✨This weeks #quotesfromthecouch is REACH OUT✨
It’s easy for me to get down in the dumps when I’m feeling isolated. When I’m in need of connection, I’ve learned it’s best to reach out to friends/family instead of waiting around for them to contact you. Getting bummed about them not getting in touch first just helps perpetuate the downward spiral, and I feel so much better after reaching out. It also sets the ground-work for more frequent convos in the future! ✨
I hope this helps someone in need reach out! Check back every Thursday for my #quotesfromthecouch series where I’ll talk about therapy and mental health 🤓 Thanks for tuning in!

In #jamaica need a real car/toy #reachout My friend just upgraded and is releasing this toy for a ridiculous steal #smh@onealsjohnson tell him. I sent ya ..any issues hit me 😂
Let’s get one thing clear... “side hustles” are never a bad idea. And here’s why 👇
Braden and I try really hard to live debt free, which is why we haven’t had a car payment in a couple years. (There’s just something about driving a car that’s 100% paid for and 100% yours, am I right?) Well, insert 2019.
On the 2nd day of the year, I total the car. Not my fault, nothing I could have done to change the outcome. TOTALLY unforeseen circumstances.
On the 5th day of the year, our Golden Retriever isn’t able to put weight on her back leg. Torn ACL, requires surgery (a really expensive one at that). Not her fault, nothing we could have done to change the outcome. Once again, TOTALLY unforeseen circumstances.
So, you could say 2019 has started off as an expensive year for us. Oh, and let’s not forget... we have a baby on the way 👶🏼=💰💰💰 But here are a couple things I know.. my husband works really. REALLY. hard for his family. Not a day goes by that I’m not abundantly thankful for how he provides. And something we are both thankful for? My “side hustle”, which pays just as well as most full-time, 40-hour week hustles except with no limit on earning potential. #thinkaboutthat
So shopping for that new car? A LOT less stressful because we have cushion provided by my R+F paycheck.
And that surgery coming up next week? Covered ✔️ No digging into savings, 401k, or investments.
So tell me, what are YOU doing to prepare for those unforeseen circumstances coming in 2019? Maybe it’s time you start looking into starting your own business. #reachout I just so happen to work for the most LEGIT side hustle there is, if you ask me. 💁🏼♀️
#BeforeTheInternet#Challenge by #ChannelTheSun: 👋🍌📲
1. Post an original photo / video / story / art / song on IG from Before the Internet existed and hashtag #BeforeTheInternet#ChannelTheSun for a chance to be Featured in the 4th Issue of our print magazine, posted on our IG and in the music video we are shooting for "Before the Internet" with @stackmoses
What was life like before the Internet? How is it now? And where do you think our future is heading? We feel that the web can be used to create and connect the world in ways that have only had their surface scratched, let's make some Cavewoman art together and spread this undying passion and love through the wires... Also, let’s coin some new terms: “B.I.” (Before Internet) and A.I. (After Internet). If you were born B.I. tell us what that was like and if you were born A.I. can you imagine how life must of been? Psyched to see what y’all reflect back to us

We all have hard times. We all need someone weather it be in the wee hours when everything seems so much worse, or someone just to say everything is gonna be ok. Be a friend, ask "are you ok" "fancy a coffee or a chat" just the smallest of gestures often means alot to a person. We all have the run too person in times of need. Some people don't have that. Just that one small act will make all the difference and stay with that person forever ❤ #friend#kindness#companion#help#support#reachout#love#quote#picoftheday#friends
Friday vibes! Definitely got a chance to bloom this morning from some really encouraging time chatting and learning about how someone else does their business. Lots of great nuggets of wisdom, growth and laughter. A lovely cup of chai tea was involved too - BONUS!
Hope your Friday is getting along quite well and you have an extra ‘spring’ in your step because of a kind word, smile given or a shared time blooming!
I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Moving, growing up, changing habits, having kids.... all of these things we experience as adults can make it really hard to find and KEEP good friends. Relationships with anyone outside of our immediate family become secondary and we often times find ourselves randomly realizing that we have no friends, few friends, or what I call “surface level” friends.
Moving to a new community every few years with the military has made this “having friends” thing almost impossible. But, it’s either try hard to build my community when I move somewhere and know that I’ll be sad when I leave... or be lonely the whole time I live there.
I’ve noticed that it’s not just military families that struggle to have good friends and good community, it’s a lot of people. Like.... A LOT.
And that’s why I’m so thankful for this month.
I moved here last March. I went to every networking event, small business, young professionals group that I could find. I went door to door to small businesses to introduce myself and try to find people to build my network and most importantly FIND FRIENDS.
This opportunity to speak was one of my favorites. Crestview PILOT is a group of professionals that are trying to do business better by doing community outreach, supporting each other’s efforts in whatever way they can, but most importantly by becoming FRIENDS.
Friends that do business together stay together. Friends that do business together help eachother in ways you can’t explain.
Thank you Crestview Chamber PILOT Committee for your amazing support yesterday of my speech. I am so excited to see what great things we can bring to Crestview and eachother.
Finding your community, your friends, your support network is tough, but the effort is worth the struggle. It’s taken awhile to truly fit in here, but this month and the opportunities and friendships I’ve developed have proved to me that the effort was worth it.
If you’re struggling to feel supported, find friends, connect with people whether they are businesses or simply individuals-> reach out to me. If I don’t know who or how, I know someone who does.
Since the beginning of the interweb.... Webinars have been hyped up like they are some magically insane life changing experience.... But most of us know they are mostly FLUFF & FIREWORKS!
Next week this changes..... We are completely flipping the script on what a webinar is. We are getting right to the point, pedal to the metal, FULL SPEED AHEAD.
Fluff and fireworks aside, just the information you need at the time you may need it.
Drop a "LETS DO THIS!" in the comments if you are interested in the New, Right To The Point Information that we will be releasing.
Where do you find your JOY? I find it in making and creating. I’ve always wished I was more artsy and I love watching creative people make their art. When I found out that I can create pretty things without having to be ‘artsy’ I said ‘sign me up’. 🙋🏻♀️.
.A friend was having a bad day, so I made this plate, baked some cookies and dropped them off with a warm hug. 💛
It’s not even 12 o’clock yet and today is AMAZING
Got hired for a second job this morning AND received my first coaching paycheck!
I AM SO GRATEFUL

