Traveling is always so exciting but it’s great to be home! We recently had a new 4-legged member join our little family, and thus spending a lot more time at home and being PRESENT. It has made me feel how much comfort and happiness I get from the people and faces I surround myself with, the memories and photos of family and friends, and the sweet moments of laughter within these walls. #homesweethome 🏠💖
Here’s the thing about our renovations... they must be 100% functional. You need to #makehomematter! My husband reminds me of this allll the time 🙄😂 The “prettiness” always somehow fits in, but it’s definitely secondary. This bathroom was NOT functional for us before the reno, and honestly there are still a LOT of spaces here that aren’t functional yet - 🙋🏻♀️ if you want to see them in my stories! What room isn’t working for you?! Show us how you #makehomematter by posting a photo today through Friday and following along with all our hosts...
And this week's guest host:
Flowers where the first thing I ever painted. They’ve always inspired me and for a long time I seen them as a challenge. I cringe every time I look at my past floral paintings. After a lot of trial and error and experimenting with watercolor, I finally feel comfortable painting flowers, and my palette knife makes it a million times better! I really feel like i’ve made a major breakthrough in my creative journey and I can’t wait to dive deeper into it! What challenges do you face when creating?
I never thought i would take a pic of the linen closet but guys... it has NEVER been this clean and organized! I had to capture the moment! The card catalog table thingy is still going strong!! I painted it white last year and showed y’all on stories. It’s still one of my favorite pieces! How’s your linen closet?? •

In my stories- sources for my bedroom ends tomorrow! All are saved in the “Shop my room” saved button on my profile (Navy buttons!) 🔵🔵 Today was one of those days where at the end of the day I’m left staring at the piles of dishes, scattered laundry and unfinished projects and I have to tell myself “hands-on day, hands-on day”. Today I was more of a hands-on mom than a good “housekeeper”. It’s OK that my house looks like it’s from an episode of hoarders. That’s fine! It’s good to have days where I play more than work. Isn’t it STUPID that I have to tell myself that?! I think most moms, especially stay at home moms, have to tell themselves that it’s OK to let some stuff go some days... because it’s super freaking easy to be hard on ourselves when we stay home but feel (and look) like we accomplished nothing. Especially when our husbands walk in to a kitchen that looks like a set from Jumanji. (I know working moms feel this too but since I don’t work outside the home I only speak to what I know 😉) Homeschool, brunch, quiet time, bikes outside, dinner, games, bedtime. That was today. No where in that sentence does it say “dish” or “laundry” 😬 It just didn’t happen today 🤷🏼♀️ and that’s just fine. Didn’t know tonight’s post was going to be me pepping talking myself, did ya? 😂 What was your level of productivity today? You can tell by looking at my kitchen in my stories that I didn’t step foot in my kitchen except to stack a dish by the sink but I slayed at UNO, y’all. SLAYED. 😂❤️

The pattern begins the moment the warp threads are strung onto the upright frame loom.
A little snippet of a project in the works for an East Bay client. Mixing modern with traditional, and neutrals with a punch of Prussian blue. Eager to see this one installed in a few months! (inspo photo from @discinteriors) #laurennelsondesign#designconcept

When you try to make a wanderlist for a year, and then remember about the cup of coffee and croissants you had in Italy, and you are stuck 😆
Hey there! We’ve never formally introduced ourselves so we thought we’d pop in and say hi! We’re Sarah and Janene and we have been friends and real estate partners for many years. We are so excited to be putting the finishing touches on our new website for our renovation management company Stage One Renovations, based in beautiful Calgary, Alberta. As real estate agents, we love helping people find new homes, and now with Stage One, we’re able to help people continue to love where they already live! Thank you so much for following along!

Almost a year ago we were about to kickoff the construction on the #secraftsman and I shared a pic of some of the finishes and fixtures planned. (swipe ➡️ for a refresh) Now here they are in “real life” in the new kid’s bath. Will never get over how fun that is.

Is throwback Thursday still a thing? This will forever be my favorite room in our old home: the nursery. ⠀
Once upon a time I was thumbing through a Restoration Hardware catalog and saw this gorgeous music note feature wall. I clipped it and saved it for nearly a year, maybe more. ⠀
When we moved into this house and I got pregnant with our third, I revisited that catalog clipping. I played with all kinds of ideas to see if I could recreate the look for less. In the catalog each metal frame cost roughly $250. But, buying 18 frames wasn’t in the budget. ⠀
I created this wall by spray painting cheap plastic frames with a metallic paint. I used Dollar Tree poster board in each frame to look like a mat. I used double stick tape to hold music sheets from an old music book I found at goodwill. Voila! We did it. It cost me $250 total for all 18. (And it cost Scott a lot of time measuring, not gonna lie...haha)⠀
I love this throwback because it reminds me of who I am...tenacious, creative and willing to try a silly idea to save a buck. ⠀
Now truth be told, I may have shed a tear when I saw ran across this picture this morning. I sure do miss my babies being babies somedays. I had a lot of sleepless nights nursing little ones in that chair. And this neutral palette served both my daughter and son. ⠀
Have you heard people say, “The days are long but the years are short”? Boy oh boy, that’s feeling true right about now. #tbt
Hey friends 👋 I hope you’ve had a wonderful day! Today was #tflthriftingthursday and I found some awesome goodies 🙌 The basket in the corner with my fiddle leaf plant was $8! It even came with a lid that I’m going to add to my basket wall! Play along with me every Thursday by Using this # and I’ll share your pic in my stories!! I’m so excited to see what you’ve found! .
Alright..time to relax and turn on the office! Night everyone 💤
Emerson. The goal for this home was to keep the palette light and tonal with minimal contrast...a serene retreat. Nothing in this home was meant to take center stage, but rather play an equal role in portraying the larger picture. This home was a joy to dream up and create. #theemersonhouse
Our kind of winter blues ☝ We love the cool-toned desert vibe these cactus tiles are giving off. A great mix of colour and texture, they're perfect for adding an unexpected pop of design to a kitchen or bathroom.
Hip hip hooray for Thursday! It’s been a long but productive week. Illness went through the house the last few days but thankfully we are all on the mend and ready for the weekend! I am working on some things for the shoppe and I would love your assistance! Head over to stories as I have a #homedecor ask of you! #LoveYourAbode
Happy Thursday guys! We added a bit more gray to the top and this 66” x 28” custom is complete! Gotta say I absolutely love creating one of a kind pieces for others and feel so lucky that someone will love it in their home as much as I do!
It was 75 today and sunny so I walked to the front yard and cut a fresh branch so it feels like spring 🌿
Tonight over on @theivy.co I’m sharing ALL the deets about @lasvegasmarket from what to prep today (hint: promo code for those extra business cards you forgot to order), what vendors you are not to be missed and the best parties + panels of the week.
And when you’re completely exhausted and totally over the Vegas scene, I’ve even rounded up where to stay, what to eat, and what to see that isn’t drinking, gambling or strip clubs.
Can’t wait to see you guys at #LVMkt + chat in person like real life friends!

A perfectly styled room is one of our favorite features on install day! Don’t get me wrong, the furniture totally speaks for itself. But there are a few key pieces we love to include when picking out the finishing touches for a space. Height, texture and color are all key elements we like to include to bring the space together! #WrightsvilleBeachCondo| Design by: @maryhannahinteriors | PC: @mattrayphotography
