  • Zombie incoming... 🧟‍♀️ . We had gale force winds last night and I just could not sleep. Through the night I ended up listening to 3 episodes of the Sleep with Me podcast, I listened to Harry Potter and I ended up reading my book at 4.30am for a while too. The rest of the time was spent just lying there counting sheep 🐑🐑🐑 and anytime I got close to dropping off there was a HUGE gust of wind rattling around my window. So yes, I am running on empty today 🤦🏼‍♀️ . I also have a job interview tomorrow 😬 I’m hoping my lack of sleep last night will conk me out tonight and I won’t be rolling around full of anxiety or the interview will be a disaster 😂 I just want it to be over so I can focus on feeling festive 🎄 . ANYWAY, enough complaining 💁🏼‍♀️ look at the latest @scribnerbooks editions! 😍 I haven’t read The Sun Dog yet but Apt Pupil is one of the most disturbing stories I’ve ever read 👀 we need Shawshank next!! . . . . . . . . . . . . #stephenking #horror #horrorfan #bookmail #novellas #newbooks #bookcollection #bookcollector #bibliophile #bookstagram #reading #igreads #bookworm #booknerd #booklover #booklove #lovebooks #bookish #bookaddict #read #fiction

  • Hello 👋 my loves and happy Tuesday! This week, I am reading and entirely captivated by Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood. The storytelling style is so fun and unique and I love it so so much! I’m so happy that the Netflix adaptation exists so I could find my love for Atwood’s work! 😍 . . Has anyone else found a new author this year that they’re now OBSESSED with?? For me, there are a few! Stephen King, Margaret Atwood, and Jay Kristoff are at the top of my list now! Tell me, who are yours? 😍

⠀ #oslivrosdadani

  • (🇬🇧) I love reading indoors, especially with a warm blanket and a hot cup of tea on hand. I spend hours like that. But sometimes I really feel the need to go outside, to get some fresh air and to connect with nature. The sunlight and the whispering leaves create the perfect atmosphere. • #AmorLitterarum #books #beautifulbooks #bookstagram #lovetoread #bookcollection #bookaddiction #bookworm #loveforbooks #instabook #booklife #literature #booksbooksbooks #readingislife #bookgeek #bookaholic #booklife #reading #readingtime #booklover

  • The truth is Chris and I constantly talk. We are able to have the most nonsense conversations ever. We just love sharing crazy wild ideas with each other. If anyone ever listened to our conversations, we would probably end up in a mental institution. But after Jack broke the news I couldn’t talk. I let my best friends voice fill the Uber while I stared out the windows aimlessly. My thoughts were all over the place and Chris knew that. He gave me the time I needed to process things. He never pushed me to talk if I didn’t feel like it. He always knew what I needed. And at that moment, all I needed was someone to talk and fill the emptiness within me. . I never knew why Chris understood me much better than my boyfriend… ex-boyfriend. But he did. Somehow, he and I were the same. Jack was different. He was the type of guy who had his entire life figured out, shooting for success, while I was still searching for myself. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, besides writing a book. I used to have an internship too, since my parents wouldn’t let me major only in creative writing and I ended up attending Business College. I landed a decent position with one of the major banks, but I got bored of going to work after three weeks. Who in their right mind would sit all day and stare at numbers? Exactly. Now I worked in a bookstore, which consisted of me sitting in a chair and reading. . Chris felt the same about his own life. He was offered the same position at the same company as Jack currently held, but he didn’t accept it. He just wanted to play music. His parents thought he was crazy and used to constantly tell him that. None of us knew what will happen three or five years from now and we were fine with it. We were still young, and we had so much time to figure out life at our own pace. Jack was different. He wanted it all and immediately. I wondered sometimes, how could they be twins?

