  • Lemony Chicken + Broccoli Skillet Meal 🌞🙋‍♀️🍋 ~ 👉🏽FOLLOW @losingweightmealideas For more healthy meals👈🏽 - { THIS skillet is my new FAVE for so many reasons:  #1 - FLAVOR  #2 - Simplicity  #3 - Capers & Fresh Lemon  #4 - Cleanups no problem! ~ 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts large head broccoli, broken into florets 1 Tbsp avocado, or olive oil sea salt and fresh ground black pepper, to your taste 1 tsp chili flakes 2 Tbsps capers 1 cup chicken broth 1/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced or pressed fresh lemon slices to garnish (optional) Instructions: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken with sea salt, pepper and chili flakes and rub it on both sides. Cook chicken on the skillet for about 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown. Remove and set aside. Add in the chicken broth, lemon juice, capers, and garlic to the skillet. Stir and scrape up the brown bits from the bottom of the pan. Add in broccoli, then nestle in the chicken back to the skillet. Simmer for about 10 minutes, until broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp and chicken is cooked through. See below for instructions 🥕⁣ ⁣ Ingredients:⁣ 2lbs carrots, peeled and sliced⁣ 2 Tbsp olive, grape or avocado oil⁣ 2 Tbsp brown sugar⁣ 1 tsp sea salt⁣ 1 tsp cinnamon⁣ ⁣ Directions:⁣ 1. Preheat oven to 400 degree⁣ 2. Place carrots in steamer until tender with fork (10-12 minutes) ⁣ 3. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, salt and cinnamon. Add oil and turn into a paste⁣ 4.   • Creamy chicken, garlic and cheese make a delicious combo of flavors and with the addition of broccoli and spinach, you’ve got yourself a complete nutrition-packed meal that will fill you up for hours! 🥦 Via @gimmedelicious Ingredients 1 pound chicken breasts cut into 1'' pieces 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning 1/4 teaspoon crushed pepper optional salt and pepper to taste 3-4 cloves garlic minced 1/2 cup tomatoes chopped 2 cups broccoli florets 2 cups baby spinach 1/2 cup shredded cheese mozzarella, cheddar, parmesan, or favorite melting cheese 4 oz cream cheese Instructions Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the chopped chicken breasts, season with Italian seasoning, crushed red pepper, and salt & pepper. Sautee for 4-5 minutes or until chicken is golden and cooked through. Add the garlic and saute for another minute or until fragrant. Add the tomato, broccoli, spinach, shredded cheese, and cream cheese.   • Golden Milk Smoothie. 🍹 . I've been making this golden turmeric smoothie in the afternoons (for when my coffee wears off 🙃) as an energizing pick-me-up. I've been using the Feel Good Turmeric powder at Costco and I'm pretty sure my joint pains (joys of autoimmune 🙄) have been lessened as a result. This particular brand has a higher amount of curcumin and even has black pepper extract, which helps activate the curcumin absorption in your body (curcumin - anti-inflammatory ingredient found in turmeric 🤓). Turmeric is a strong flavor, but I think I found a perfect balance and it's soo refreshing so I thought I'd share! . Golden Milk Smoothie: . -1 large frozen banana (essential!) -1 to 2 cups almond milk -1/2 scoop Feel Good Turmeric powder (or another similar brand w concentrated curcumin) -1/2 scoop vegan vanilla protein powder (I use Vega Proteins&Greens) -1/2 tsp ground ginger -*optional 1 tsp extra virgin coconut oil for better absorption of curcumin (adding a little healthy fat helps!) .   • So firstly, has anyone been so angry they got hiccups? 😂😂😂 lol raise your hand immediately 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️ bc that’s what happened this morning 🤷🏻‍♀️ there have been a few things recently that have been piling up and this morning I must have been really feeling the weight of all of them 😰😰but it turns out, that all you need are the proper people to take your mind off it ☺️☺️ you’ll always find people that vibrate with you🥰 those are the people who will be with you forever ❤️ and you should never take them for granted ❤️ so I ranted a bit, was told off for caring so much 😂😂 then promptly started experimenting with a citrus 🍊 salad 🥗 and came up with this one! It might look really weird but I can tell you it’s actually pretty ok 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ possibly needs a bit more refining, but it’s certainly a start 🥳🥳 then I went and ticked something off which had been on my mind for the longest time: my second ear piercing!!!! 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️ and worked out any remaining frustration out on my core 💪🏻💪🏻 who’s ready to SLAY this week??? #dowhatmakesyourheartsing #foodblogger #healthyfood #healthyrecipes #citrussalad #salad #piercing #workout #coreday

