Made this square to round adapter today at work from 6mm plate steel. A lot of people who look through our bus ask what I do for work, and often look surprised when I say farming and then ask how I got the confidence to undertake some of the bigger engineering jobs on the bus even when it needed to be checked off and certified by a heavy vehicle engineer. It's true I do work in farming, but the farmers I work for have their own workshop, repairing their own machinery and building a lot of their own equipment from scratch, I started working there at 14 years old and self taught how to make and fix everything so now I'm their engineer. I guess what I'm getting at is give it a go, if it looks like a big job then start in a small corner, you might surprise yourself how much you can learn and do. It might not always look pretty but it'll usually work 😋
Taking a moment to reflect on how lucky we are to be embarking on this adventure. It hasn’t exactly been easy getting here, and not every day goes as planned, but we learn a little more with every passing moment. I’m beginning to appreciate the lack of destination, and slowly learning to focus on the journey instead. Van life is proving to be a feat of adaptation, resilience and squeezing into small spaces. It may not be as simple as we expected, but the sense of freedom is unparalleled. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity, and I could not have asked for a better copilot! 🚐
I don’t belong in this fast paced life all around, nor would I want too. I’m just trying like hell to slow down, be present, and lose track of time it self. Keep track of life not by the passage of time but stories, memories, and experience with friends and loved ones. #35mm
Every Thursday morning “The Gang at Blue Ribbon Flies” send out their newsletter. The intro stories that Craig Matthews and Cam Coffin tell are like poetry. The reader hangs on every word, as the author paints a picture as clear as the Montana rivers they fish. Fly fishermen and women from all around the country wait in anticipation for this to show up in their inbox. I know I do. And I know my father does.
We’ve been there so many times on our way into YNP. Last time we were there with the van, they all came out to checkout our brown trout @aluminess box.
Thanks @blueribbonflies for being one of the best in your space and giving us decades of joy. #FishOn

We spent a perfect day in Pensacola. What a cool coastal city, rich in history, unique shops and gourmet food trucks!
It’s also chock full of museums- and one ticket grants admission to all- we love being able to knock out the kids’ history lessons this way. 🙌
The kids had a blast and it was a fun stop on our way to Alabama-which, by the way, was a jaw dropping drive along the gulf coast. We are really looking forward to exploring tomorrow.
If anyone has any tips or suggestions for coastal Alabama (we are staying south) we’d love to hear them!
Tonkatsu Ramen with Pecan Smoked Prime Rib was for dinner earlier... the slightly pink tone in the broth is from the juicy medium rareness of the Prime Rib! I’ve eaten Prime Rib at Steakhouses, Banquets and Special Occasion Buffets, but... and I’m not being egotistical about this cause I smoked the meat or whipped up Tonkatsu Ramen .... but Damn! (Best MIB Will Smith impersonation) it was tasty!!!

Lately, our PNW sunsets have been enough to make me wonder why I want to travel anywhere else. Then I remember all the fun we will have and all the good we will do, and I'm filled with that sense of excitement again.
Also, tonight its 40* degrees, windy, and pouring rain out...so that helps add to the excitement of heading somewhere warmer. BRR.

We call these "hard animals". 🐎🐐🐘🦏🦔🐼🐖🐑🦓🦌🦊
I am not sure if there is an actual name for this type of animal toy but if there is, we probably won't change what we call them anyway. 😂
We just got them out for the first time since we have been on the road, and the girls have been playing with them every chance they get.

Another one via the trails of Kings Canyon, the most never-disappointing place if 2018.
