Today has been one of those days I could hide in the garage 🙈 grizzly toddler, teething toddler and just tag teaming each other. This picture was caught amongst the chaos as I sat myself on our time out step. .
But it’s days like these and real life moments that’s so easy to just not look after yourself amongst it. These are the days I remind myself I need to get my workout in even more. For me it keeps me sane and allows me to mummy as I refill my cup. .
Yes I had to press pause a lot to go between them but I welcomed the breaks too. .
I’ve learnt the last year they are my reason NOT my excuse (which I used for so long as constantly felt tired) 😊
I hit ‘Mummy Burnout’ today.
Basically it’s feeling tired and overwhelmed, continually putting off doing things just for you because you’re focused on keeping your little ones happy.
What it actually is; chronic stress and fatigue.
Can we talk about examples that we are setting for a moment?
We’re supposed to be strong and perfect, we’re told that ‘you chose to be a mum and this is part of it’ if you get 10 minutes to yourself you get in your own head and get the washing done or wipe down the kitchen because you feel like that’s what you’re supposed to be doing, instead of just breathing for a moment.
As a single parent it’s just us, there’s no one to share him with (which I love don’t get my point twisted) but also this means it’s just us, always.
I’m physically tired, I’m sleep deprived and I haven’t had enough social contact for the last 6 months.
Now I will say parenting is amazing, it is the most rewarding thing ever but stop acting like it isn’t hard at times, stop giving the impression that self care is selfish as a parent and please for the love of all that is holy stop making parents feel bad for not being tip top 100% of the time.
Today I’m working from my sofa in my dressing gown and contacting people I haven’t seen in a while to see if I can claw a little bit of a social life back.
You’re allowed to feel like this, you’re allowed to admit you’re tired. The kids are gonna be alright x
It’s my birthday, I’ll have a pamper if I want to 🙌🏼 __________

Is there anything cuter then baby toes and chubby thighs ✨
Why are these newborn days flying by oh so quickly, I don’t remember it going this quickly with Lielah 😭 11 weeks old already and my heart is beyond full 💙
Wednesday’s it’s just me and this little peanut at home while Austin goes to kinder. So today I had all of the plans to do something fun together after his nap (probably Prahran pool and a little picnic poolside on the grass), and then of course he pulled a 3 hour nap out of nowhere 🤷🏼♀️ (but let’s be real, what a pleasant surprise... apart from the last half hour when I was starting to wonder if he was still alive in there 😱). Honestly the best way to get your kid to have a long sleep is to plan an activity dependant on his awake time and BOOM they will just sleep foreverrrrr 🤣🤣
