"Small steps in the right direction are better than big ones in the wrong direction." I love this quote - its message is so clear-cut and obvious, right?
It's better to take small steps toward your goal, than to continue to take big steps in the opposite direction of that goal.
I mean, duh.
Most of us have no issue understanding this concept. And while it's definitely valid, it got me thinking...what about the less obvious route to failure?
Let me explain by a slight modification of this quote:
Small steps in the right direction are *just as meaningful* as big steps in the right direction, especially if those big steps cause a rolling slide backwards.
So many people feel the need to "go big, or go home" - and I'm here to say, that might be the right approach for some people. but for many of us, it's not that simple.
For many of us, grandiose plans of big change often causes us to become overwhelmed. we end up taking bigger steps backwards because we got discouraged at the outset, when really we just didn't give ourselves a shot at all.
We bypass the idea of small steps, because in our minds small steps don't produce big results.
I'm here to remind you that way of thinking simply isn't true!
Small steps are just as meaningful as big steps, especially if those small steps keep you moving in the right direction.
You don't have to change your whole life in one day. But one small change today could change your whole life.

So I’ve had the most bittersweet week of my life last week and have totally fallen off but am here to get back on track. This last week, I made an offer on a condo and am now under contract on my first home and I found out that I am being promoted at work. The bitter part happened this weekend when my pup went into Congestive Heart Failure and we had to put her down. She has been my baby for the last 10 years and I am completely heart broken by this. However, Annie (my pup) always was the most positive piece of my life. I always knew that if I had a hard day, I could come home and she would be sitting at the door wagging her tail waiting to give me kisses. Because of this dog, I want to live a more positive life and love each day I’m given as much as I can. So here’s to the last two weeks of this challenge.
