  • Train to LIVE BETTER. What do I mean by this? Whether you’re training for strength, to shed a few pounds of body fat, or add a bit of lean muscle, we should all be training to live a better quality of life. By better quality of life a few things that pop to mind are: ⚠️ Being pain free ⚠️ Feeling strong & fit, capable of handling the mental & physical daily demands ⚠️ Waking up feeling energised and refreshed ⚠️ Having control of how we feel Now we can’t be 100% on everything all the time, but we can do our best to be aware of what we are doing and why. Single-minded goals like ascetics can often lead to us feeling worse, putting continuous strain on our joints whilst neglecting functional/mobility work. I know many young people in chronic pain from relentlessly smashing the weights in an attempt to look ‘fit’ (I made these mistakes in my early 20’s and still pay for it) A well rounded approach to your training will always win & will help us avoid burnout & potentially plateauing. If training is taking its toll & not bettering your quality of life then I urge you to re-evaluate your current program/training method. Take time to create a balanced approach. When you are training, train like a savage & train smart, and when it comes to rest, respect it. So many gym users are lifting very heavy weights and do not maintain proper back, hips, knees positions, then no warm up and cool down... After few months they're getting horrible joints discomfort and muscle stiffness, relying on physiotherapy or deep massage. If you will take just 5 minutes of proper stretching after your strength or HIIT training, you will never complain about any muscles or joints pain and discomfort. Be your own doctor, learn your body, go out of comfort zone and heal yourself naturally.

Here’s my top 10 tips on how to battle hunger; 1️⃣ Drink more water. Before reaching for a snack have a drink of water, this will help to dilute stomach acid and make you feel full. 2️⃣ Hit the gym. Working out will actually help reduce hunger with the added benefit of increasing your daily expenditure. 3️⃣ Add extra protein to your meals to help keep you fuller for longer. 4️⃣ Stay out of the kitchen! Hunger is more often than not boredom, why not go for a walk to help keep you busy. 5️⃣ Get more sleep. Try having a nap before snacking, we often mistake tiredness for hunger. 6️⃣ Try adding more fiber to your diet, adding extra green vegetables to your meals will fill you up without the additional calories. 7️⃣ Drink more coffee. Types of training can include weight training, bodyweight training, running, swimming, cycling, plyometric training, Olympic lifting, etc etc! Once you have decided on a type of training you will need a progressive program that will lead you to your goals. Learn the correct exercise technique for each movement to make sure you reduce your chances of injury and allow you to continue on your training plan without any stopping. Track progress and keep working hard!
