—feelings of inadequacy for not being able to make the next check mark—that next adult expectation. I need to remind myself not to squander my time on such thoughts; and remember to treasure where I am and be. My heart swells for this gift, this rest, this trove of grace. My hands don’t hold my days, and the only worthy response to that is gratitude.
Happy birthday to my dad. He may have lost an entire 12 pack of Coca-Cola in the swimming hole once, but he's been a pretty good dad, so I can forgive him for that. He has been immensely supportive of us kids and we would not be where we are today without him. Okay, maybe only one of us is super successful at adulting, but none of us are serial killers. That I know of. It could be worse. Happy birthday dad!
Rory is one tough lady, but even tough ladies need help sometimes.
After a very mom-guilt injury, Rory had a crooked nose. Easily confirmed by looking at Abby for a baseline.
She knew she was going to the Dr where daddy works, but daddy wasn't there today.
But Eliza was!!! Eliza has been our med-school friend and neighbor since the girls were 5 months old, so Rory was very happy that she was there (although she didn't mention it until we got in the van). I'm so happy that the girls have adults in their lives who truly love and care for them, and that became very apparent this week.
Accidents happen. Everything is fine. X-rays say not broken. Treatment plan: Motrin and house call follow ups from Eliza.
Giant ice disc, Westbrook, Maine. Went to check out this natural phenomenon that’s garnering world wide attention this evening. It’s been slowly rotating in the same spot for days and had frozen to a stop last night. While I was there a kayaker was working to break the disc free and succeeded! Pretty cool to see this natural oddity in motion! For more, check out my stories. #nature_perfection

When looking for a "before" photo for Downtown Augusta's #10yearchallenge, I stumbled upon the article below, along with the photo on the left from 2013. Yes, yes... not quite 10 years, but what an amazing difference in only 6 years! 😳🤩 The before picture was taken for an article about the Augusta Downtown Alliance asking the City of Augusta to partner with us to hire a downtown manager and officially become a Main Street Maine community. Notice how we were not very relevant back then... they didn't even get the name of our organization correct (they mention "association") Fast forward 6 years, and the photo on the right is one that DostiePhoto took at our first Halloween event this past October. What a change. An AMAZING change. For those out there who have seen the "little" progress downtown, believe me, it hasn't been a little change at all. It has taken YEARS of hard work and battling the stereotypes, the nay-sayers and the negative emotions associated with downtown for generations.
THIS is why we do what we do - the change is huge, and it is going to change the way Augusta is viewed, and enjoyed for generations to come! Thank you to the City of Augusta for ultimately taking the chance on the ADA, your investment in our downtown has spurred millions of dollars in private investment, and a cultural shift in our great city!

Daryl here. I’ve been told I’m too bitey. I’m learning though. There’s a rumor I may be going into the K9 Corrections program so I can learn how to be a good dog... I know when I grow up I’m going to be big and strong and paws crossed... have learned my manners. #hound#muttsofinstagram

#tbt to last summer when I took my little nephew on his first big adventure up #borestonemountain 😊⛰🎥 #bdlbtravels#maine#thewaylifeshouldbe (What this video doesn’t show is me carrying him down most of it... but who am I kidding?! I love pretty much any excuse to get hugs from this little guy 🤷🏼♀️)
Who’s ready for all the snow we’re getting this weekend?! Just went to the grocery store to stock up on junk food and wine 🤷🏻♀️. Can’t wait to hunker down and snack my heart away. #authenticlovepresets
Last night we were talking about how we’ve changed or if we have changed over the past few years. I said I have learned to separate my energy from others. He said “I was gonna say you have a nice butt 🤣” 🤷🏻♀️ I mean it’s true 😆🍑 But what we’ve learned together, is that when one of us needs the other to be strong, or stable, or emotional, the other is there to rise up💕 It’s not about waiting for something to be fixed, it’s about being that hand that reaches out and says “stand up, let’s go”. Picking up on ticks that we know the other isn’t all there that day. And about always being open to learn from each other, so we can grow and support each other through life.
You give me strength, clarity, support, drive and a whole lot of drive to go outside my comfort zone 💥 thanks babe. I love you ❤️ #thankfulthursday@fowlfly12

This is a shot I took yesterday on my walk. I’m deeply saddened to hear today of Mary Oliver’s passing. As a poet and poetry teacher, I’ve been profoundly influenced by her, and I’ve used her Poetry Handbook in my introductory poetry workshops for many years. Right now I’m thinking of these final lines from “Wild Geese”: “Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, / the world offers itself to your imagination, / calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting— / over and over announcing your place / in the family of things.” ✨
