Good morning everyone 😊
It’s so early and it’s Monday and I’ve already cried once and I didn’t really sleep and tbh I don’t know how to survive this day.
Let’s hope your Monday is going better.
I’m going to put on my headphones now and listen to Radio Silence because I’m not awake enough to read myself.
Have a good day and maybe smile a little 💜

It’s Friday Jr. bookish peeps! 🎉
I got out earlier from school because of some sport event the entire school had to go to and I didn’t want to so I decided to drive back home and spend my day at home as always ☺️.
QOTD: do you prefer series or trilogies?
To me, it just depends if the books are worth the reading and if they tempt me to continue a long journey to god-knows-what. If I want to read with short time and enough to get to standalones, I go with trilogies. If I have all the time in the world and want to explore a place with great characters and awesome storylines, I choose series. Then it all depends what my mood is too, of course 😂. It just all sums up to how much the story needs to be told, you know what I mean?
I’m going to do some tags because I haven’t been doing them and I’m wayyyy behind so here it goes!

Happy almost weekend y’all!🤗 I thought I’d share some Grishaverse love today because I am so stoked for the series coming to Netflix! I can’t wait to see it all come to life...seriously one of my favorite series ever and I don’t know why it took me so long to start it!!🙈 So who is your dream cast for everyone? The Darkling? Kaz? Nikolai? Eek so many great characters!!😍🖤 I’d love to see some fresh faces!
QOTD: What is a series you never wanted to end?
A: Honestly I LOVED Alina and Mal’s story! I thought it was so sweet and so addicting!💕 Also, Bardugo writes an amazing cast of characters in all her books that you can’t help but fall for all of them!😍
#janbookstagram19 - Favorite ending
#janinbooks19 - Character with magical powers
#bookqueensjan19 - Beautifully written books
#ladiesoffictionjan19#allthebooksjan19 - Book to screen
Bardugo is the reason why I love problematic dark broody men😂
Gosh I can't stop thinking about this series. All I want is a Darkling and Nikolai to love me and have magic powers. Is that too much to ask?😂
I Have two weeks off from uni now and I'm hoping to get a shit tonne of reading done before I go back to the stress. I've finally got a TBR pile which involves 6 comics, The Binding, Caged Queen, Skyward and Square Eyes. And like 5 paperbacks🙈 probably not going to read all those books but we shall see.

