Always chasing that light 🙌🏽☀️ ⠀
Also wanted to take a minute to thank you all for your incredibly loving replies to my story ❤️ I appreciate it more than you know. I will get back to you shortly 🤗 much love!
Today I woke up to a Facebook memory from 8 years ago. It was something I wrote when I was 22 years old, in college, and with so much life ahead. It read: “𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙞𝙨𝙣’𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪; 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪. 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡! 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙚. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚- 𝙗𝙮 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙩.”
A wave of emotion came over my current 30 year old self, knowing that my younger self could have never, ever predicted (or even begin to imagine) the life I now live— but because she consistently trusted the universe, put herself first, took charge, and never gave up on pursuing more, I’m where I am today.
Yesterday I hit 10k. 𝗧𝗘𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗗 of you follow me. That’s a number I would have never thought was possible just six months ago. A number which, if I can I inspire and encourage just a small percentage of, I will die a tremendously happy person.
So 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨. Thank you for supporting me; for following me through my journey. For responding, for asking questions, and for educating me. For direct messaging me insights, encouragement, and laughing along with me. For befriending me, someone who you may have never met in person, but feel as close to me as a good friend.
This year I have met so many inspiring people through social media that I’ve met up with in far away places, and even created many future plans with.
Thank you for wandering this beautiful world with me, and for making my younger and current self insanely proud of my life and community.
What would you want to tell your younger self if you had the chance?

Real talk: One of the reasons that I wasn't so active over New Years was because this new year made me super anxious. People keep telling you that you need to achieve something in a year, that you have to have plans for the upcoming. They show off what they did and what they achieved, sharing their never achievable goals for the next year.
For me I don't have the feeling that I achieved e n o u g h and I don't have a reason to show off as well as not having a strict plan for this year. I want to finish my doctoral degree but that's it. How my life continues afterwards: I don't know. And it scares me a little because right now I don't have a plan or a dream. I just want to float a little.
So what I want to tell you with this: it's okay to not have a plan what to do with your life, it's okay to not have a goal, it's okay just going with it. Don't let others dictate your life by telling you what you should have achieved by now or what you need to do! Live your own life and don't be scared of doing things differently, thinking differently!

Free from refined sugar, vegan and delicious: I made these banana date oat bars yesterday, and just posted the making of plus measurements in my story, if you’re interested. They’re a great snack or even breakfast on the go, and they stay soft (yet crunchy on the outside!) for days! 💯 Hands up if you’re a cereal bar fan like me! 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♂️☺️

For those of you who are new to my feed, hi there 👋! I’m Caroline, the Creative Director and founder of Caroline Cecil Textiles. All of our textiles originate as my own paintings, and are hand printed in California onto heritage linens from Ireland and Belgium. As a textile designer for interiors, I aim to design liveable collections that will enrich people’s homes for decades to come. My grandmother was a professional watercolor artist and taught me how to paint from a young age, and I love carrying on the tradition of female artists in our family. I have a deep appreciation for the artisan made and textiles at the fiber level which is why our fabrics celebrate the artisan through and through: from my original paintings, to the heritage linens we print onto, to our hand printed production process. In the coming months we will launch our first wallpaper collection, bring on new team members, and continue to build out our new home and home office. Thanks for following along, I L O V E getting to know our IG community so don’t be a stranger! #carolinececiltextiles photography @gia.goodrich
✨IG vs REALITY✨The first photo is of me relaxing on a beautiful beach in Coron. Not a care in the world, salty hair, sand between my toes, enjoy life and getting that instagram photo 😂 The second photo is me dying on a 14hr flight from South Korea to NYC. The culprit of the bug is a salad at the airport in Cebu. It hit me on our 4hr flight leaving Cebu heading to Seoul. Then really hit me during our 4hr layover. Then REALLY REALLY hit me on our 14hr flight back home!! Anyways the point of the story is everyone’s life is not as perfect as it may seem on Instagram. We are REAL people that encounter not so perfect “insta worthy” moments in life. I think most people INCLUDING US get too wrapped up in portraying this perfect life on the gram and one of our 2019 goals is to show you guys more of our real not so curated selfs!! When was the last time you had a not so “insta worthy” moment?
