  • The next John Le Carré George Smiley novel that I have on my #tbr and that I need to start. I’m thinking I’m going to write all the titles of #tbr and put them in a bowl! I’d only end up changing my mind anyway! * Blurb: When the Department - faded since the war and busy only with bureaucratic battles - hears rumour of a missile base near the West German border, it seems like the perfect opportunity to regain some political standing in the Intelligence market place. The Cold War is at its height and the Department is dying for a piece of the action. Swiftly becoming carried away by fear and pride, the Department and her officers send deactivated agent Fred Leiser back into East Germany, armed only with some schoolboy training and his memories of the war. In the land of eloquent silence that is Communist East Germany, Leiser's fate becomes inseparable from the Department's.

  • Q: If you could have any 3-5 fictional characters on your own private council to help you make important life decisions, who would they be? —————————— I was really excited by the premise of Neil Gaiman’s urban fantasy, Neverwhere. I loooove urban fantasy. While ultimately I did enjoy reading it, it didn’t captivate me the way I’d hoped it would. Gaiman is a genius with words; it was beautifully written and the mythology was intriguing, but I felt disconnected from the characters through most of it. I wanted to sink into it but that never happened. There is a lot of brevity in his prose which is great most of the time, but I think it was partially to blame for the characters feeling distant. Emotional scenes were passed over quite quickly. ——————————— I really want to read American Gods this year. It’s been on my TBR list foreverrrr and now that it’s a TV show, I’m even more anxious to read it so I can check out the adaptation (which looks awesome). Has anyone read/watched it? Thoughts?

• Yesterday I wrote a post on my blog declaring that I was going to take a break from it. That's right. No more blogging. At least not as much about so many things. It may be selfish, but I need to focus more on me and my life rather than how often I post and how aesthetically pleasing my Instagram is all the time. I have a book to write. My energy this year is going to go to creating my dream rather than my feed. .

  • 5 very happy stars.let me start by saying that it was my first paranormal read & I started it with so much uncertainty that I dnf it.Two things that put this in my DNf list were-1)its a teenage romance & though I read it 3-4 years back ,I thought myself to b a little old for such teenage stuff.2)it was a paranormal genre.Initially I was of the opinion that i wont b able to enjoy anything paranormal by READING it.But oh boy Jennifer proved me so freaking wrong. Her writing is precise & skilled. All the action scenes were so well written that it felt so realistic.I completed this series so fast ,I literally tortured my poor eyes. Both the leading characters were so much fun to read. Both were badass in thier own way with lots of fire.I lvd each & every banter of theirs. The development of their relationship by the end of the series will burn u to the core.So if you are looking for a paranormal romance wid mystery & feisty characters do give it a go.

  • Ok so I started and finished this within an hour and a half. I have owned it for ages and not gotten round to reading it. I decided I fancied it tonight so read it. I slipped straight back in the the Divergent world and it’s made me want to read the other books again at some point. It was good to read about Four before Tris arrived and then his point of view after she arrived. I keep picturing Theo James which is always a bonus! Great quick read.

  • On Monday I went shopping and had my first book hall! I had so much fun getting these books, and had a good conversation with the women at the till. She also just recently cancelled her Fairyloot subscription! (What a small world) Meeting someone who use to get Fairyloot boxes x 💛 The books that are in this picture are: - Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi - Nevernight by Jay Kristoff - Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo - Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas - The Cruel Prince by Holly Black - Cinder by Marissa Meyer - Killing Floor by Lee Child - A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas 💛 Q: What are you currently reading? A: I am currently reading Time Convert by Deborah Harkness 💛 I was tagged by @thebookreverie_yt to do the #readinghabitsbooktag 💛 - When do you read the most? I read the most during the evening before bed. - Do you read one book at a time? Yes! I don’t think I could read more than one book at a time, I would get so confused. - Read books or watch movie first? Well I like to read books first, but with A Discovery of Witches I ended up watching the first series which introduced me to the books. - Do you stop reading at any stop or do you have to stop at a certain page/chapter? I have to stop at a chapter, I can’t stop anywhere as I would get confused on what has happened. - Do you have a certain bookmark you use? I like to use the fairyloot bookmarks when reading the monthly book, and my personal bookmarks from my bestie for my other books 😍 💛 #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookworm #booklover #bibiophile #booknerd #bookstagramcommunity #readerslife #magicalreads #bookishfeed #cosyreads #yabooks #booklove #bookaddict #booksofinstagram #bookcommunity #welovebooks #bookblogger #booksforlife #bookrefuge #myrefuge #book #bookclub #reading #readingnook #tag #bookhaul #waterstones

  • The third book in the George Smiley series by John Le Carré. I went and bought a multiple book box set written by him just knowing I’d like him as an author. And some more after that. And I did like his books as soon as I read the first one. * Blurb: Alex Leamas is tired. It's the 1960s, he's been out in the cold for years, spying in the shadow of the Berlin Wall for his British masters. He has seen too many good agents murdered for their troubles. Now Control wants to bring him in at last - but only after one final assignment. He must travel deep into the heart of Communist Germany and betray his country, a job that he will do with his usual cynical professionalism. But when George Smiley tries to help a young woman Leamas has befriended, Leamas's mission may prove to be the worst thing he could ever have done.
