Pangong. Sorry, Paradise...!
Yet another post from this beautiful destination, Pangong tso. The one place that we can never get over! For all those hurdles to get there during a storm, it is worth a thousand times more. Being at peace inside a cozy tent that we set up, watching those blue waters caress the banks as the wind gushes through our ruffled hair, cooking at leisure and probably reading a romance, what more one ask! Be there, experience it if you haven't already!
#bulletbaba a temple you find while driving on nh62, a young man driving Bullet motorcycle died in road accident 30 yrs ago. His bike was kept in police station but kept on disappearing & reappearing at accident site. Finally his father made a temple for bike at the accident site. Temple is revered by locals & legends say it protects people from road accidents.
A ceremony was going on when I drove by.
Buddhism in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh can be traced back to the spread of Buddhism in the early 8th century. Over the centuries the practice of Buddhism has become deeper rooted in the region, particularly in the Lahaul, Spiti and Kinnaur valleys of Himachal Pradesh. .
The influence of Buddhism is strong throughout the Trans-Himalayan region or Western Himalayas, formed by the Indian states of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh and bounded by the Indus River on the extreme west and the Tons-Yamuna River gorge on the east.
In Himachal Pradesh, apart from these ancient Buddhist monasteries set up by Zangpo, his contemporaries of other Buddhist sects built many more monasteries. This activity thus further continued in the subsequent centuries under the four main traditions of Nyingma, Kagyu, Gelug, and Sakya, categorised as per teachings into three "vehicles":Hinayana, Mahayana, and Vajrayana. .
These monasteries are mostly in the Spiti, Lahaul and Kinnaur valleys.

Telescopium telescopium, or "Horn snail," is a species of marine molluscs. It is commonly seen in mangroves and madflat areas.
The word 'Telescopium' is derived from two Greek words, 'tele', meaning 'far' ,
and 'skopeein' , meaning 'to see',amd later on became 'telescopic' the snail is termed so probably due to its shape resembling early days telesocps.

Remember my riddle from this morning? The sign does not lead to a ladies only night club or beauty parlour. It separates the train platforms in parts for men and women in India. So the girls have their own wagon on the trains. VERY smart. And I was very happy to be able to ride on the bright side of the train.