#RepostSave@psnafrica with @repostsaveapp ・・・ Every one of my maternal instincts flew through the window. And so did my baby. At least that's what happened in my head. I could visualize it perfectly. I could hear her high pitched voice growing lower and lower as she fell down. Although I thought about it for a moment, it scared me to my core. Was I totally flawed as a mother? Do good mothers think about slapping their babies till they kept quiet? Post partum disarray is a dish best consumed with company but I ploughed through it mostly alone. It took me a long time of browsing through feeds of other moms and reaching out to finally understand that there was nothing wrong with me as long as I didn't act on it. If you've ever wondered if you're alone in those thoughts, you're not. If you feel something, say something. This is me reaching out, because sometimes we moms need to hear we're not the only one. 📸: @postpartumstress

TRY NOT TO CRY: To cap-off our 1st #StartWithHello week, students did a #lipsyncchallenge. Two singers got shy & uncomfortable when the entire bleachers leapt up to join them—creating a chorus of support. Teachers were moved to tears. THIS is exactly what we strive for at our schools and what #CreatingCulture means to us. Being kind, compassionate and open to others isn't always easy—but that never stops us from trying. We may be a #smalltown in the middle of nowhere, but we’ve got enough heart to fill an ocean. #GKCogs
GKHS librarian Tara Wilkins captured the moment: "I have to share something that happened during our Start With Hello assembly today that just moved me profoundly. It is just another example of how special and dear our kids at GKHS are. Most staff members down on that gym floor were moved to tears when this happened, at least every one I saw. Today, during a lip sync challenge during our assembly, two students were a little shy out on the floor. Before we knew it, their classmates were leaping out of the bleachers and running to the makeshift stage to make their classmates feel more comfortable and to unite out on that floor. It was AWESOME. I wish I had a better word, but it’s hard to adequately explain how it impacted me. I hope it moves you too."

Do I have your attention?? Can I stop you for a minute, to share something?? These pictures were from this morning...this morning, like I have been for about two and a half weeks, I walk and jog for about 45 minutes playing Pokémon Go. Yeah, #nerd. I know. I want to let everyone in on what’s been going on in my brain...I’ve been severely depressed and anxious...I’ve had some really deep dark thoughts the past few months and I am working on getting help now. I do this walk every morning to get air, to not feel claustrophobic in my life, to see the water and the wildlife...to feel alive. No the medicine isn’t working that great, and it’s a struggle to get up and do what I need to do every day, let alone get on social media and pretend like it’s all just peachy. I’m sorry to my friends that have had to check on me. I’m sorry to my husband and my family that I haven’t been 100% myself these past few months. But I’m trying. Every day. So this post is absolutely for attention AND awareness. For anyone out there (and I know you’re out there), to find something...anything...to get you through it. Even if it’s freaking Pokémon Go at 9am in the morning walking around your hometown. Thank you to those that have really pushed me to get out and attempt to be social lately. I may be a bump on a log, but just being with people that give even a little shit about me is amazing. Please at least comment an emoji to let me know you’ve read this, because your best friend, your brother or sister, and even your coworker could be putting on a happy face every damn day but inside is fighting to stay alive. #awareness#mentalhealth#letstalk#mentalhealthawareness#mentality#mentalhealthrecovery#weneedtotalk#share#help#reachout#youmeantheworldtome#depression#anxiety#seasonaldepression
