  • Swipe left to see my awkward self ten years ago 🙈 . . Decided to join the fun and do a 10 year comparison of myself to my baby self in 2008. Had to really dig! . . These are basically both the first and last time I went to Mexico. When I first went, I was 16 and on a cruise with my parents at a stop in Cozumel, and the recent photo being from my time in Tulum! . . List of things that have changed: 1. I stopped caring as much about what people think about me. Back in high school, I was SO nervous to talk to ANYONE. I had a small group of friends, and everyone else I would basically assume thought the worst of me before I even opened my mouth. 🙊 Now I just don’t give a fuck, because the people I want to associate with won’t be so easily scared off anyways. 😉 2. Obviously I don’t have raccoon eyes anymore and my haircut is SLIGHTLY better lol 🤷🏼‍♀️ 3. But most importantly, I’ve learned to love myself despite my imperfections and to drive my life in the direction I want to live. I’ve dealt with depression for most of my life, but traveling has been the one thing that opened my eyes to how good I actually have it, and how much left I have to see. There will always be another adventure to go on and a new place to see, and DAMN does that make me excited to be alive. 👏🏼 . . Things that didn’t change... my height lol. 🙈 I also definitely still own that pooka shell necklace haha. . . What has been your biggest takeaway looking back on the last ten years?! 😳

I can't stand the shitty climate and weather in HK now🤮

  • Bugun #tbthursday Melbourne Avustralyadan geliyor. A: "EVERYTHING!" In Bangkok's Chinatown (aka Yarowat) that's an even tougher question because there are too many options! I let @tasteofthailand tours make all the decisions for me! We had Crispy Oyster omlette and Pad Thai, Pepper Pork Rolled Noodle soup, Lod Chong dessert, fresh Chinese donuts, dim sum, and dessert #2 but I was distracted and played with a stray cat instead haha it was a fun evening. The saving grace is that this is a walking tour so I worked off assume calories as e went along! Thanks to our wonderful tour guide Jenny and my tour mate @hairdressedforadventure! // #BangkokEats #shareamazingthailand #aroiihere

  • For the past couple of days I am having these random thoughts about life. Things that should matter to me, things that matter to everyone else. When I scroll through my feed on any social media platform, it's all about people getting married, having kids, honeymooning etc etc. I don't know if all that I am doing is taking me somewhere or I am just killing time but is that making me any less happier? Well, no they aren't but its weird how sometime you start to question yourself because of all these values everyone had induced in you since the day you were born. Sit like a girl, behave like a girl, don't laugh out loud, don't talk much, get married before 30, men first and everything else. I think this social pressure that I sometime feel, would have forced our parents to preach what they did. May be everyone was or is too busy in their lives to think about why. Why does it have to be a certain way when it works just fine some other way for most. It's like we figured out a safe algorithm overtime and everyone is just following all steps without questioning it's effectiveness, complexities. Things have changed, we have changed, lifestyle is changed but some things still remain. I am not sure if we should still play safe or break free. #randomthoughts . 'Don't be in the sun for too long kaali hojaogi, kaun shadi karega' being one of the many things that I care so much about(given my super tanned and sun burnt skin here). Also sitting proper as you can see 😏

  • Yes, this actually happened 🇲🇽 ⠀ 🇲🇽 Xcalak, Mexico 🇲🇽 ⠀ Just across the border with Belize lies this paradise of a stretch of land called costa Maya. ⠀ After passing the more “famous” spots in Yucatan such as Merida, Cancun, Tulum and the more northern parts of Costa Maya, we headed to the southernmost tip of the strech of beaches and arrived in Xcalak. ⠀ By far the most off-the-beaten-track place in Mexico we had visited, with no restaurants, shops or any modern conveniences, and only a couple of guesthouses, where you could really “get away from the hustle of you daily life.” ⠀ Unfortunately I don’t have any landscape photos from the trip so this rather eccentric monkey will have to do. 🇲🇽

  • Diary day 120📒  today marks 4 months since I left home!! I woke up this morning still feeling pretty ill but determined to do something. I was planning on doing the tarraw cliff hike after finally managing to find a guide to take me (it's super tough and often closed due to accidents) but decided not to as I'm far from 100% and it's dangerous at the best of times! Instead I did the much more vanilla but good fun canopy walk which only takes about 10 mins to get to the top but has ace views of El Nido. The guy who took me up, Sandy, was super friendly and we chatted about karaoke, basketball and the liberation of women around the world (he wanted to know if topless sun bathing is a big priority for the feminist movement 😅). Afterwards I grabbed some food in town and chilled out at the hostel before getting the bus back to Port Barton. I prefer the vibes there: the boat tours are better and accomodation cheaper and nicer than el Nido 😊 I made great time and spent the rest of the day chilling out and eating good food. 🔹 🔹 🔹 #travel  #solotravel #mytraveldiary #traveldiary #travelgram #travelasia  #lovetravel #backpacking #sheisnotlost #solotraveller  #travelgram #365project #aphotoaday #travelblog #travelling #othersideoftheworld  #traveltheworld #instapassport #explore #globetrotting  #phillipines #elnido #view
