𝓗𝓪𝓹𝓹𝔂 𝓟𝓻𝓪𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓬𝓮 2019 🤗
Soo since you really liked my 𝓦𝓪𝓻𝓶 𝓤𝓹 𝓡𝓸𝓾𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓮 that I posted a few weeks ago - here's another one that I'm doing a lot lately!
It's super simple but effective and can be done in a lot of ways.
Here I play the first note always with the whole bow, very light and leave some space for the faster notes.
My 𝓯𝓸𝓬𝓾𝓼 is on a very light finger movement - no pressure .
Feeling how my fingers fall onto the fingerboard and go up afterwards -
also thinking about the bow movement, but keeping it as simple as possible.
In this exercise, try to feel in control of the 𝓣𝓲𝓶𝓲𝓷𝓰 . You decide when you want your fingers to move, you have time!
If you didn't really feel it, do it again ( like I did xD ).
Practice this control and you'll be able to play more controlled afterwards when moving on to your repertoire. 🤗🙌🏻🎻
Let me know if this exercise was helpful and if you'd like me to show you more of those!😊❤
Happy practicing! And much love!😘😘Lelie

Friends! I have so much exciting news to share, including new shows and music placements! But instead of writing about it, I'd rather tell you about it on my first Facebook Live update this Thursday at 7:30 CST. I'm going to be playing one of my songs and talking about it as well, so grab a cup of tea or a beer (or really anything that you'd like to drink (drinks are not required for this, actually)), and hang with me for this pseudo-show. A link to my Facebook page is in my bio. See you Thursday at 7:30!
In other news, since this is a thing and I'm all about bandwagons, here is a photo from me in 2008 competing slam poetry, and my last profile pic taken by Becky Poynter :) 10 years, a wifey, 2 kids, and hundreds of thousands of miles later.... #stillperforming#actorslife#musicianslife#facebooklive#internetconcert
I don’t have a #tenyears side by side to share with you. But I do have this. This is the list of every song I’ve ever written(to the best of my recollection). When I was in high school, and bored in class, I would write out a list of all my songs(which were probably 7 in number). I’d look at the list and wonder if I’d ever write enough material to fill up the page. There was never a question in my mind about whether I would stick with this insane life choice; I knew I would. I just didn’t know what it would look like.
Now here I am, I’m middle aged, and I’m still bored during my daily 8 hrs of institutionalization, and I’m still doing it. Still writing, still singing, still playing and recording, and still day dreaming about how to do it next time.
This is what I’ve been whittling away at for the last 22 years. I’d say I’ve got at least another 130 or so left in me.
Have you practiced yet today? For so long I didn't like to practice, even though I *know* you are supposed to. I just had this notion in my head that even in rehearsal space, I needed to be perfect. Maybe this is a carry over from a strict piano teacher I had in 6th grade. I'm not sure.
But then one day I just said, "F it" and played for me. And while I'd love to tell you that that was the moment the heavens opened up and the choirs sang and I fell in love with practicing music.... Well that didn't happen. BUT I still had a lot of fun that time playing! And it did teach me that playing and making mistakes is fine because that means you are learning. But let's be real, finding the time to practice on a daily basis with life and work is still challenging. I guess that's why they call it "PRACTICE" because we never quite get it right?? Double tap if you already practiced and had fun with music today! .
