@parishbrewingco DDH GHOST IN THE MACHINE 👻 This is One of the best beers I have to date. 🙌 Huge tropical fruit on the nose with pineapple, mango and passion fruit dominating the flavour 🌺 Perfect balance of textures, flavours & mouthfeel. 👄 Mild to low dank bitterness .🌿. This ticked all the boxes for me ✅ Belive the hype, Spectacular!!! POPE RATING 10.0
Like last year, It was hard think through the year and come up with my top beers of 2018. I had to pair down dozens to just 9 and it was hard 😅 I don’t think I could rank them in a particular order because they were all amazing in their own ways. I know they are all Hazy/NE/DDH beers but that has been what I have been into and Chicagoland does them so well 🤷🏼♂️ These all should have full reviews on my feed somewhere but just a couple notes on each, in no particular order:
_____________________ 🍻Haida Milkshake - Peach from @energycitybrewing The tartness from the the peach, the hops and the sweetness balanced so well.
🍻 Blazed Orange from @hopbutcher A hoppy creamsicle, need I say more?
🍻 Tavern Cut by @hopbutcher. So insanely smooth and the Citra/Vic Secret combo is amazing and inspired my own attempt at a similar combo in a home brew.
🍻Bad Boy Wally from @wrenhousebrewing Juicy, smooth and balance triple IPA that will fuck you up. Proud to be from AZ because of these guys.
_____________________ 🍻Between the Waves by @sainterrantbrewing. The apricot made for a nice balance of tartness and hops. Not too sweet for a milkshake. So good.
🍻Drink Me a lot of Peaches from @corridorchicago. The aroma of this beer was life changing. The thick mouthfeel and peach from this one was unbelievable.
🍻Meridian hopped Snoochie Boochies from @forbiddenroot If Snoochie Boochies wasn’t already good enough, the meridian hopped version was even smoother.
🍻Spoonful of Sugar by @illuminatedbrewworks. Such a perfect milkshake IPA. Perfectly sweet and smooth hoppy goodness.
🍻Crushed Velvet by @marzbrewing This January release was insane. Juicy, smooth and basically perfect. Marz did so much good shit this year.
🍻Trub Wizard collab from @18thstreetbrewery and @mikkellersd. I think was was technically released in 2017 but I had it in 2018. Great balance of smooth hoppy goodness from these two powerhouse breweries.
I think a lot of us have already chosen Fruit Car from Verdant as our Beer Of The Year 2018, but as soon as I saw @brewbynumbers had made their own All-Citra DIPA I wanted to see how it compared.
It's a close call, both are superb, this one might just be a little sweeter, but the real winner is the hop itself.
Whilst others strive for the next combo of lupulins from the far reaches of the earth, it's Citra that still reigns supreme.
@verdantbrew DIPA 8%
Dank and delicious. Way too easy drinking for 8%. Great stuff!

This is “weird and Gilly” by @singlecutbeer. It is an ipa with an abv of 6.6%. Couldn’t find a canned on date but it’s ibus are 98. This beer was my introduction to singlecut a few years ago and it absolutely blew me away. It was also one of the first ipas that I liked when most ipas were too much for my palette.
Nose: Big fruit roll up smell, also smells like Citra hops straight out of the package. Orange and tangerine as well.
Taste: Has a fruit roll up taste, not in a bad or artificial way. Slightly bitter. Bready malt comes through in the back end. Hints of mango and pineapple as well. No alcohol in the taste whatsoever. The mouthfeel is light-medium bodied and is quite refreshing and moderately carbonated. Overall, I think this is a great beer. It’s refreshing and a smooth easy drinking ipa. It does taste different to me than it did a few years ago, but my palette is also a lot more advanced than it was a few years ago. While it doesn’t knock me off my feet now it’s still a fantastic beer. I give it a 4.25/5 #singlecutbeersmiths#singlecutnorth#weirdandgilly#ipa#beer#beerreviews#tasty#hops#hoppy#delicious#fantastic#beergeek#beernerd
Home brewing help needed. I bought a used Tap-A-Draft setup and the valves leak out of the tap end. Every one of them. Well this was just a Complete pain. I could have bought an entire keg setup w CO2 for what I paid for this. Does it need pressure to seal? Only thing I can think of. Otherwise I’m just capping what I have so far. And good lord this cleared up big time in the secondary!!!! 😳🤯 #dipa#wehomebrew#homebrewing#homebrew#beersmith#fermentation#ipa#hops#instagood#beersragram

Tomorrow we are tapping our Resilience IPA at all our locations! It was brewed in support of @sierranevada’s Camp Fire Relief Fund. All proceeds will be donated to the fund. This IPA is beautifully classic, with floral & fruity notes from the hops that complement the malt backbone. Hop bitterness is present but lingering back to not overwhelm the beer. Overall balanced take on a classic IPA. #resilienceipa#ipa#buttecountystrong#sierranevada#firestonewalker#craftbeer
🌊🍻🌴 Cloud Crusher Is back on tap! Pineapple and tropical fruit precipitates from this insanely crushable hazy DIPA. Copious amounts of Cascade, Mosaic, Ekuanot and El Dorado hops work together to deliver a torrential downfall of aroma and flavor.🌴🍻🌊
We would love to thank everyone who voted for us! It is a incredible honour to have been elected ‘Best Irish Pub’ at the 2018’ @expatriates_magazine awards! It was a public vote and everyone’s support means a lot! To many more years of Craic, Music, Friendship, Craft Beer & Sports! 🍀⚽️🏉🎶 Céad Míle Fáilte! (A Hundred Thousand Welcomes!) & Nollaig shona dhaoibh! (Happy Christmas!) 🎄🎁 /// ‘Best Irish Pub Corcoran’s Saint-Michel was founded in 1997 by three brothers: Julien, Liam and Michael Porisse. Before Corcoran’s, they ran a very succesful souvenir shop business in Paris. Yet they always shared a dream of one day opening an Irish Pub. A cosy place where friends could hang out, watch sports and have a good laugh - a home away from home. With this spirit in mind, they created the first of eight Irish Pubs.
Corcoran’s Saint-Michel has now won Best of Paris 3 years in a row, once again firmly retaining their title this year. For the most authentic Irish pub experience at Corcoran’s Saint-Michel, visit during the weekly live music events, pub quiz night or when a big football or rugby match is on. For late night DJ parties on Friday/Saturday, there is a speak-easy bar downstairs. If you’re a fan of the rugby team CA Brive Corrèze Limousin, you’re in luck, the local fan club watches all matches here.’ #CorcoransSaintMichel#ExpatriatesMagazine
