Take a look at a few of my kids projects from “Puppy Prosthetics”! Several groups really put some effort and thought into your design. As a class, they came up with their own criteria/constraints, and developed their own test criteria!
I can’t remember where I first saw this, but this was so much fun to test out when I needed to be away for a workshop! 🍿
I remember being a guest teacher, and it can be hard to have the kids follow along - especially when you aren’t sure of classroom dynamics and the teachers routines, and expectations. I try to ensure when I need to be away, there’s added incentive for my class to be wonderful for whoever is teaching them that day! Sometimes, something really simple works best! (And if you try this - you get to enjoy some popcorn too! 😉) What classroom management tricks do you have that help guest teachers who are in your classroom? 🍿

Love this idea from @adventuresofmssmith_ ! Buddy’s quote changes daily - and it’s so fun to see their reaction when they come in each morning and see what he has to say! Thank you, Katie for the fantastic idea! 🤩 (Also, at least ten times a day, someone tells me, “someone’s at the door!” And I’m still fooled every time 🤦🏼♀️ who else is feeling ready for Christmas vacation? 🙋🏼♀️🎄) Also featured is our classroom kindness wreath! Each student received a piece of holly with a classmates name, and wrote a heartfelt compliment, which we put together as a way to welcome others into our learning space! ❤️
It’s going to be a Wonderful Wednesday💫 (and if I say it enough to myself, it will happen - right?!) I am loving this routine this year with my students! Once a week, on whatever day feels like we need it the most, we make sure everyone receives a kind message or compliment. We display these compliments all week, and students take them home on Friday to share with families! Our shout-outs board always makes my heart ❤️ so happy when I take a read of their messages to each other. They can add shout-outs at any time, but this is an easy way for me to ensure no one goes home without one! Thank you @selebrateyou for sharing what you do to foster social emotional learning in your room!
It’s been such a wonderful way to build community in the classroom, and foster kindness! 👫💕
