“Do stuff. Be clenched, curious. Not waiting for inspiration’s shove or society’s kiss on your forehead. Pay attention. It’s all about paying attention. Attention is vitality. It connects you with others. It makes you eager. Stay eager. Love everyone. Every leaf. Every ray of light. Forgive.” — Susan Sontag (tag someone you love ❤️)

Inspired by the @abidingtogetherpodcast podcast. The concept of stories has always been deeply important to me—I believe stories can communicate deeper truths than we ourselves ever intend them to as authors. By writing stories we are engaging with the Father in His most personal art form, and I believe he is writing through us in ways we’ve never comprehended.
To be reminded that even before my birth, before my doubts, before my struggles, God had already written the last page of my story, crossed the last ‘t’, and allowed the ink to dry on the page is both insane and deeply comforting. I do not have to fear what comes next because God has already authored that page and all the sequential ones. There is a future for me and in spite of all my despondencies God will carry me through to his most beautiful and perfect ending. •
What else does one read while packing for a trip to Melbourne? 🥰✈️ But that ending... oh friends, not what I was expecting! 🤦♀️

10 years have passed since I took that photo on the left. I still think about this kid I met while patrolling through the streets of Baghdad. He had so much vitality & spirit despite the harsh environment.
I remember thinking, “How do kids thrive in a place like this? Why does he have to deal with poverty and death while the rest of the world worries about frivolous things?” .
I lifted up a prayer for him as I gave him a hug after this photo. He was 7 years old pictured there - the age of my son now. I wonder if he’s doing alright — Iraq is still a mess. .
Tonight, I hugged my son tighter as I tucked him in and wondered how the world will be in another 10 years.
Ahhhh what a glorious sight... I remember first reading the Harry Potter series when I was around 19 years old, late to the party but better late than never! It was right around the time the final film was being released and some friends recommended me reading the actual books first as I had only seen the first 4 movies but something drew me into actually flipping the pages, and I’m so glad that I did. The characters are so rich and full, the environment so detailed and thoroughly developed. It’s definitely unlike anything I had ever read before. I actually went ahead and read Year 7 and worked my way backwards which seems really odd now but I still enjoyed the stories all the same! I distinctly remember thinking to myself, “I’m gonna buy me that nice trunk with all the hardcover copies and share them with my kids one day!” so it was perfect to have “Santa” deliver these to my son for Christmas this last year. Something about the Winter season makes these books especially... well.. special. All day I find myself waiting to get home in bed all toastied up with my boy and delving into this world. 📖🔮⚡️🐉✍🏼 #nowreading#harrypotter#potterhead#jkrowling#wizardingworldofharrypotter#books#stories