What are some of your favorite fandoms to collect merch for? 🌘 I love the Grishaverse, and honestly, I actually prefer the original Shadow & Bone trilogy to the Six of Crows duology -- but I feel like SoC tends to get more merch. So I was definitely pumped when @dreamyandco chose the trilogy as the theme for their December box.
The box included a woodmark, sturdy bookmark, magnetic bookmark, double-sided sturdy print, notebook, coaster, pin, and wax melt. There are a couple of these boxes left in the shop, so of you want one, snag one quick. Rep codes don't work on boxes, but NOVEL10 saves you on anything else in the shop. .
Qotd: Have you read the Grisha trilogy?
It just makes me so happy to see more n more people pick up Grisha Trilogy. King of Scars is coming out soon and to understand that you have to read Grisha trilogy. If you haven't read please do not for the main characters but the side characters and to understand GrishaVerse better.
🎞Fine, make me your villain.🎞
• Don’t you just get chills thinking of hearing that line spoken aloud by the (perfectly casted🤞🏼🤞🏼) Darkling?? I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again, I’m not a Darkling fan when it comes to him being considered a bookboyfriend. But a gloriously cunning antagonist? Heck yes. I know everyone’s already been gushing but I’m gonna gush a little more about my excitement over Leigh’s announcement that this is coming to Netflix. And you know something?? I’ve made it my goal to work on it. Acting, hopefully. And with the way this industry works, I think I’ve got time to make it happen. Until then, I’m going to be inhaling all this perfection of a candle from @wickywickycandleco. Who knows how long we’ve gotta wait until this series, so snag one for your self and save some💰 with ESCAPE20!🖤
• Today was only mildly productive, it’s all rainy and cozy feeling here so my productivity level has plummeted. But I’ve just made myself a perfect grilled cheese so it’s a good day!🧀
• What are you most excited to see brought to life in the Netflix series? What are you most afraid of?🎥
• #bookqueensjan19 Ancient Societies: Who really knows how long the Darkling has been around??
#somethingslayedjan19 Ominous Quotes
The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. I only read this trilogy because I wanted to read Six of Crows, which is also set in the #grishaverse and I was told I'd get more out of it if I had read the trilogy first. I am on Six of Crows now (post to come soon) and I am glad I read this trilogy first. It's not absolutely necessary but definitely enhances the experience. A Grisha is someone with special abilities to master either materials, elements or biology. This trilogy follows one particular Grisha named Alina on her quest to secure these 3 "amplifiers" that will give her enough power to take on our antagonist, The Darkling, and prevent awful things from happening to her world. A solid 3 stars for the trilogy overall and I really enjoyed this Russian-inspired world. Going through Six of Crows, I am curious if they will circle back on characters from this trilogy in later books, because now I am curious what happened to them. @squarefish.creatives@lbardugo@fiercereads#shadowandbone#seigeandstorm#ruinandrising#grishaverse#alinastarkov#grishatrilogy#leighbardugo
Update: just heard Shadow and Bone will be on Netflix along with Six of Crows! So excited.
Today has been a long day so I’m going to snuggle up and finish Windwitch and count the minutes until Bloodwitch. Tell me about your current read! *
#bookreadhappyhour / invite characters to a readalong. This is sort of cheating but I’d love to sit at the bar (or Kaz’s club) with the Dregs and listen to them tell me these stories they grew up listening to. And then they would tell me how they remembered hearing them. Inej would tell us how her father would act out the stories by the campfire when she was a child. Kaz would say that he stole the collection of stories from another kid and then tossed it in the sea for being ridiculous. Wylan would say that he cherished the stories as a kid and had to hide the book from his dad, who considered it frivolous. Jesper would admit that he loved it when his dad would read them to him, but he would pretend like he didn’t. Matthias would only know the stories from his country and declare all others heresy, and Nina would goad him into telling his favorite story and then proceed to interrupt every detail.... apparently I fantasize about hanging out with them all a lot 😂
What characters would you want to read with? *
You guys! Grandma and I started reading Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone last night and we are here for it! I have followed @lbardugo on Instagram for a while and I liked her as a person so I wanted to support her craft... Granted most people would maybe support an author by buying one book to see if they like their style... I bought four 🤦🏼♀️ (She’s got a really cool personality, what can I say?!?) so I have had four of her books just chilling waiting around on me and last night I decided I would try a chapter out... well 10 chapters later I forced myself to go to sleep.... I can’t believe I put off these books for so long... I remember picking them up so many times because I thought the covers were pretty (yea I’m that girl) but I am so glad I actually opened them up further! Finally!! This book is a perfect escape!
Since it’s been announced that the Shadow & Bone Trilogy will be made into a series I’m going to give it another try.
“When you are in the middle of a story it isn't a story at all, but only a confusion; a dark roaring, a blindness, a wreckage of shattered glass and splintered wood; like a house in a whirlwind, or else a boat crushed by the icebergs or swept over the rapids, and all aboard powerless to stop it. It's only afterwards that it becomes anything like a story at all. When you are telling it, to yourself or to someone else.”
- Margaret Atwood, Alias Grace -
What book have you lost yourself in? That kind of read where you lift your head from the page and realise you’ve been reading for hours without realising it. -
For me one of them is definitely Shadow And Bone. I just started re-reading the trilogy in preparation for King Of Scars and i’m falling in love with it all over again. This series may have some flaws but the wonderful world of The Grisha and story are incredible! 🖤 -

