Appreciating the many meals radishes make better: An incredible hamachi crudo with radishes and granita at my favorite neighborhood restaurant. I believe that the hamachi was served with lemon granita, but wolfed it down (pun intended) so quickly that am not sure now. 🤔 [Thank you @hilarymcmullen for helping this amateur with this pix]

🌽💷 EAT WELL SPEND LESS - EXERCISE 4💷🌽
Spend at least one week only allowing yourself to buy what is on your shopping list. No extras! The planning and shopping discipline may take a little time to get used to, but it is worth persevering.
Off-list shopping and impulse buys are the biggest enemy for anyone wanting to keep to a budget. Do not go to the supermarket hungry. You are more likely to shop off-list when you do.
This week, I will be sharing my tips on how to eat well and spend less, but you can also CLICK ON THE LINK IN MY BIO for free tips and resources.
🍋🌿Slabs of 'Lemon & Thyme Syrup Cake' are on the Stand this week. A great @nigelslater recipe --- I love this cake anytime of the year but seasonally appropiate right now. Made with unwaxed Spanish lemons and Sussex thyme (from my back garden!)🌿🍋
Céide Mountain Lamb. We had this absolute feast on a class trip to the Céide Fields in County Mayo . As a Wicklow woman with a strong bias in favour of Wicklow lamb , I have to (reluctantly) admit this is the best lamb I have ever tasted . Simply cooked over a fire, it was sweet, tender and had the subtle flavours of the lamb's diet of fragrant heather and salty grass from its Atlantic coastal environment. When was the last time you had a shrink wrapped lamb cutlet with that kind of flavour?
Today 'The Lancet' has made news headlines as it describes how our human diet is causing catastrophic damage to the planet and to our own health. A recommendation for a plant based diet with a drastic reduction in our meat consumption is the ongoing message. I'd much prefer a rare treat of meat like this , than overdose on highly processed meat that has been intensively reared . By choosing to eat less meat but always choosing high quality, we can support farmers like these fine looking poster boys for Céide Mountain Lamb! 😉 Not to mention supporting a much more ethical way of farming. These lambs roam freely on the Atlantic coastline around Belderrig, Co Mayo and are slaughtered close to where they have spent their life grazing thus ensuring minimum stress. Distributed through @odaiosfoods (Wicklow Lamb an equally good choice !!! 💕😅🐑) Thanks to chef @tadghbyrne , great job !
