  • One of my all time favourite curry is Saag Paneer. This Classic recipe is seasonal, healthy and absolutely comforting. Oh yes, just soo delicious too. Remember fresh, healthy food doesn’t have to be boring! { Saag - Winter Greens , Paneer - Indian Cottage Cheese } We make this curry in winter months, when Mustard Greens and Spinach are available in abundance. All made in my @panasonickitchen NN-DS596b Combination Microwave oven and ready in just under 30 minutes. I have used this fantastic piece of kitchen essential for 3 months+ now. It can heat, bake, grill and steam as well. Here's how you can make it Ingredients 1 Tsp Oil 1 large onion, finely chopped 1 large tomato, chopped 2 Cloves Garlic, minced 2 Tsp grated ginger 2 green chilli, minced 2 Cup Mustard Greens, stemmed & finely chopped 4 Cup Spinach, stemmed & finely chopped 4 Tsp of dried fenugreek leaves 2 Tsp Garam Masala 1/2 Tsp Chilli Powder 1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder 250g Paneer, toasted 2 Tbsp Maize Flour 1 Cup Water Salt to taste Directions 1. Place the onions, tomato, garlic, ginger, green chilli and oil in a large microwave proof casserole dish. Stir to combine.Place in the oven and cook on STEAM 1 + LOW MICROWAVE for 10 min. 2. Add mustard greens, spinach, turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala and 1 Cup of water to the onion mixture. Cook on STEAM 1 + LOW MICROWAVE for another 10 min. 3. Transfer the mixture to the blender + any remaining stock, maize flour and grind them to a coarse paste. 4. Return the saag mixture to the casserole dish. Season with salt as needed. Cook on MICROWAVE HIGH for 5 min. 5. Gently stir in the toasted paneer & dried fenugreek leaves to the saag. Serve with Naan Bread.   • Sal’s Kitchens - Sarson Ka Saag with Makki Roti (Corn Meal) Every Punjabi’s Home Winter Favourite! Made with Sarson (mustard leaves), Palak (Spinach) and Bathua Leaves (chenopodium album) - If you take 3 bunches of sarson leaves, take 1 Palak and 1 bathua. Blanched to perfection and churned using a hand mixer (don’t make a paste) Mildly Tempered in Ghee with ginger, garlic, green chillies and sometimes onions and tomatoes. Avoid using any masalas to retain the authenticity of the saag. Add a tiny piece of jaggery is added to balance the taste. Topped with oodles of White Butter and served extremely piping hot with hot Makai Roti!
