  • I keep thinking back to our infertile years and how I longed for exactly this. It’s my whole life in one photo. I can still feel how fervently I wanted to be a mother. I remember how it eats at you. Sometimes I swear I can feel that fire that burned inside me on the hardest days; but now it’s replaced with this insane, suffocating kind of love for the little boy who ended it all. I can still attest that even my toughest days as Mama are but a blip on the scale when compared to how defeated I felt waiting to get here. I’m honored to be here, doing exactly this, with exactly these two. My whole world in one photo.

Not only did Michael send the modern test pieces at your local crag, but he did it without a rope. Reardon was a bright light and so much more for those who knew him. To the rest of the world he was one of the most accomplished free soloist of all time. . Here he is seen doing what he loved most. Soloing above the Atlantic seas of Ailladie, Ireland where Michael said, “felt like home.” A Californian man, Michael had been to Ireland 4 times. He must had loved it there. . Some of his beautiful climbs include: . -1,000 individual solos in 30 days and 100 first ascent solos up to 5.12 at Joshua Tree National Park, CA. . Onsight solo of 214 routes in England including Neon Dust (5.13b/c) . Onsight solo of 240 routes in Ireland including the first ascent of Rainy Days (5.12+) at Ailladie. . • ➡️swipe⬅️ It can be so easy to be afraid of those things we dont understand or are unfamiliar with. If you push past the unknown, often you will find the truest and most rewarding experiences. ---------------------------------------------------- Yosemite's Tunnel View after a winter storm and during the shutdown. We weren't sure what to expect; were the roads going to be plowed, would it be as mistreated as we heard, would it be open even though the signs said the roads were closed? We took a chance and took extra supplies just in case things were different than what we expected. A ranger stopped us to check our tires, our 4wd, our chains and warn us of the possibility for more weather. As we drove into the park it was clear just how few people were here. Still a significant number, but a lot of the familiar stops would only have a couple of cars. Although we may have been apprehensive about the journey, it turned out to be one of my most memorable quick trips to some of the most familiar sights of Yosemite. 5 shot vertical pano cropped to 2:1 ISO100 - F4 - 1/500th - 50mm #emformdesign #tunnelview #yosemitenationalpark

  • Prepping footage from my time in Tanzania and stumbled upon a still I took on my last day in Zanzibar. I got this shot while I was filming a time-lapse on the beach. While I sat I got a chance to take in just how beautiful Zanzibar is. Not just the landscape but the unique rhythm to which it moves. I saw a mother walking her daughter to school. A member of the Masai tribe taking his post. It’s easy to travel somewhere and run from place to place trying to check sites off of a list. But my favorite part of traveling is taking in the real moments, getting to know people and learning what defines a place. It’s important to me to stop and listen in order to even begin to appreciate a place and to return to my home country and share my perspective of said place. . . . #zanzibar #tanzania #africa #indianocean #sunrise #quiet #lovetheworld #bbctravel #travellingtheworld #wanderlust #getoutthere #travelmore #explore #travacs

  • Isaiah 40:8 __________ I returned to the gorge this past weekend to see some of the aftermath of the fires. I took a picture of these trees a few years ago and wanted to compare them to now (if you’re curious, peep my post from May 26th, 2016). Finding encouragement tonight in the things that are not temporary.
