Experiencing our very first #Safari was just one of the reasons that brought us to #Namibia last year.
The country has so much to offer! We climbed the sand dunes of the oldest desert in the world, rode a hot air balloon, slept in a tent during a thunderstorm, watched the stars in a dark sky reserve, met thousands of wild flamingos - and so much more!
Africa definitely took our hearts and I can’t wait to return this year. Read all about our recommendations for Namibia now on thetravelblog.at!
🗺 Have you been on the African continent before? Which country would you recommend?

WE ALL SEEM TO BE LOOKING FOR SOME(THING)ONE
Funny enough sometimes it reminds me of hide and seek game that mum will have with her kids..
You think you have found a PERFECT place.. that no one can see you.. and your mum will pretend for hours she cannot find you cleverly abound the place you’ve hidden.. putting so much joy in your heart... you feel so proud of yourself.. you’ve hidden so well..
It would not be that fun if she just came straight to you and said : here you are.. you would feel kinda looser...
So- same in adult life.. sometimes is good to pretend that we don’t have a f$$king clue where someone is... let them enjoy the moment..
We can always find them when it suits us best...

Killian’s Brandberg Amethyst is still up for grabs! $50 shipped in US
Namibia 🇳🇦 is pretty dry - especially the salt flats in the middle of the oldest desert in the world 🌎 It’s amazing how even such an arid place can be so beautiful. It’s a dreamy landscape on an epic scale. Perfect for road trips 🚗 and the dirt roads and moonlike vistas adds a lot to the sense of adventure. So does the lack of cellphone signal, even with local sim cards 📱 We were wondering why the salesman argued we wouldn’t need more than a single GB of data. Turns out, you simply can’t spend it. We can thus imagine it would be a good destination to bring kids - lots of adventure and no possibility of being connected on the iPad. Even for us it gave a little extra incentive to live in the moment and take it all in... Just make sure to download an offline map 🗺 and an offline playlist 🎶 for the long days on the road. Or don’t. You will love Namibia either way 👍 ...

@_jeanne_maria, Jeanne is the next Lusófona to be featured.🎓
Her father, one of eight children, left the island of madeira at the age of 17 in search of a better life. He always worked hard and made it his priority in life to make sure he gave his daughters a good education so that they didn’t have to work the long hours and make all the sacrifices he made in his life.
I have an honours degree in Psychology and also chose the Portuguese language as one of my majors. She studied Psychology at @universidade_do_minho and is also a qualified BASI Pilates Instructor. Jeanne is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Criminology - focusing on Youth Offenders,
She teach middle and secondary school Portuguese as a first and / or Foreign Language at @WindhoekInternationalSchool in Namibia. As for advice, “ Work hard! One of the best teachers I had always said: “Success only comes before Work in the dictionary. Be kind, the world needs more kindness and understanding.” Obrigado Jeanne! ❤️🇳🇦
I thought I’d do a more personal post so you can have a sneak peek of my life besides being a Makeup Artist! This post is about our December holiday... if your interested read on, otherwise just scroll on 🤪 ——————————————————We travelled through the beautiful Namibia for 2 weeks and drove over 6000km through this country. It was my second time visiting this country but this time we drove instead of flew...and we were accompanied by 2 of our close friends - which made it even more fun! I realized that there is so much more to see & explore when traveling by 🚘 ——— If you know me well, you will know I have an in-depth love & appreciation for nature & what blew my mind is how the scenery changed along the way - each unique & beautiful in its own way. Every day was like opening a new gift, as we weren’t sure what the day awaited us. It was so exciting to see different places & explore new things. —————The highlight of my trip was definitely sleeping in #spitzkoppe which is in the middle of nowhere between Henties & Otjiwarongo. We didn’t plan on sleeping there but we couldn’t resist when we discovered this gem of a place on our way to Otjiwarongo. We slept under the stars in tents which they had set up for us... it was only the 4 of us sitting under billions of stars with the fire burning and nothing but silence. —————————————This trip was so amazing, it makes me want to write a book about it. In my opinion, every person needs to do a trip throughout Namibia at least once in their lifetime. ————————————————————You can see I am having post vacay withdrawals by writing this post 10:00 at night.. hope you enjoyed! I would love to hear about your trip? Leave a comment below🤗
Rafiki just taking a break and holding his sore leg before running off again to play! He’s got so much happiness in him! He’s such a gentle, sweet little boy. 🐒🍃

Another tragic story of a little orphaned boy, who found his leg caught in a trap. To free himself from the situation, he chewed off his own leg!
He was extremely scared, wouldn’t come close to anyone. After surgery with the help of lots of love and care, Rafiki is able to run more, climb trees and plays with baby Gypsy.
Rafiki will mark his first week with us shortly, and is doing much better! The look in his eyes shows how much more happier he is being here! He is able to just do his own thing and he loves every moment being at Co’Lu’Bi.
