If Instagram didn’t exist and you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I do think this platform has changed the way we travel, for bad and good. I think I would chose to do a safari in Africa. I’m desperate to go to Botswana but I know the cost so that’s never going to happen so I think I’d like to go to Kenya.
It’s so easy to be pigeonholed into a particular type of imagery, I think that’s largely due to Instagram’s algorithm. Step out your comfort zone and boom, your engagement takes a nose dive. I know we aren’t quite at 31st December but my resolution next year is to visit places I’ve wanted to visit since I was a child, not since Ive had an Instagram account!
How do you all feel about Instagram? Is it a place you come to to be inspired? To escape to? Mine is now my livelihood, which was never in my original plan! But I have been using it a lot more recently as motivation. Not the fancy holidays, but my secret love, cottage renovations 🤣🤣 I have found a whole world of hashtags dedicated to country living, cottage living and farmhouse living. I see so many amazing country homes it just makes me wanted to work harder to one day I can have something like that 🏡
Good Morning Wednesday!! Can you believe this beautiful sunrise!! It’s promising to be a beautiful day! We are off on the school run in a few and I’ll need to find a good chiropractor nearby that can see me real quick, as I fell in the snow Onondaga taking the dogs out. There was a large stone buried under snow left by the contractor I could not see and boom 💥 I fell and my back hurts real bad!
So please wish me luck I need to be fully functional, after all we have loads to do.
Enjoy your 🐪 day 😉
Week of reflection: Day 3. OK, time to get cut throat.
What are you willing to cull from your side-hustle? What do you keep doing that's not bringing back the results, what doesn't feel right? What are you doing just because you ‘should’?
For me this is writing weekly blog posts. I’ve been doing it for most of this year and I realise it’s because I think I ‘should’. Because that’s what people advise, but you know what. I really struggle with writing. It’s the one thing I always leave until the last minute because I know it’s going to be painful. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I wrote and it just flows but more oftern than not I tie myself up in knots and get all emotional before spending 3 hours wrtiting and rewriting a post.
I say, no more. Break the rules, do what feels right for you. So I’m giving myself permission to go for quality, not quantity. I’m going to post just twice a month and start embracing video so that I can cut back on the writing.
What would you like to cull from your side-hustle next year? What are you going to give yourself permission to stop doing?
