Another absolute gem I had the chance to try at the London Whisky Exchange Show. The Highland Park 40 year old single malt whisky. Such an amazing dram, it delivered soft hints of manuka honey with undertones of green fruits, grassy heather and gentle smoke. Such a lengthy linger with subtle marzipan, sherry, marmalade and a little spice to finish it off, amazing! 🥃
Oh the glow of a clarified milk punch.⭐ This cocktail, while presented simply, tastes anything but. With elements like Bacardi rum, scotch, coconut, milk, pineapple, coffee and spices, the Coffee Milk Punch is a delicious and complex sip. I savoured this drink in the café portion of @soberspeaker's 3 in 1 concept @sober_company, which includes a coffee shop serving tea and coffee cocktails, a restaurant and a speakeasy. Really hoping to get to the latter 2 spaces before I leave Shanghai!

Spirit of York Rye Whisky - 46% ABV👃🏼: ALCOHOL, orange peel, honey... wow the smell of alcohol is over powering... 👅: fresh squeezed lemon, lemon peel, leather (just a bit), molasses, raw sugar - Finish: Tannic, warm, short, I just let it sit in my palette for 10 mins and the flavour of clementines appeared, so unexpected but enjoyable!...SCORE: 7/10 I will revisit this again soon!

Sevan was a very generous host & I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to try 2014 #michters20#michters#michtersbourbon this 20 year old bourbon is quite amazing and just to have had it at the start of the year it’s going to be hard to find something to top this dram! The nose hits you in the face with dense maple, sweetness, oak and molasses, and the taste... the taste is pretty damn amazing, taste nothing like the 10year. If you have an opportunity to try it be sure to grab a dram! Not only that.. the cork busted and sev worked his magic to recover lol
Picked up this Old Malt Cask Bowmore at K&L a few weeks ago for $150. Being a big fan of Islay and Bowmore in general, I just couldn’t pass up this deal. We opened it up recently and for me it definitely didn’t disappoint. Over the holidays I was totally blown away by the amount of single casks that were being released from many heavy hitting distilleries. Like a kid in a candy shop 🤤