  • “It was a comet. The boy saw the comet and he felt as though his life had meaning. And when it went away, he waited his entire life for it to come back to him. It was more than just a comet because of what it brought to his life: direction, beauty, meaning. There are many who couldn't understand, and sometimes he walked among them. But even in his darkest hours, he knew in his heart that someday it would return to him, and his world would be whole again... And his belief in God and love and art would be re-awakened in his heart. The boy saw the comet and suddenly his life had meaning.” ☄️ #shoreditch #london #photography #secretgarden #kingsland #quotes #bookworm #igers #colour #instagood #globetrotter #travel #girlswhotravel #uk #axparis

  • Oh my god what a complete Aisling – Emer Mclysaght and Sarah Breen ⭐️ ⭐️ 📚Rating: I really wanted to enjoy this book. But whilst I found large parts of it very funny, it wasn’t quite what I had hoped for ⭐️ ⭐️ 📚Why I read it: This book is sponsoring a podcast I love, and I thought the concept sounded really good ⭐️ ⭐️ 📚Highlights: We follow Aisling, a country girl from Ireland, caught up in her late-20s whirlwind of engagements, hen parties, and weddings. Despite being with her boyfriend for 7 years, he still hasn’t popped the question. Things come to a head on a ‘romantic’ break to Tenerife --- and Aisling is suddenly single, She moves to Dublin, and turns over a new page. However, there are a fair few bumps along the way. I had seen such good reviews of this book but sadly I didn’t feel it quite worked for me as a whole. Large parts were really funny, and it was easy to read. In particular, I did empathise with Aisling: her meticulous holiday planning, her long-suffering washing up, and her general frustrated distinction between going ‘out’ and ‘out out’. However, I didn’t feel like I could connect with many of the other characters. Some of her friends were a bit stereotypical (and often slightly hysterical and immature), letting down the good writing about Aisling herself. I also thought there were a lot of opportunities for discussion of interesting topics: concepts of moving to a big city, caring for family relations, abortion rights in Ireland. However, these were glossed over. Nevertheless, if you want to read this don’t let me put you off – there were definitely some funny bits, and a lot scenes I connected with ⭐️ ⭐️ 📚Summary: individual passages of this book are hilarious and heartwarming. But the plot as a whole felt slightly incomplete #femaleauthors #christmasreads #highlowpodcast #thehighlow

  • ❤️Between Ice & Frost ❤️ Amazon US Amazon UK Amazon AU Amazon CA Raven Casino loves solving mysteries. So it was only natural that she take to the Alaskan wild to find her missing friend, Juliet. She is ready to take on the world to figure out where Juliet could be. But she wasn’t expecting to meet not one, but two hunks in the icy small town of Antler, Alaska. These two were so sexy they radiated enough heat to melt the polar ice caps. Hot damn! Frost and Ice were hired to make sure Raven was safe, but the minute they saw her, they knew she was the missing piece to their triad. Now to explain to her that she was meant to be with them both. Shared by both. And not freak her out. That was going to be harder than stopping her from getting herself killed in their little town. There’s something going on in Antler and Raven’s out to find out what they’re hiding. With a missing friend and clues at every corner she turns, she’s taking this bull by the horns. The fantasies with Frost and Ice are a side effect of being so close to them, but she’d get over it. Right? • "It's never too late to trust again, to love or be loved again; and it's never too late to live again." . This was a sweet story, that I knew was going to make me cry, but I read it anyway. And I enjoyed it - an animal book is almost always a good read - even though the author was a little...out there for me. . It's probably just because I come from very practical people, but while I admire how above and beyond he went for this dog, I couldn't help but think "oh come on!" throughout a lot of it. It was a lot. . Maybe I'm just a terrible person 😅 . . . "Drawn by an online post, Tom Ryan adopted Will, a frightened, deaf, and mostly blind elderly dog, and brought him home to live with him and Atticus. The only owners Will ever knew had grown too fragile to take care of themselves, or of him. Ultimately, Will was left at a kill shelter in New Jersey. Tom hoped to give Will a place to die with dignity, amid the rustic beauty of the White Mountains of his New Hampshire home. But when Will bites him numerous times and acts out in violent displays, Tom realizes he is in for a challenge. With endless patience and the kind of continued empathy Tom has nurtured in his relationship with Atticus, Will eventually begins to thrive. Soon, the angry, hurt, depressed, and near-death oldster has transformed into a happy, gamboling companion with a puppy-like zest for discovery. Will perseveres for two and a half years, inspiring hundreds of thousands of Tom and Atticus’s fans with his courage, resilience, and unforgettable heart." . . . #willsredcoat #tombaker #followingatticus #nonfiction #dogs #animals #pets #animalbook #dogbook #dogstory #bookclubbook #bookclub #bookcover #bookstagram #bookworm #igreads #instabooks #bibliophile #decemberread #sweetstory #doglover #whativeread

