  • “Life tried to crush her, but only succeeded in creating a diamond”. . I had someone make a comment ”How could you let yourself get so fat! You’re disgusting” Well, let me enlighten you. . I’ve been through a lot in my 28 years. When I was in high school I was hit by a car while walking into school. I herniated 3 disks in my lower back and I had to have my knee completely replaced... I have a nice scar that I get to rock because of that accident.. A few years later, I was in a car accident where I broke my neck in two places (c1 &c4) my c4 also dislocated and I dissected my vertebral artery and had a stroke which partially paralyzed me for over a year. I struggled to lift my arm and leg on my left side and to this day i still can’t feel the top of my left leg and I am still a bit clumsy because of it all. . Here’s the thing... after my accidents I didn’t change the way I ate to make up for my forced inactivity. So as you can imagine my weight started increasing. I’m not making excuses here. I do realize that I am the only person I can blame for “letting myself get so fat” but this is my story. This is why and how it happened. . Here is what is important, I have overcome a lot! I have been through hell and I walked out of those flames carrying buckets of water so I could try to help those who are in the shoes I once was. . I share this story with you because you don’t know the trials that someone else has had to go through. Never judge someone without knowing the whole story. We are all dealing with our own struggles! . Today, I am thankful that I am physically able to walk into the gym and that I am capable of exercising. Because there was a time, when I thought I wouldn’t ever be able to.   • I remember thinking about the amount of effort it was going to take to get back into shape after the birth of my 3rd son. Even as a nutritionist and trainer there were moments when I wanted to throw in the towel. It’s easy to think a professional in my industry wakes up with endless motivation. The reality is that we don’t, well, I don’t.⁣ ⁣ I get tired, hormonal, sick...I’m a working mom of 3 crazy little boys and there are many many moments when I choose family instead of my own needs...sometimes meals are perfectly portioned and well thought out but there are times when I have a handful of m&ms and a shake and call it “dinner” before I collapse into bed at 8pm.⁣ ⁣ My dear friend Adam has always referred to “bodybuilding” as a sport of years and decades - and even as a retired competitor - I agree. This process of finding balance with training, life, food, and body image is one that is never ending. Just as our lives change we have to learn to love each stage of the process....the weight gain, the loss, the injuries, the PRs, the setbacks, the moments when we choose to rest instead of quitting.   • Good morning ☀️ To be honest I haven’t been hitting the gym as much as I want to these past 2 weeks. Sometimes life happens and I have to take care of things. 2-3 times a week has been happening. But let me tell you! I never let myself go. My nutrition has been keeping me on point💪🏻 even though the gym was limited I didn’t use that as an excuse to set back. But any ways.. I hope every one has an amazing day! #fitmom #happysunday.

  • Just now having my coffee for the day! ☕️😁 • How many of my Mom friends out there know that getting up on Sunday, getting yourself showered & dressed plus all 3 kids, all having breakfast & making it to church on time (while there was practically a monsoon going on outside) is a task like no other?! • Well, needless to say, I did not get my coffee this morning. The fact that all of us were fed & looked decent for church was a win in my book! 🙌

  • This week I will be doing an egg fast! If you’re new around here you may be asking “what the hell is an egg fast” well, buckle in because I’m about to tell you! —— My way of egg fasting. There are different ways, but this is my way and I get the best results this way. For 5 days (Monday-friday) Every meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner) I will eat 2 eggs and 2oz of healthy fats or cheese. By the end of the day I will have consumed 6 eggs and 6 Oz of cheese or healthy fats (grass fed butter, MCT oil, coconut oil) that’s it! —— Check out my highlight reel of egg waffles, egg loaf or check out my egg fast reel which shows every meal i have eaten on an egg fast. —— FAQ: •”can I drink coffee” Yes! 1 cup of coffee or 1 cup of tea is allowed each day! •”can I eat veggies?” I don’t. It’s an egg fast. • “how long does the fast last?” I personally do 5. Some do 3 I’ve even seen some do 21 days. It’s your preference. •”do you gain the weight back?” I’ve done the fast 3 times and gained nothing back.
