  • All I see when I look at this picture are cold ankles... 👀 The cold walk prepped me for a hot drink, I guess. 😏 In fact, I’ve had a busy week of very wintery things including gift wrapping, morning coffee, movie nights, and picking out and decorating our first Christmas tree! In typical Megan and Murat fashion, we completely overdid it and bought an 8 foot tree, so you could say our apartment got a LOT smaller and a LOT more festive. 🤣🎄 • 💭 How is your week going? Doing anything fun or festive? 💭

  • What was the last book you purchased? Have you gotten around to reading it yet or is it going to be staying on your shelf for a while?? 🤔 💙 💙 As I mentioned yesterday, the last book I purchased was King of Scars! Though as that’s a preorder I won’t have it in my hands until next year! 😅 before that, the last book I purchased was Queen of Air and Darkness and considering I haven’t read the first two books yet, that’s going to be sitting on my bookshelf for a while... 😂 💙 💙 I rarely ever read books as I buy them - probably because I buy like five at a time 🙈 At least I always have a new book to pick up once I finish one! 📖 💙 💙 #bookstagram #bookphotography #igreads #instareads #bookish #reading #bibliophile #aussiebibliophile #instabook #booknerd #bookworm #yafiction #bookstagramfeature #bookfeaturepage #booknerd

  • I was hoping I would get to this beauty before the end of the year, but I don't know if that will happen. (Thank you again @doubledaybooks #partner) I'm considering listening to it on audiobook via @scribd. Has anyone read this or listened to it on audiobook?⠀ ⠀ ⠀ P.S. If you are interested in checking out Scribd’s audiobook or ebook selections I have a link in my profile. You can get a free month of unlimited audiobooks, ebooks, and magazines when you signup through the link in my profile. After that it’s only $9/month.

  • You’ll have to take my word for it that this picture smells like Christmas. Thank you for the birthday wishes yesterday! I had a wonderful day, was given some wonderful gifts (case in point, my current read in clothbound classic form), and was taken to see Les Mis with my hub. All in all, a pretty great day. This evening I’m looking forward to seeing some lovely ladies who I’ve gotten to know through Bookstagram for a festive drink 🍷 Back to the book, I’m maybe 10% of the way through David Copperfield and am really enjoying it so far. Picking up a Dickens was definitely the right choice to make! Do you have anything special planned in the lead up to the festive period? Books, parties, outings?

  • •Banana Yoshimoto week• This week will be entirely dedicated to one of my literary love, Banana Yoshimoto. She gives me every time calm, spiritual joy and the power to dream. It’s not even about the plot she creates, but just all the words she put together. What author makes you calm and peaceful?

  • During my 27-hour trip to London last weekend, I stopped off @foylesforbooks to stock up on the good stuff. My non-fiction purchases: 1. The Return by Hisham Matar; 2. Nothing is True and Everything is Possible by Peter Pomerantsev; 3. How The World Thinks by Julian Baggini; 4. The Phantom Atlas by Edward Brooke-Hitching — This year, I read 19 books for pleasure. Next year, with more time on my hands, copious amounts of tea and literature will be my norm. 2019: do more of what makes me happy.

  • Rating: 4⭐️ ~ This is the same rating as I gave the first book, but I actually liked it a *teeny* bit less. I’m still struggling to picture the setting and how things like the ‘feed’ work. 🙈 I also really liked the crew in the first book and missed them here! The new group was cool too, but I’d kind of got attached to the old bunch, hahaha. ~ Hands down the best part was ART though, a transport bot that attaches itself to our favourite Murderbot and insists on watching media featuring human characters. Seriously, what’s not to love about an AI that gets upset when characters in shows die (not gonna lie - I reread that scene like five times 😂😭). And loved ART’s interactions with Murderbot so much! That’s grudging friendship right there. 😆♥️ ~ I’m excited to continue the series, and the thought of a full-length Murderbot novel has me very intrigued indeed! ~ #booknerd #instaread #bookphotography #artificialcondition #murderbotdiaries #marthawells #readingislife #bookaddict #booksofinstagram #bibliophile #bookplaitsreads2018 ~