  • ROLE GAME TIME! You guys!!! I had the funniest idea today! You know what’s one of my favourite scenes in romantic comedies and chick lit novels? When the heroine seems to embarrass herself in front of the guy and it’s a really funny scene! So that’s the inspiration for today’s role game! Which of the following hilarious messes features in your romcom? 1. First time having coffee with that really cute, shy guy from your math class. It’s perfect with him in a cute “Fool of a Took” T-shirt and his sheepish, dimpled smile until his ill-timed joke has you spurting water as you burst out laughing and splashing his face. Only to have him crinkle his face and wipe his face and slowly reach over smiling and pat your chin with the napkin too. 2. You totally kicked ass in your Feminist lit class and you really won the argument against that obnoxious broad shouldered dude, damn him and his black distressed jacket with the “Winter is Coming” patch. It’s only when you’re walking out that you slip and slide onto your bum and quickly scramble up and hope no one saw until you hear a burst of laughter and see him doubling over, clutching his stomach “I saw you, you cutie!” He says and starts laughing all over again. 3. You’re in the campus store and horribly hungry so you begin eating a bag of chips and get to the counter and don’t have your wallet! Line of people behind you and the cashier being so obnoxious and your mouth full of chips until a big, hand with taut tendons slides money on the counter and laughs “it’s on me” and sure enough, it’s that sexy af guy you saw in a ravenclaw T-shirt last week, when you turn to stare at him his eyes crinkle in amusement “you’re welcome” he smiles. #bookish #bookstagram #bookstagrampak #literature #bookstagrammer #bookaddict #bookaholic #booklover #bookworm #booknerd #read #reads #reading #reader #instabook #bookstagramfeature #englishmajor #booknow #bookaesthetic #classics #literature #bookstagramfeature #bookishfeatures #cozyreading #literaturelover #classicliterature #QOTD #funQOTD #wutheringheights #heathcliff #brontë #emilybrontë

  • Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins 5/5 stars 🌟 ———————>>——————— This beautiful boy gives an amused grin. His teeth are lovely—straight on top and crooked on the bottom, with a touch of overbite. I’m a sucker for smiles like this, due to my own lack of orthodontia. I have a gap between my front teeth the size of a raisin. ———————>>——————— Omg. Wow. Okay. I really needed a good book after the last one I read. I’m not going to bash it anymore than my review already did, so let’s just say, I really needed this book. Sigh. It was heaven. At first I was nervous because the beginning was a little too romantic for my liking. But then the slow burning fire raged and I was like, yup, this is more my speed. English accent was so genius. Especially in France with an American girl. Wow. It was just so well thought out. And I love Anna. Love her. Yes she frustrated me to no end, but I love her. I could never get enough of her. I love her concept of home. That it isn’t always a place. That’s beautifully poetic and sappy, yet so true. I’ve encountered that in my life and it can be confusing, but so reassuring when you finally discover the truth of it. Wow, vague enough? Yeah, just read the book. You’ll get it. I highly recommend this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and once I allowed myself to really immerse myself within it, I could not put it down. I officially dub it unputdownable. I feel like I can’t properly gush about all the reasons why I loved it without giving away critical pieces of the plot. So, I’m just going to leave it at this: this book was bloody brilliant and you should enjoy it. ———————>>——————— #qotd — What first love books have you enjoyed this year?
