“Sometimes the greatest love is not found in the dramatic scenes that writers immortalize. Often, the greatest manifestations of love are the simple acts of kindness & caring we extend to those we meet along the path of life.” -Joseph Wirthlin

Day 3: “we elves try to stick to the four main food groups- candy, candy canes, candy corn & syrup.”
Occasional mornings up the canyon are an essential for me.
As often as you hear it, it really is important to disconnect and just be with yourself once and awhile.
The isolation and beauty of nature provides a healthy, refreshed mindscape.
Within nature, I have really learned the mental detox is just as important as the physical one.

Yvette + Edgar ✨ so thankful these two were willing to be out in the rain for some really beautiful photos. Such a sweet and adorable couple! 💛
I know the photo quality is terrible, but yesterday Adeline had her 1st gymnastics showcase. This is the first time she has experienced being in front of a crowd and performing. Honestly, she was pretty terrified walking into the building. She absolutely didn't want to go, but she decided to be brave and do it anyway. I'm so proud of her for trying something uncomfortable and new! Guess what.... by the end of her routine she was all smiles, and ready to do it again. The last photo is of her getting a little coaching reassurance before starting. ❤

Random throwback to one of my favorite dress shots of all time! On a beautiful rooftop in Isla Mujeres, Mexico!
At 40 weeks I thought our baby was never going to come out. Amelia was two weeks early so we thought for sure Elsie would be a little early too. She finally came at 40 weeks, 2 days and yesterday she turned one week old.
Being a second time mom has been incredible so far. Knowing what I’m doing has made all the difference and I’m able to just enjoy her. I can already see her growing and changing and all I want is for her to stay little, just a little longer. I’ll post some photos of her soon, promise! #elleandjamesathome photo: @chelseamacorphotography
Because I seem to be in some sort of mid-life breakdown (awakening?), I’m just going with my guts, and writing it all down. I don’t want to forget it. Any of it. And there has been a lot. Some stuff I said I’d never tell a soul, and some stuff I would sing from the mountaintops. The cool thing about getting older, is often, that stuff that you swore you’d never speak of, somehow becomes less tragic, and more endearing. More about the beautiful things that have made you the person that you are, in this very moment. They are colorful now- those things, and we hold them close, and think about them, when we want to smile, and see how far we’ve come.
Things like cutting class to get stoned in your friend’s VW bus. Your first acid trip in your friend’s bedroom, laughing hysterically, praying her parents don’t know. The time you wrecked your mom’s car on the way to a Beastie Boys show, and then walked the rest of the way, because you just couldn’t miss the concert. Your first real heartbreak, or your first real, honest-to-goodness best friend. Two lifetimes ago. We loved hard, and felt deep. And we lived for music and friendship.
When I was eighteen, I married this guy. Probably my first love. I credit him for my big love for the Beatles, my ability to obsessively pick out the baseline in any song, and my interest in all things pagan.
I like that We still carry little bits of people with us on our trek. I like how people can affect our lives, and it shapes us. Forever. I am grateful for my Big Life, and all the people who have had parts in it.
Rest In Peace, Kristian. .

I hope to arrive at my death,
And a little drunk.
As I type this, the online gallery is uploading to my final wedding of season 2. To say I am blessed to have had these opportunities is a complete understatement. My first wedding ever was at the Cheney Place in April 2017 + the last wedding of 2018 was also at the Cheney Place. I am constantly in awe of the story that God is writing for me. Thank you to everyone who has been along for the ride and has cheered me on. @betsyranae keep a lookout for your photographs tomorrow morning! 🌿

Does this still count as “dressing up” even though I’m wearing a beanie? 😅
I wanna be in a city where people lose the sun glasses in winter ..🌚☀️.
I wanted to do something special for the holidays. This time of year always makes me want to shoot commercial content, and so I decided to gather up old and new friends in a big photoshoot party in an attempt to play with making my own holiday campaign. As you can probably tell, my inspiration for the shoot were primarily GAP ads. As a teenager of the early 2000’s, I was heavily influenced by GAP ads and to this day they are still a dream client. I wanted some cohesion throughout the shoots so I dressed everyone in a similar style, chose similar colour tones, and decided to apply the same font over my photographs as a homage to the iconic brand. ✨
Give Yourself. What are your talents, your interests, your point of view? What have you hidden in an attempt to make others happy or to fit in? What dream are you not pursuing out of fear of failure or fear of judgement? I’ve been slowly working on pursuing my own dream, and it’s a lot of hard work and perpetual self-doubt, but I can tell you that going after what you really want is so, so rewarding in countless ways. Just do what you need to do, how you want to do it. People will either get it or they won’t, but don’t let other people tell you what your dream should look like. ✨