Any books you wish you had read sooner, or even just at a different time than you did?
I mentioned this quite a few times before (I won't subtract any points from your house if you don't memorize everything I say, don't worry), but I read Six of Crows before I read the Grisha trilogy... I had no idea it even existed at that point 😂 I didn't even know who Leigh Bardugo was (which seems absurd to me now), and got SoC as an ebook on a total whim.
It wasn't until after I finished it that I realized she had this whole trilogy that I just skipped over 🙈 And looking back, I did wish I had read these books first. Not because I couldn't follow SoC without it (that wasn't a problem), but because after SoC these were a bit of a letdown. Don't get me wrong, I still liked them fine (though the first one more than the others), but I think I would've enjoyed them more if I hadn't gone into the trilogy comparing it to SoC, y'know?
In life news, remember when all the dinosaurs died? I think I might have caught the cold responsible for it, and I have a final exam tomorrow evening 😢 I bet my fellow students are going to love me for hacking and coughing through the whole thing and possibly me sneezing on their necks, don't you think? 😄 Pray for me.

If I were hosting a fictional in person read-a-long for next months #ardentlyaustenbookclub installment of Pride and Prejudice, I’ve got some characters I’d invite over to discuss the book and read with me.
The Darkling is going to come over and brood, he identifies strongly with Mr. Darcy. Koschei the Deathless will be there to talk about how he’s already read the book. Severo will be there too, because there’s free food. He didn’t read the book though. Mia Corvere is coming, she’s running a little late but we always have such lovely conversations.
Which fictional character(s) would you invite to your read-a-long and what book are you reading?
I’m about to use deliciously scented Darkling shower bomb from @fictionbathco. Shower bombs are amazing! Not everyone is into baths or even has a tub, sometimes you just want a lovely luxurious shower before work on a random Tuesday (any day works!). To use one you place it in a corner of your shower, one where it isn’t in the direct stream of water, and enjoy the scent. Sometimes you can get two uses from one shower bomb depending on your shower. I take long showers so for me it’s usually one use.

"Maybe love was superstition, a prayer we said to keep the truth of loneliness at bay." – Ruin and Rising, Leigh Bardugo
Good evening book nerds!
Alright. Unpopular opinion time! (Since my parabatai @salinereads and I were already talking about this the other day 😂)
My unpopular opinion: I'm not a fan of The Darkling. 😂😂😂😂 Sorry guys, I know a lot of fans out there love him. 😭😂 And don't get me wrong, I don't hate him. I'm just not fond of him like most of the fans are. I like him as an important part of the plot/story, and I recognize his significance in the books. However, I'm just not fawning over him like others. (I also don't ship him with Alina 😥😂)
How about you nerds? Any unpopular opinion you wanna voice out? 🤔🤔

New books. Especially now it’s becoming a tv series. I’ve read them before but i don’t remember much. #grishatrilogy
Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo.
"In the end, maybe love just meant longing for something impossibly bright and forever out of reach."
Yuhuuu, finally done with this trilogy 🙌 if not for Darkling or Nikolai, I might give up on book 2 😂😂😂 I don't care about Alina, Mal, or their love story. It just ... blah for me (sorry for their fans)
BUT I LOVE NIKOLAI LANTSOV SO MUCH!!! And Darkling, he deserved so much better than what Ms. Bardugo wrote for him 😭 I want to be his queen. We could be bad together, Darkling! 😂😂😂
Anyway, I'm sooo loking forward to read King of Scars ❤❤❤
I'm doing buddy read with @dailylifeofmer and @anywdk.books 😄
I know everyone is still freaking out about the latest Grishaverse news, so this post feels appropriate. I only need to read Ruin And Rising and The Language Of Thorns to be caught up on the wonderful world Leigh Bardugo has created. And, obviously, King of Scars. 📚 As you think about the upcoming series, what scene or character are you most excited for? I'm excited to see who they cast as the Darkling and Kaz. 😏
