Spending time in the desert is always special. Some say it changes you. November found me in what felt like another planet. With no one around, my imagination began to wander. At night it was filled with creatures lurking about. Great citadels standing guard and not letting anything or anyone pass through its walls. Not even to take a peak and see what’s on the other side. .
Quiver trees, or Kokerbooms, grow mostly in the Northern Cape and Southern Namibia.
The Northern Cape even has an entire culinary route named after them! You'll find wine, brandy, karoo lamb, brilliant orange sunsets and sweet treats along the Kokerboom Food and Wine Route.

Today we visited the @thelivingdesert , a gorgeous zoo located in the Palm Springs area. We had such a good time feeding the giraffes, petting the goats, and watching all those wonderful animals everywhere. It was one of the best maintened zoo we ever visited.
"All of us are by design or by default on the move. We are on the move even if, physically, we stay put: immobility is not a realistic option in a world of permanent change. And yet the effects of that new condition are radically unequal. Some of us become fully and truly "global"; some are fixed in their "locality" - a predicament neither pleasurable nor endurable in the world in which the "globals" set the tone and compose the rules of the life-game." - Zygmunt Bauman

Sessions at 'The Sanctuary' @magneticfieldsfestival include DESERT BLOOM, Acroyoga by Tre @chiefwowow and @larasaluja - Taking yoga from earth to sky, AcroYoga focusses on synchronising breath in movement, building strength and finding balance.
Callisthenics master Tre and Aerial artist Lara will host this AcroYoga workshop and attendees will be led through a playful and noncompetitive sequence, starting with partnered activities to establish connection and trust and a warm-up and conditioning, followed by stance and alignment cues leading into postures and play, and finally winding down with elements of Thai massage and partner stretching.
CARRY YOUR YOGA MAT - we’ll have towels and things on-hand but a mat is ideal.
