Года 4 назад у нас в деревне в соседнем заброшенном доме завелись лисы. После чего трое лисят частенько стали приходить к нам на участок. Так и подкармливали с рук эти наглые морды до самой осени 🦊
This sweet derp face absolutely melts me! That tiny button nose is adorable but still pretty powerful. Foxes are able smell food in sealed bags, and people have even had recently their buried deceased pets dug up by foxes. Since they burrow so much, a lot of their senses have developed specifically for detecting prey in the ground. .
It also helps them understand the scents left behind from other foxes, as one of their main lines of communications is scent marking. (Along with their banshee blair witch screamo language) .
Many of my shoes have unfortunately been claimed victim by his scent marking, but he always looks up me with this expression afterwards and I can’t really be mad 🤷🏼♀️
Swiper is one of our ambassador animals behind the scenes. Since foxes are not super social with humans, he only interacts with outpost staff and the lucky few who take part in our special programs. If you’d like the chance to see lil Pepito up close, get in touch with @evergladesoutpost for a private behind the scenes tour! .

My little friend the fox. A clear morning with cold wind from the north. A little friend running along the water, searching. You almost miss him, he is so small and fast and perfect camouflaged! He is curious but careful. I like him, the company. He is following us like he follows a polar bear in the wild. When you turn around and get a glimpse of him, he is smiling at you .. does he has a plan? :) ❄️💙🌎
