I challenge you to master something. Pick anything you want, it works best if you enjoy it but once you pick it, learn everything you can about it. Apply yourself to becoming a student of whatever craft you’ve chosen and work towards mastery. 1% every day is more than sitting still and doing nothing. My journey has changed so much from where I thought I was heading and the journey is just as important as the destination so don’t forget to enjoy the ride!! Keep flexing y’all. This was one of my very first IG posts over 3 years ago. You just have to keep working towards your goal and remember no one is perfect. Social media is the tip of the iceberg. Never forget that! 💪 My Pull Up Program (link in bio)

Right whale dolphins are cetaceans belonging to the genus Lissodelphis. It contains the northern right whale dolphin and the southern right whale dolphin. These cetaceans are predominantly black, white beneath, and some of the few without a dorsal fin or ridge. They are smaller members of the delphinid family, oceanic dolphins, and very slender. Both species are highly gregarious. They move in pods of several hundred individuals and sometimes congregate in groups of 3000. The groups may also contain dusky dolphins and pilot whales (in the south) and Pacific white-sided dolphins (in the north). Right Whale Dolphins

We've met this fascinating marine snail, a cowrie known as Naria turdus, in an earlier post. And it has a few more neat tricks up its mantle.
On this cowrie's partially extended mantle, you'll notice tiny branching projections called “papillae”- it’s said they may resemble tufts of algae or coral colonies, helping the Cowrie stealthily camouflage with its surroundings.
The mantle is most importantly the architect of the cowrie’s spectacularly glossy shell. As the mantle encloses the Cowrie shell, it lays down fresh coats of shell and glaze (in the form of calcium carbonate crystals), as well as the pigments that give the cowrie its intricate patterns.
Bonus mantle feature: The small tube at the left end of the cowrie is its "siphon". This rolled-up part of the mantle is used as snorkel to breathe and sample the water while looking for food and mates.

Day 13 of #SantasSeagrassSchool
The seagrass syllabus was produced by the World Seagrass Association for Conservation International & @SeagrassWatch & provides key info to increase understanding of #seagrass#ecosystems & the important services they provide. It is designed for anyone who would like to integrate the #knowledge learned into the development of management plans from #local to #regional scales 🌎
(Foto: Bundeswehr / Marie Buntrock) #milstagram
