  • Going back through my favorite trips of 2018... I seem to have California on my mind this weekend, perhaps because I'll be back out there later this week (to the coast, not Death Valley). Here is some beautiful morning light on the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes in Death Valley. Swipe to see the rest of the photo -- I feel like this is a decent way to show off landscape orientation photos on Insta as long as the left side of the photo is interesting enough... What a weird thing to think about...

How many of you practice meditation? I used to think it was hard or something “I just can’t focus.”

  • Time to clear my mind and meditate ❤️... How many of you practice meditation? I used to think it was hard or something “I just can’t focus.” . Here’s the beauty of it! All ya gotta do is practice staying present!! If your mind drifts bring your focus back to your breath or in this case I tend to bring it back to the sound of the waves. . 🌊 It gets easier and the benefits are well worth the practice!!! Try it out and let me know how it goes!!! ❤️🙏

  • So I recently got a @googlepixel and I absolutely love it. My iPhone 5 was a replacement for my dead Samsung phone and while it took ok pictures, my new phone is on another level. I snapped this shot of the Barker Dam @joshuatreenps a few weeks ago. We came up the backside of the dam and I was immediately distracted by this old dude setting up a shot with his vintage camera. After having a short discussion with him I turned to see this view and was wowed. I'm usually the type to take 3 or 4 of the same picture but I snapped this shot and it was so perfect I didn't feel the need to take a duplicate. I'm constantly working on my photography so sorry for the #humblebrag but I'm entirely proud of myself for this one.

  • When we visit the coast, I get online & look up the most secluded beaches. 🏝 In this instance, secluded San Diego beaches 😍 While there are often a few locals hanging out, it’s much less people than Ocean, Pacific, Mission, or La Jolla beaches. I can actually hear the waves crashing & it’s easy to find a quiet spot to myself. 🌊 This spot was south of La Jolla, it was called Windansea.

  • I’m looking through our photos from our trip to Lake Tahoe in February. We usually go on a skiing trip each year, and I’m feeling the itch again. Max is over 3 and potty trained, so I would really love for him to be able to take ski lessons this winter. Starting to play with the idea of a trip out west late in the season before my maternity leave ends. I may be overly optimistic, but I’m starting to go stir crazy staying home in Florida in my 3rd trimester!! #tahoesouth #proseccoandpalmtrees #mommyblogger #laketahoe #tahoe #coachmanhotel #skitrip

  • A day hike across the O’Shaughnessy dam and along Hetch Hetchy reservoir to Wapama Falls. Getting a sense of what became the death of John Muir’s spirit. A valley unnaturally flooded a hundred years ago and now impacted by sediment. This sentinel of concrete and steel is arguably less efficient and not so relevant, it serves as more of a graveyard headstone to environmental conservation and a call to improved innovation. However complicated and controversial... dam removal and restoration creates jobs 👍🏼

  • Happy Friday night y’all! Maybe some of you remember my stories from this night but I wanted to share this photo with you guys because it was my first time ever doing paint lighting and I was a bit excited with the results! 😬 Not only that but these trees look so cool! Especially at nighttime 🌳😎✨ For those of you that don’t know what light paining is, it’s just illuminating a subject while taking a long exposure shot. There’s more to it than that but that’s pretty much the main idea. • Some people call these strange trees, “giant plants” but they’re actually called Joshua Trees and you can only find them here in this place! They’re about 2.5 million of them so I guarantee you that you will find one of your needs if you ever find yourself here 😉 You might say so many trees in a desert? Yeah, very weird indeed! Anyways, I asked the moon to move and put itself in the middle top of the tree to make the shot a little more interesting 🙃 Only if it was that simple 🤦🏻‍♂️😄 I hope y’all like this one! 💚🌳🌝 • 📍Joshua Tree National Park, California 🇺🇸

  • One of the best parts of tackling Mt Whitney is discovering the otherworldly Alabama Hills. I’ve spent two all-nighters in this crazy place, so I’ve spent more time in the dark than during the day! House sized boulders in crazy formations, patterns and mini gulches that create endless mazes...I can’t wait to come back and camp here with the kids some day and play the most epic game of hide and seek ever.
