  • Doolin itself is a small village near the spectacular Cliffs of Moher. It has several pubs which are known for their Traditional Irish Music. . . One of the things I first noticed on the hills around Doolin when we got there were the number of houses. At first glance they could be the same little cottages that exist all over Ireland. But with a closer inspection it became obvious that they were all new. Built as B&Bs and guest houses to cater for the large number of tourists that descend on Doolin. . . When you see Doolin is easy to understand why this picturesque village is so popular with tourists. . . If you are interested in more of my thoughts on Doolin take a look at my post from September 20. . . This photo was taken early on the morning of 20/09/2018

  • 📍Cobh , Ireland 🇮🇪 💡Interesting facts : 🔸Cobh , known from 1849 until 1920 as Queenstown, is a tourist seaport town on the south coast of County Cork, Ireland. 🔸In 1838, the Sirius, the first steamship to cross the Atlantic, sailed from Cobh, and in 1912, the Titanic made its last stop here on its fateful journey. 📷: @endastoryeire Follow @citybestviews for the best urban photo👆

  • 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 TRAVEL TIP ONE- DREAMING ☘️ . . This year I was lucky enough to get to spend seven weeks away exploring Ireland, Scotland, and Italy. . . One thing I’ve been told several times since getting back is “I’d love to go on a holiday like that. But I wouldn’t know where to start.” . . For those of you who are interested I’m going share some things that I’ve learned when it comes to planning a holiday like the one we did this year. . . The first tip is simply “Dreaming”. . . One of the tools I used to help me dream about my next holiday was maps. I mounted two large maps on cork board and put them just outside our kitchen. One map of Ireland and another of the UK. It’s important that the maps are somewhere you can see them everyday. Mel bought coloured pins and post it notes. Whenever either she or I saw somewhere in a book, on TV, or just someplace of interest we marked it with a pin and coloured post it note. . . Every time I walked past those maps I couldn’t help but think about our next trip. . . Those pins and post it notes then became the basis of my trip planning. . . One of the first pins that went into the map of Ireland was the Cliffs of Moher. This spectacular stretch of Irish Coastline did not disappoint. We got there on the afternoon following Storm Ali. The wind was still howling. Lucky it was pushing us away from the edge. . . This photo was taken on 19/09/2018

  • Just when I thought that I’d had a defining moment in my life by becoming a regular at the local bakery with my order of sun dried tomato and sausage quiche with coffee, I discover not 10 minutes later that there is a ball point pen that can literally double as a flame thrower that launches a 10ft flame (just in case I need the convenience of having such power in the pocket of my favorite flannel) and it could be mine for the bargain price of $80. Becoming a upstanding man of routine and sound decision making is going to have to wait until the day that fireballs stop being cool. Here’s a picture of a tree.

  • Soaked up all the cozy pubs and fireplaces and Irish coffees a girl could ask for last week in Ireland! This place is overflowing with history, charm and quite possibly the nicest people I’ve ever met. Could not be more excited to introduce our closest group of friends and family to Ireland in March! In the meantime, I’ll be here posting all the Christmasy photos 🥰
