Sweat is the secret sauce
Often times we want the short cut to results. We want the results without the work without realizing the power comes from the process. The end result is NEVER as powerful as the journey.
Never forget that
**Review** Running with Scissors is a memoir about a young boy who is homosexual and his dysfunctional family. His mom is struggling with mental problems and his father a professor at a University is an alcoholic and abusive. The boy finds himself living elsewhere (with neither parent) where his living situation can only be explained as bizarre. I have recently become a fan of Memoirs that are so outrageous its hard to fathom. So this was right up that alley. I give Running With Scissors 4 🌟🌟🌟🌟. Anyother really good memoirs? Drop below!👇🏽

He feels that his charm and the power of the "D" will be the answers to Charlene Wilson and Keyshia Green’s every prayer. Little does he know that Charlene has a few hidden secrets of her own that will bring more drama into the mix than Marcus has ever seen in his entire lifetime.
Marcus’s girlfriend, Keyshia Green does whatever ...whenever...however ...anything to please her precious Marcus. She’s invested her time and plenty of effort to do whatever it takes to keep her man around. She is determined to win in the end but at what cost?
Marcus definitely is wanting to have all his birthday cake and two scoops of ice cream on the side....besides he knows that neither Keyshia nor Charlene ain't going anywhere with all that good mind blowing sex that he’s putting on both of them. The only thing is he never thought of the consequences that would take place after all of his mind games.
Things begin to spiral out of control and his world suddenly is turned upside down. What do you do when your back is against the wall? How do you handle drama that you never believed imaginable? Who do you turn to when you find out that your world is slowly but surely becoming down right GUTTA?🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
We’re not hostile, we’re passionate. They go low, we go high. They say no, we defy. They didn’t want us to read, kept us out of libraries they built. Now we are the biggest buyers of books, so we can read you for filth.” / Poem by @amandaseales#BlackGirlMagic

After reading “Men We Reaped”, I was reminded of two other books I’ve read that tell the heartbreaking stories of Black men with troubled life circumstances. Similar to Ward’s book, “Cuz” & “The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace” were written by authors closely connected to the main characters, but separated by options to follow a different life path. •
While reflecting on each book, I considered how different the narratives would be if the subjects were given the opportunity or the privilege to tell their own story. I appreciated the amount of care each writer took to give their loved ones a voice even if the stories of pain and loss were ones they wished they never had to tell.
Tonight's discussion with my OG's (African American Book Discussion Group) was @bernicelmcfadden "Praise Song for the Butterflies" by Bernice L. McFadden. My ladies agreed hands down the best read for 2018! Abeo is my "She"ro
”I just can't give up now.
I've come too far from where I started from.
Nobody told me the road would be easy but I don't believe you brought me this far to leave me.” 🙏🏾
Thank you for all the love. Today was a good day to launch a book. I feel like I can finally enjoy a drink and reflect on the long nights, canceled plans, missed trips and mornings I woke up extra early to get to today.
You were with me at every turn giving me support and the encouragement that I COULD DO IT!
Today we launched a book to the world! To say thank you for all of your support, this week’s podcast is on fear and there’s a shout out to @olumination who helped me conquer the fear that held me back for years.
I couldn't record the episode until I tackled my own fears and released my book to the world.
Thanks for sticking with me. It always seems impossible until its finished. I can't wait to see what's next! Remember if it was easy, anyone would do it.
