  • I tried out @brooklynboulders & OMG rock climbing is a serious workout! My arms & core are still thanking me😜 Their facility is also massive!! They have sooo many different rock walls for all levels, a gym, cardio room, room for fitness classes, infrared sauna, work space (in case a work call comes in) & more! I was V impressed. They’re also a quick subway ride from the city & trust me, it’s easy to kill some time there. They’re also having their annual birthday party on Friday 12/7... check my stories for deets!

  • Here's another comp climb from my trip to @brooklynboulders. For those who don't know about their comp, they number all the problems 1-66 and the range is v0 to v-something difficult. lol I tried this problem before the real grade was posted so for reference its numbered 61. Its was a fun climb, I hope its still there for my next visit. The excellent cinematography credit goes to @dominion146 @beta_labs @arcteryxsoho

What if we put off doing the things that are scary for the rest of our lives? Will we ever harness our full potential in our careers, our relationships, our spiritual awakenings? - And so I keep climbing. - I’m going to go to scary places even when I feel tired, unworthy, and alone. I’m going to challenge myself to do things until I fail and then do them again because that’s where growth happens. - I think you should go too. - My thoughts now: “That was pretty high but I think I can go higher.” - Let’s go together. #sarasweats

  • Taping for ankle sprain swelling & bruising 😎 . What is this you ask? I'm sure you've seen it someone with it during an exercise video or competition. 🏋🏻‍♂️🤾🏻‍♀️ . Had a patient take a bad fall while crushing a #bouldering problem 😓so I whipped out my trusty #rocktape and got to work. . Application of this tape results in improved flow of fluids below the region of application. To put simple, improved flow during time of swelling or bruising is really good!! . I’m not a big fan of taking medications myself so I prefer to tape instead of resorting to pills 💊 . Irrelevant if she has: addiction, chronic illness, debt, an eating disorder, been abusive/abused, self harm scars, trauma, mental illness-- **Literally ANYTHING that you cannot gain from looking just at someone's body** . . Our society supports and values thinness over other bodies: thin people are seen as healthier, more disciplined, smarter. By making thin "good" and not thin "bad" we dehumanize and bolster diet culture. Thin privilege is rampant because thin means you are worth more...but people aren't good or bad because of their bodies. . . Every body deserves the love and support that a picture like this garners across Instagram because it's "acceptable". Practice rejecting the idea that a green juice or visible abs makes someone more valuable. Practice rejecting the idea that you need to fix your body. . . You can love your body, you can be working on your compassion towards your body, or even cultivating neutrality. But you can't bundle up all that you are into something worth a like. I'm more than that, and so are you, wild thing. . . .
