Expectation influences pain! (1) 👶
While the video shows the principle applied to a baby, the same goes for those of you with chronic back pain. Unfortunately many people, including some doctors, have a misunderstanding of how pain works and automatically assume that there is a "structural" cause to the pain that needs to be "found" on an X-ray or MRI, which simply isn't the case. (2)
Long term pain is in many cases the result of our nervous system tripping. The best way to make things right again is to EXERCISE. There is strong evidence that resistance training with 2-3 sets of 8-12 reps reduces long term back pain and improves function. (3) Same goes for stability exercises and cardio!
So if you have had back pain for a long time (years) without any doctors being able to "figure out" what's wrong, start exercising regularly. Your body will thank you for it.

Well my second week in my new room is almost over. I still think it’s weird that this is my place and that I’m going to live here for a couple of years. But it does have my kind of touch in it, so it does feel like home. Today I’ve been a bit sick and my gym time has become halftime, from 4 times a week it’s now 2 times a week.. need to find a new gym but it’s a bit hard to find the motivation.