.... Davnih dana sam sa ovom pesmom pobedila na gradskom takmičenju recitatora i zato zauzima posebno mesto u mom srcu i znam je napamet i dan danas :) . #danzapoeziju #čitajmopoeziju #poezija #poezijausrcu #bookstagram #poetry #booklover #bibliophile #bookworm #bookstagrammer #knjiga #books #citajmo #readingtime

  • #TalkingCatReads The Library At Mount Char by Scott Hawkins, book #54 yr 2018 (horror/fantasy fiction [more like science fiction to me though]) • • • A library with the secrets to the universe. _ I made the above description short so I can gush longer. First, this is not your regular library so proceed with caution. I dived in without knowing anything, and what the fig!!! (This is not a spoiler) Book opens with a blood-drenched Carolyn, who is one of the librarians, walking down Highway 78 in her robe. My initial thought-- something bad must have happened to her. Then I realized she sounded a bit off and weird. I put the book down and debated whether to continue or abandon ship. (I'm pretty squeamish. I start crime and thriller books by reading the last few pages so I don't get too scared) Curiosity won, I picked it up again. Throughout the story, I had put this down several more times, heart pounding, palms sweaty. Oh. My. Gosh. The most bizarre, horrifying, violent, crazy, weird, highly imaginative and funny in a dark, dark way book I have ever read. (The Witching Hour was dark but somehow I expected that) Unforgettable characters, too. There's a part of me that wants to question the narrative, but the reader part, who is so in awe of Scott Hawkins' imagination, just want to enjoy the ride. The scene where Steve was eating and enjoying a cinnamon roll, I find that good. A tiny layer was peeled off to show a sliver of something soft, something human... Guys, this is not for everybody, you are warned, but holy moly, I love this book so very much I can't recommend this highly enough... NOTE: This comes with a trigger warning for extreme violence _ Quotable Quote: "Some people have an enormous capacity for feeling guilt, deserved or otherwise."

  • WAS ERWARTET DICH IN POEMS'N'KISSES? .

  • "I told lies and wondered where I would go if my own past was all I had left." -James Ellroy, The Black Dahlia (L.A. Quartet, #1) Ellroy's crime fiction novel is based on the 1947 murder and mutilation of Elizabeth Short in LA. Originally published in 1887, the novel blends fact and fiction in a gripping tale of the nel-noir style. In it, and in the rest of the LA quartet set in the 1940s, Ellroy presents a dark, seedy Los Angeles, full of crime, corruption and depravity. What sets this novel apart from similar genre pieces of the same period is Ellroy's ability to craft a piece of genre fiction with the depth and seriousness of literary fiction. What do you think of Ellroy and his Dahlia?

  • I've often been asked by friends & well wishers, to make a book reviewing page or make a 'career' out of reading. To be honest, i believe that books are food for soul & I like to devour my reads. I love to taste and feel and experience the aftermath of a good meal. To run a reading marathon has never been my thing, literally. So, it hasn't trickeled down to my reading habits. I prefer my books to last longer, live with me for a while even after I am done reading them. 2018 was a roller coaster ride, it was a bittersweet year full of unprecedented events. I couldn't read as much as I would've loved to. I am hopeful about 2019 and want to feed my mind and soul with books that aren't just good literary pieces but ones that even enhance my *Zauq* Let me know in the comments section if there's one book that you really feel one should read in their lifetime. It could be in any language or genrè, I'd love to know your picks. Warm wishes and lots of love. #books #booksofinstagram #booklover #bibliophile

  • q o t d: Do you ever look at your bookshelf and want to start all the books at once?? No? Am I the only one? I had a holiday luncheon thing to attend today for one the organizations I’m a part of, and you guys. The food was fantastic and I want more. How do I go about doing that? Also, look at my gorgeous Poet’s Muse candle from @gunndeancandle.co. It goes well with almost every picture if that’s your thing PLUS it smells like pears and champagne and it might just be my favorite. . . . #litcocktailsbookclub . .
