An alternative view of St Magnus Cathedral, taken from the back of the graveyard. It's such a fascinating place to explore, and the custodians have even put together a self-guide leaflet highlighting points of interest in the graveyard itself. It's definitely worth picking one up next time you're in Kirkwall 😀 #visitorkney#loveorkney
The photo that I took on my last day in London before heading out to the airport. This park reminded me a little of Rittenhouse Square!
A few good travel tips via @airbnb’s mag and my personal experience:
✈️ Check out the @hopper app to view which are the most affordable times of the year to travel to your preferred destination. The app is really cool and lets you watch flights and sends you notifications on when to book or to keep watching. Flying off-season has its pros in that it’s cheaper and you deal with less crowds. @kayak’s explore page shows you some great deals as well. I also really like Google Flight’s search feature.
✈️ I love the travel guides on @cntraveler’s website, they’re a pretty good for getting some ideas of starting points in particular neighborhoods. ✈️ Youtube is a great resource as well, since people make some super detailed videos (you can find ones on how to use the Paris metro system for instance). I think it’s fun how on YT you can find guides to the best Instagram spots in any particular city and some will give you tips on how to score those perfect shots.
✈️ Some airlines like TAP Air Portugal offer convenient layover plans so you can see two cities in one trip. TAP has a nice Lisbon and Barcelona itinerary so you get like 2 days in Barcelona with your final destination being Lisbon. Icelandair would be another great one to consider if you’re going to Scandinavia you can layover in Reykjavik.
✈️ If you’re based in Philly, considering flying out from Newark airport, if you’re headed to Europe, to save hundreds of dollars. I track flights from PHL airport and Newark’s. You also have to weigh the cost of convenience.
🎫 Start tracking international flight deals 6 months out and book 4-5 months out. Track domestic trips 3 months out and book 1-2 months out.
I ducked into the Saatchi Gallery because it was pouring rain and it was a convenient spot to pass the time AND admission was free. I’m gonna be honest, this collection was tough. The gallery specializes in contemporary art and that can be either really interesting and thought-provoking (as were the pieces at the Tate Modern) or they can be a head-scratching, as was a lot of this work in this gallery in my opinion. Although I do appreciate that contemporary art really pushes the boundaries around what can be considered “art”. Also some of these pieces were just kind of hysterical lol.
This gallery is located in Chelsea, which is the same neighborhood in which you can find Sloane Square and all the great shopping options.

Back when we were still living in the Netherlands I went to the gym 6 to 7 days a week.
Not to be massive, like bodybuilding, but, you know, just to stay in good shape and feel healthy.
I have to admit it has been a challenge.
There is no real gym here. I saw one along the road, open air, but now with the dry season coming and all the dust in the air there is now way I’m getting out of breath there😄
So you do what you have to do.
You’ll find me on the beach every morning at 7:05 to go for a run and do exercises on the beach. (Schoolbus leaves at 7😊)
What I love the most is that I never run into other people.
I finish my workout with a dive into the Pacific Ocean.
Lucky, our beautiful stray dog jumps in as well.
Then the day can start.
And best of all? It’s almost December! Normally I would wear thick jackets and hats to stay warm😄🌴 #puravida -

This week is all about the love! For a few reasons: 1. We do a lot of couples trips. 2. It’s December 17th and if you are still clamoring for a gift idea for your other half, then look no further. One husband surprised his wife last Christmas with a trip to Japan, where over the course of nine days they indulged in the weirdness and wonder of this cultural heaven, splitting their time between Tokyo and Kyoto with a countryside ryokan in the middle.
An exciting arrival in Prague for two days with @lasvitdesign to review our final bespoke lighting installations. Beyond excited to see these beautiful creations (and the Christmas Markets!!)... 🎄✨ #Prague#Lasvit
One more week until the big guy comes 🎅🤗 which means there's still one more week to catch this Christmas projection on City Hall. Every 15mins, a creative light display tells an Australian Christmas story and it's definitely worth a watch if you can fit it in - you know with all the last minute Christmas shopping, present wrapping, Christmas parties and everything else that happens at this time of year.

Following the red paths through the jungle of Sigiriya, we found this tree that really stood out from the rest 🌳
Reminded us about our own desire as humans to stand out and be unique and how this can be the driving force that pushes us to become our best versions 💯
We believe that in order to become your best version, you must embrace change! Just don't lose yourself in the process! Stay true to yourself and your roots 🌱

G is for Gluten Free Afternoon Tea...we visited Istanbul back in February and I didn’t post on this account as I was in a “I hate Instagram” mood which I still am if I’m honest. @lisa_nz_ organised afternoon tea at the Pera Palace Hotel which is famous as it’s the starting / finishing point of the Orient Express train journey way back in the day.
Was a bit stuck on the letter G...was thinking Greymouth but have no photos as we arrived at 5pm and almost everything was shut...it was pouring with rain...it was torrential...we ended up going through the McD’s drive through as we didn’t want to get out of the car as we had already dried off at least once during the day...ahhh travelling.
I’m a bit behind in my #atoz2018travels alphabet so will catch up!
