I remember the day I knew I was different. I was 11 and it was Career Day in Mr. Miranda's class.
He put out a set of flashcards, each including the name of a common profession with a bold black marker.
Doctor, Firefighter, Librarian, Nurse, Lawyer, Teacher, Construction Worker, Store Manager, Engineer, Architect, you name it.
So many options. Yet so little interest.
Everyone anxiously yanked at cards left and right, while I stood there... waiting for even the slightest change in heart beat as I glanced over every job title.
Surely one would stand out. Just one, Glo. C'mon, pick SOMETHING. Anything!
At this point, I'm the last one standing. Embarrassed and confused, I rushed back to my seat.
I stared at my empty hands, hoping to God whatever exercise this was, had nothing to do with me having to share my choice.
At least I knew being Psychic wasn't my ministry, because I'm immediately asked to stand and read my card; anyone else hate having a last name that starts with A? 😭
I stood in silence. All eyes were on me and as I was no stranger to detention, I accepted my fate and boldly exclaimed: I DON'T WANT TO DO ANY OF THOSE -- SO I DIDN'T PICK A CARD.
As my mouth often got me into trouble, the class snickered and heads jolted at the teacher waiting for a response to my defiance. "Gloria. See me after class." My eyes would harlem shake to the back of my head. Some call this an eye roll, but there's an art to it.
After class, Mr. Miranda said these fateful words to me. "I want you to go home and look up the word ENTREPRENEUR." So I did. And it was that day that I knew I never wanted to be anything else ever since.
I started my first blog that same year, and little did I know that 17 years later, I'd be making a 6-figure income from it.
And now my goal is to teach others how to do the same to scale their businesses.
It hasn't been easy, and I'm betting that my hair is actually gray when exposed to the sun. But it has 1000% been worth it.

Have you guys been to or seen this cafe? Before visiting Bali, I had seen this cafe a bunch on IG, but it totally exceeded my expectations! It was SO GOOD! and obviously cute. Wearing a dress from my latest obsession @palmaaustralia 🌸✨
@thesundaychapter and I also had the cutest puppy visitor while we were eating here, and after Angela posted about the pup, it turned out the dog was lost and the owner was able to locate their dog! So cool how helpful social media can be! 🐶🐶

The Petronas towers! Standing at 425m, these are currently the world's tallest twin towers. Aren't they delightful? 🇲🇾🙂
I use a DSLR as well as a questionable phone camera to take my travel photos. The latter is just easier for taking photos with me in them because I don't feel comfortable setting up a tripod and wondering off and leaving it. Anyway, it's quite hard to get the whole length of the towers in the photo since those things are pretty freaking tall. *
I sat on the grass opposite, swinging my selfie stick up and down trying to get a photo that didn't chop the top of them off like it was the most important thing I'd ever done in my life 😅
Unfortunately I was so preoccupied with looking at my selfies that I hadn't realised I'd sat right in an ant's nest 😭😭 When I realised there were ants all over my legs I quickly jumped up and brushed them all off, but then a little later I was strolling around the park and noticed a trail of ants crawling out of my shorts and literally had ants in my pants 😭 Had to run into the towers and shove past all of these elegant Gucci glad people to scoop ants out of my knickers. Ever sophisticated 💁🏻♀️💁🏻♀️ #solofemaletraveler

Twirling my way back to Asia ✨ I have two weeks in January to travel before my acting classes start full force. I’m so excited to visit home in Taiwan and film loads of sweet, sweet content. Also got a week to travel elsewhere...so the question is where to fam? 😳
Today marks one week until Christmas! 🎄 It’s always been my favorite holiday, and this last weekends @atltravelgirls meetup has me feeling extra thankful to be spending my first Christmas and New Years’ in Atlanta. 🌃
Sometimes moving to a new city is hard. Other times, you meet a whole group of like-minded women in one afternoon. Huge thank you to @sj.journeys and @theblonderer for putting this event together and for creating @atltravelgirls 💃🏼 it was so fun to share our travel experiences together, and can’t wait to see what 2019 holds for all of us. Cheers, ladies! 🥂
BTW @poncecityroof was perfect for meeting new friends on Sunday, and it has to be the best place in ATL to get in the holiday spirit. Who could pass up igloos, ice skating, and s’mores? ⛸

Happy birthday to the man who keeps me on my toes, adventures by my side, and never loses sight of our dreams 🎈
Here’s looking to another year filled with love, adventure, joy and celebration in life and all that it gives to us 💫
One of the most memorable moments on our Mexico trip was seeing thousands of monarch butterflies flying around Cerro Pelón 🦋 Every year monarch butterflies migrate to Mexico to hibernate in oyamel trees from November until March. In order to see the butterflies we took horses up the forest. After about an hour we got to a clearing and that’s when we noticed thousands of butterflies flying above us. It was such a surreal feeling ✨ Our group (about 6 of us + our guides) were the only ones there so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was so peaceful being able to lay there and stare up at the skies and just watch them roam around ✨ (side note: we went towards the end of hibernation which was why they were so active. If you go earlier they’ll be hibernating and covering up the trees. Kinda creepy, kinda neat!)
El Rosario is the famous butterfly sanctuary everyone goes to. I believe the one I went to was smaller but I much prefer the quiet over the crowd! 〰️〰️〰️
Interesting fact: the monarch butterflies fly back to the same location every year for hibernation. However it’s NOT the same butterfly that’s making this trek. Four generations pass by in the time to make this migration. So great grandma’s the one that starts the journey but great grandchild (did I get that right?) is the one that actually gets to Mexico!

Not quite dreaming of sugarplums, but hard to forget these fall leaves dancing on the concrete walls of the @amangiri entranceway. Here's to a bright, light, and merry week ahead!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Amangiri, Utah // November, 2018
"Sickly" sweet post of the week: feeling extra lucky and grateful for this handsome man who has spent the past week taking care of me through all the coughing, nose-blowing, and snoring that comes with the lovely winter cold going around; for taking care of all the cleaning and cooking (....or food procurement); and for watering our Christmas tree every night at my half-Nyquiled insistence. You're always my favorite person and the best teammate. I can't wait for our next adventure.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If we were meant to be in one place, we'd have roots instead of feets ✨✨
