The iconic view of Utah's Zion Canyon viewed from Angels Landing. The dangerous trail leading up to the overlook was cut into solid rock and opened in 1926. Most people turn around before the path gets narrow, but the reward for reaching the pinnacle is unmatched #ericinparks

Oh miss @kayceeayee - I really don’t even know where to begin when talking about our sisterhood. .
The day I met Kaycee she ran up to me as if we had already known each other, hugged me and gave me heartfelt compliments. Her sweet and warming demeanor is so refreshing. Soon after meeting, we became roommates - At first I thought the 15 years (age gap) between us was going to be a hurdle.. but instead of being the older “more mature” person in the household, I realized I was learning some of the most important lessons in my life from Kaycee. .
Many people would describe Kaycee as an old soul. Living with her gave me a free-spirit, taught me about softness, being gentle and helped me to see that being nice doesn’t mean I am being weak. .
Over the course of a year, Kaycee grew in huge leaps and bounds. Learning the ins and outs of climbing, assisting me in my meetups, being a second mother to my son. Watching her grow opened my eyes to the importance of making the most of each moment we have here on this beautiful planet. .
I love you so freakin much @kayceeayee - I remember telling you a long time ago that maybe one day we would grow out of each other and move on, but I couldn’t be any more wrong. You always have a place in my heart, you are a true sister to me!! ✨🌻💕
While the Osprey Kamber/Kresta is still our go to pack at the moment, we can't help but be excited for the upcoming hiking, backpacking, and bike packs hitting the shelves soon. Be on the lookout at your local Osprey dealer to check out some of the new goods! // 📸 : @dan.holz.photo & @ospreypacks
Spent the day exploring JTNP!
We were going to be in Joshua Tree last week. In fact, we had reservations to stay for a bit in Jumbo Rocks (with some other fine folks)...but because of the government shutdown and all the nonsensical people who responded poorly and wrecked havoc on the landscape, we made other plans so as not to add to the strain on the overworked and unpaid staff.
Happy to report that the park is recovering, thanks largely to some fine volunteers and organizations in the surrounding area who volunteered to come in and clean up other people’s messes. They are still understaffed, though we did see a few rangers, and they are begging people to, if you come into the park at all, please - leave no trace.
Please be kind & considerate to our parks...and to each other & our Earth!
Tag someone you would like to hike here with! ♥️
February is one of the best months to visit Death Valley. And with romantic lodging and dining options at the mission-style Inn at Death Valley and the elegantly rustic @oasisatdeathvalley , venturing out into nature with someone you love can still be classy and comfy. Not a bad option for Valentine's Day...just sayin'!
“The miracle of the light pours over the green and brown expanse of saw grass and of water, shining and slow-moving below, the grass and water that is the meaning and the central fact of the Everglades of Florida. It is a river of grass." - Marjory Stoneman Douglas, The Everglades: River of Grass, 1947
Rocky Mountain National Park is definitely on my list of favorites and we’re so lucky to live close to this beautiful place! We have been to RMNP many times, but this picture is special to me because it was the first time we had taken Bear, our teardrop trailer out for a test camping trip before traveling around the country for 10 months. We were SO excited for full time travel, I can still remember how I felt when we took this picture ❤️
A successful trip to RMNP definitely takes a couple days. In the summer, I recommend camping inside the park, hiking a few trails and driving the scenic roads. You’ll see beautiful views and lots of wildlife (just remember to keep your distance from the animals). And after your trip, take some time to visit Estes Park next door. I think this is a good place to start if you want a true Colorado experience ☺️ #thevaliantlife#RMNP#rockymountainnationalpark
Everyone else is posting light trail squiggles, so I guess I’ll try some too. 😂

...Your mind is a powerful thing! When we fill it with positive thoughts, we often have positive reactions!
This past week I got to spend time with some of my closest friends, and even made new ones as we attended our 5th annual Yosemite backpacking trip.
As the first couple days went by as any other camping trip hiking, drinking and telling stories around the campfire, it wasn’t until Friday that I got the ultimate opportunity to summit one of my all time bucket list hikes...Half Dome!!
But getting to the summit wasn’t gonna be all that easy. Fortunately for me and @allyssa.imano, we had @phamtastically_lost to give us a quick mountaineering lesson on how to climb the cables w/out the poles up. Yeah it was intimidating as hell, but I also had a rush of excitement I’ve never felt before!
After about 1 hr + with only our harness, ropes, carabiners, crampons and gloves, we made it to the summit!
It was a feeling of relief and pride. Once making it to the top, the first thing I told Vu was “Dude, you just helped me cross off one of my all time bucket list hikes”. He then says “I didn’t do anything man! You climbed up here, you learned the technique and you had the will to want to do it, so that’s all you man!”
So thanx again man!!...so sick!
Also, big thanx to @danny_magill and @_freddyromero_ for the motivation as well! Enjoyed my time with you guys!!
