Goal: cut the length shorter and make the ends blunt but slightly beveled.
Step 1: I cut all her hair at natural fall.
Effect: Just like the diagram, if I take a vertical section on her hair, you’d see that all it falls to one point. This caused her perimeter to be blunt.
Step 2: Then I took a vertical section on the center back of her head and pulled the section straight out. I dropped majority of the hair out because I wanted to keep the perimeter still kinda blunt. I cut just a bit off perpendicular to the floor. I connected what I was cutting to the length of the hair on the bottom of the section I was holding.
Effect: Leaving out majority of the hair on the bottom, caused the perimeter to remain blunt. Pulling the hair on top straight out of the head shape and cutting a line perpendicular to the floor caused the hair to bevel. Why? Since the head shape is round, it caused the hair I cut to be shorter on the bottom and longer on the top. It’s like a I put a little baby graduation on top of a line / one-length haircut. ❤️🍼✂️😊
I hope this inspires you to #1 mix and match the fundamentals to customize something for your clients, #2 that little changes make a difference, and #3 it’s really all just about “short hair pushes longer hair”. Love you guys!! ❤️❤️❤️
The #10yearchallenge has been going around and sure it has been fun and shocking to see how our physical appearances have changed. But what about internally? .
I know for me, I am a totally different person than I was 6 years ago.. 10 years ago, I was 19 and lost. I was trying to find myself.. which lead to many hard struggles. .
The girl on the left was deep in an eating disorder, empty and closed off... The person I am today totally changed! I am 5 years into recovery, authentic and happy!
Years can do a lot. Heck!! A month of growth can do a lot! It’s not always a physical change. Embrace growth. It does really good things to your mind, body and spirit ♥️
PRECISION ✂️ in a world of dry cutting and texturizing (myself included) it’s nice sometimes to get back to the fundamentals of haircutting 💡 How many of you feel more comfortable with color? How many would like more cutting education?? #haircut#hair#shorthair#hairvideo
Couldn’t help myself. 10 years ago I had short hair, no eyebrows and did teaching in Katherine, NT. I then got a job in a small town called Drouin. Today I live in D-town, with my beautiful family and friends. I also have eyebrows and long hair - which I’m about to cut off!! #10yearchallenge#inmyownskin#shorthair#longhair#shaveforacure
