The universe is funny.
If you would’ve asked me what career path I wanted when I was in high school I would’ve said anything but medicine.
I was so terrified of needles and hospitals that when I underwent surgery at 16 years old, a nurse had to hide my IV from my line of vision just to calm me down. Here I am 8 years later and I’ve just landed my first healthcare job as a phlebotomist - where my entire line of work surrounds needles. ♡

Infertility... the best way to conquer your fear of needles.
This container holds only half of the needles used thus far in our journey. The other half gets shoved in the sharps container straight away. Hubby and I worked out that so far I have self administered over 200 injections. Thats 2 a day, for 4 rounds of ovulation induction. That’s not to mention the 30+ blood tests too.
I’m not posting this for a round of applause, or a pat on the back. Moreso to illustrate that for some of us, we have no other choice. We can’t just ‘do it the old fashioned way’. No amount of relaxing, de-stressing or not thinking about it will change our reality. And that’s ok. This is just part of our story.
No doubt once we start IVF we will fill a few more of these containers. Needless to say, when we first decided to ‘try for a baby’, this wasn’t the type of penetration I had imagined 😏

Acupuncturists often bang on about Qi but what actually is it? 🤷🏼♀️
There isn’t a direct translation of what Qi means but what comes close is: the body’s ‘vital energy’ 💫
In a nutshell, without Qi we wouldn’t be alive 🌈
There are different types of Qi, all of which have different functions. Although different, they have an interdependent relationship and so depend on each other for their production and nourishment within the body 👯♀️
Here are just some examples of what Qi does 👇🏻
🌟 nourishes the whole body 🌟
🌟 promotes growth and development 🌟 🌟
🌟 circulates blood 🌟
🌟 regulates body temperature 🌟
🌟 warms the muscles 🌟
🌟 defends and protects the body 🌟
🌟 combats and eliminates disease 🌟
🌟 enables constant change 🌟
Qi is pretty ace stuff 💪🏻🧚🏻♀️💎
