The business of snow and ice removal is time sensitive – people rely on you to ensure that the world can keep moving, even when the snow (and the temperature) keeps falling. • An elderly woman was nearly run over in a McDonald's parking lot as she tried to confront the man who robbed her inside just seconds before. So what should YOU do in a situation like this? 1. First, you can't prevent what you can't see. 2. When you are disadvantaged, bite the bullet. The known fact is "someone stole my valuables." The unknown fact is "what will happen if I confront this person? What he is capable of?" 3. If you're quick to react, put your hand on the bag while using the voice and if needed (&possible), escalate. Perpetrators choose victims based a few factors; 1. Physical disadvantage (smaller size, perceived as weak, physically impaired/limited. 2. Body language that implies a lack of confidence. 3. Socially submissive Thank you again, @InsideEdition & @meganjalexander1 • • • #kravmaga #kravmagaexperts #insidedition #selfdefense #safetytips #selfdefenseforwomen #selfdefensetips #safetyfirst #news #onthenews #nyc #beabadass #staysafe

  • My 11 mos. old, 160lb., furry, self-defense tool on my morning walk.😍 🔷 If you are someone who likes to walk or run outdoors but doesn’t feel safe doing it alone and you don’t have a dog, consider volunteering at your local #HumaneSociety or animal shelter to walk dogs. 🔷 It’s what I did in College and when I lived in Southern California. I got to hang out with dogs, we all got exercise and I felt safer walking outside in unfamiliar areas. 🔷 If there’s something you love to do but you don’t feel safe doing it alone, there are options. Find one you feel comfortable with (walking dogs, carrying a personal alarm, Mace, tactical flashlight, tactikey, etc.) so you can keep doing the things you love AND see beautiful sunrises. Don’t let fear stop you.👊 #situationalawareness #beaware #bettersafethansorry #volunteeringforthewin #doglovers #collegelife #yougotthis #safetytips @j5tacticalflashlights @macebrand @tactikey

  • XMAS VACATION IS BAE! It's one thing leaving your home for a two-week vacation with your family, it's another thing coming back to meet everything as you left it with no issues. As Christmas approaches, we understand you need to travel down to visit your relatives. We've heard at least one horror story about a family returning home from long vac only to find that pipe has burst in their absence or their house has been broken into. Problems like this can cause a lot to fix. Few things you can do to prevent security breaches while you're off on family adventure are: 1. Try and keep it from public knowledge. It's tempting to post your vacation photos in the moment, but your safest bet is to wait after you return home. You can probably make your posts viewable to friends only if you cant resist. 2. Illuminate the hiding spots by installing outdoor security lights. 3. Your hiding spots for keys aren't as clever and safe as you think. Collect all keys from anywhere outside before you are out of town. 4. Unplugging nonessential electronics protects them against electric surges and fire risk. 5. Consider shutting off the water supply to each toilet at the very least, and to the dish washer, washing machine, etc 6. In an intense rainstorm, if the water has nowhere to go, it could accumulate too close to the house, saturate the ground and seep into your basement 7. It is safe to have a trusted friend to check in around for you.