I would recommend starting with either flat bench press or incline bench press with a barbell and doing that on itself for 3-4 sets 8-10 reps each set. Then I would go in to a superset of either incline/flat (whichever one you didn’t do with the barbell) dumbbell bench press 3 sets 8-10 with either dumbbell flys or cable flys 12-15 reps each set. Finish that off with a superset of dumbbell pullovers 3 sets of 10 with a shoulder lift of your choice. • The best way to add size quickly is to do high volume, maintain a solid diet, and focus on form rather than more weight. •Using too much weight will only result in injuries and improper form which will destroy your gains. #EatClean #EatLocal #FitFood #GlutenFree #HealthyEating #HealthyRecipes #Nutrition #fitness #lifting #fitnessmotivation #fitnesslife

  • Trying my hand at roasted chickpeas. I love these as a snack and they satisfy the salty crunch craving. I’ve been using this seasoning from @savoryspiceshop which is amazing! After experimenting a few time I’ve found the key(s) to a nice crunch and great taste: . -make sure your chickpeas are DRY . -if you have the time or inclination remove the skins. The skins tend to hold moisture. . -When they are done cooking turn off the oven and leave them in the oven for 1-2 hours. . -put your seasoning on after they are done cooking but are still hot. This prevents the spices from burning. . . Recipe: -1 can of chickpeas (garbanzo beans) drained, rinsed and dried. -1 tsp olive oil -seasoning of choice. . . Toss the chickpeas with olive oil and place on cookie sheet on parchment paper. Roast in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and mix in your seasoning.   • Spicy crock pot mexi chicky with Seeds of Change brown rice with garlic and mixed greens drizzled with habanero Yellowbird Sauce! Plus some avocado and cilantro, because why not. I love the crock pot, you come home and it’s like someone has cooked dinner for you! To make the spicy chicken put 4 chicken breasts, red onion, tri-color bell pepper, garlic, habanero, 1 can of corn, 1 can of rotel diced tomatoes, and your favorite salsa to the crock pot. While my favorite fresh salsa is Cita’s, I add Pace Picante to my crock pot chicken because I think it just holds up better. You can also add a bit of chicken stock too. Next add your seasonings: cumin, Chile powder, paprika..basically everything that comes in a taco or fajita seasoning packet! Let that chicken go for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low. Of course it’s #tacotuesday 🌮. I went easy on the light sour cream and salsa, and added lettuce and carrots. Sadly, the 3 soft tacos were accompanied with a 4th ... and half a Coors Light 😂. • Lots of water 💦 throughout the day • 2 Coffees this morning . .   • 2009-2019 Holy moly was I a hot mess 😂😂 In 10 years I’ve gotten the chance to know myself, through trial and error I’ve fallen in love with taking care of my body, I’ve had opportunities to travel the world, I made amazing friends, I lost a few loved ones, I fell in love, I became a dog mom to the most amazing pup, I received two degrees, I moved away from home to further my career in dietetics, and of course let’s not forget I grew a few teeth 😅 I am so thankful to be able to look back on ten years and appreciate how sweet time is. Chipotle. 😍♥️ This was so simple to prepare, and I made extras to have meal-prepped lunches and dinner this week! Who doesn’t love extra guac in their fridge?! 🥑 • My #bowl is cauliflower rice, mild salsa, corn salsa, guac, and a couple pieces of tofu! •Mild salsa: 3 chopped tomatoes, 1/4 cup red onion, 1/4 cup cilantro, lime juice, salt (to taste) • Corn salsa: 1 can of corn, 1/4 cup red onion, 1/4 cup cilantro, lime juice, salt (to taste) • Guac: 3 mashed avocados, coat in lime juice before mashing them up, 1/4 cup cilantro, 1/4 cup red onion, salt (to taste) - the Chipotle guac recipe is actually on their website! This is just a modified version of it...I think their secret is to coat the avocados in lime juice before you mash it into guacamole! 😎 #gamechanger • Tofu: extra firm, cut into slices, seasoned with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cooked on my cast iron skillet! #Travelandhealthyeats

My Simple Mixed Berries with ACV has the nutritious addition of apple cider vinegar, colliding in a spectacular balancing act of flavours. Delicious! Mixed Berries with Apple Cider Vinegar Serves Two Ingredients 440 g (151/2 oz/2 cups) fresh berries 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar 45 g (11/2 oz/1/3 cup) slivered almonds Serve with yoghurt or for dairy free make your own Cashew Nut Cream! Ingredients 155 g (51/2 oz/1 cup) raw cashew nuts 170 ml (2/3 cup) filtered water One tsp raw honey or sugar free use 8 drops stevia liquid 1 teaspoon vanilla essence To make the cashew nut cream, place all the ingredients in a food processor and whizz until smooth and creamy. Add a little water if the mixture isn’t smooth. Divide the berries between two small bowls. Pour 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar over each, top with slivered almonds and cashew nut cream, and serve. Note: You can also make the cashew nut cream the night before.  It can be stored in the fridge in a covered container for up to one week. You can substitute the same quantity of almonds, sunflower seeds, macadamias or hazelnuts for the cashews.🍓
